iFixit Project Evaluation Memo Peer Review Sheet

Peer Reviewers Names: Sol Ochoa

Writers Names: T. Hua, B. Mokede, W. Kamau, T. Ahmadyar

Please answer the following questions for your peer team. Yes can be a stand-alone answer,
but No responses require explanations and a specific example. Add space as necessary.

FORMATTING: Did this team . . .

1. Use standard memo formatting (header, etc.)? Yes

2. Create and mark sections with appropriate headings? Yes

3. Organize paragraphs with clear topic sentences and develop paragraphs fully with
relevant explanations and details?

The organization of the overall document was very clear; however, I think more detail
could be added so it is not as broad and vague. For example, in the section of
contribution there seemed to only be one sentence describing each individuals part.
Maybe adding more details involving how each person contributed weekly, as in editing
or communicating meeting times, unfinished work etc. This would better reflect
everyones overall contribution. Dr. Bruce will be able to see that everyone contributed
throughout the project as to only what they contributed in breaking down the device.

CONTENT: Did this team . . .

4. Include hyperlinks to its device page, troubleshooting page, and guide pages?

Yes, but why are they in different colors? For consistency it might be best to change that.

5. State the total number of completed guides and steps (across all guides)?

The total number of guide was 5 and 36 steps in total.

6. Explain any unusual elements in their guides (e.g., our devices screen is broken because
. . . .

The black plastic screw panel that was broken and continued to break throughout the
process was unusual. Also, the tool not included in the iFixit tool kit that is necessary for
the disassembly was unusual.

7. Evaluate their groups performance, including a discussion of their teams strengths,

weaknesses, and heroes?

It seems that this team understood the sacrifice necessary to complete all the elements of
this project. It might be a good idea to address weakness first (being the challenge of
finding time) and then expand on your strength of being open-minded. In other words,
using a problem-to-solution format. Everyone contributed equally to this project, and no
specific hero was identified.

8. Evaluate the iFixit education program in general, including a discussion of the ways (if
any) the program has prepared you for a future workplace, the ways Dr. Bruce could
improve this projects learning outcomes, and the ways iFixit staff could improve their
collaboration with student teams?

For the section on future preparation, it was clear what was learned while doing this
project, however, there were no specifics as to how it would apply to a potential
professional work setting. If it did not prepare you for a future workplace, state that and
explain why not.
