Attention Getter- Only 4 percent of elementary schools, 8 percent of middle schools and

2 percent of high schools provide daily physical education for all student, which puts at
risks the health of the upcoming generations.
Credibility- Hello my name is Alejandra and I have been researching how fitness should
be a prescription for obesity, not only is it just exercising but you also have to watch
what you eat.
Audience Motivation- Obesity is a major problem, especially in the US. There are many
adults who are obese and many kids who are slowly making there way on becoming
obese, which can lead to many health risks and psychological problems. I chose this
topic because many people around the world believe that just by exercising it is going to
get rid of them being obese but no that is not all, eating well is a big part of losing weight
and many people do not know that.
Preview Points- Today I am going to be talking about the following points. First I will
provide information of the average weight for the average men and women and how to
prevent new generations of kids from becoming obese, secondly I will explain the
different health risks and diseases that come with someone being obese, lastly I will
discuss the different mindset many young people and adults have(obese people)
comparing themselves to others and how they feel.
Transition Point 1- Lets begin discussing the misapprehension around obesity.
Point 1 Claim Sentence- Many people are getting sick from obesity and dont have the
knowledge of the different health risks and diseases.
Subpoint 1- When asking people what they know about obesity many said
that it only affects your health. Many did not know that it does not just affect your
health but your mentality.
Subpoint 2- According to Obesity.org an extensive problem going on with
obesity is type 2 diabetes, most of the adults, teens, and children who are obese
have type 2 diabetes.
Subpoint 3-The US Department of Health and Human discusses the
average weight for the average height of men and women.
Point 2 Claim Sentence- People should be more accountable to fitness to maintain a
healthy weight and diet.
Subpoint 1- Obesitycampaign.org about 50 percent of U.S. adults and
adolecents currently do not get the daily amount of physical activity
recommened.
Subpoint 2- Obese Americans spend about 42% more money than
healthy-weight people on medical care each year. It can be preventable by
proper eating and being active on daily basis.

Subpoint 3- According to Michelle Obama Lets move campaign,


Michelle Obama is encouraging to have healthier diets in and out of school. Also
she that school increase their daily physical activity.
Point 3- Being fit change many peoples mindset mentally and physically
Subpoint 1- Many gyms should post different exercises and diets that
could help reduce obesity or becoming obese.
Subpoint 2- We need to support people that fitness is a key to controlling
obesity, which can change their emotional state.
Subpoint 3- Lastly, if you do not feel satisfied with yourself and need
support, the following the American Psychological Association can help you
mentally and physically.
Transition Conclusion- In conclusion to my presentation, I hope this acknowledged the
impact obesity has towards a person.
Review Main Points- We discussed the major health risks of obesity, the accountability
people should have towards fitness and dieting, and an association to support/motivate
or help obese people.
Ending- It important we help obese people, reduce health risks and mentality that obese
people can change for their benefit.
