Thesis:
According to our platform, We affirm the integrity of the
international borders of the United States and the Constitutional
authority and duty of the federal government to guard and to
protect those borders
I believe the author's argument is According to our platform,
We affirm the integrity of the international borders of the
United States and the Constitutional authority and duty of the
federal government to guard and to protect those borders
. Why I think that is because in line 10 it says, U.S Border
patrol released its apprehension statistics for 2014, showing
that 257 arrest of illegal aliens were from countriesother than
Mexico,including 1,191 suspects from
Iran,Sudan,Syria,Afghanistan,Iraq,Pakistan,Somalia,and
Yemen,nations with powerful nation terrorist cells. This means
that people are coming over the southern border from places known
to have terrorists organizations. Another reason why I think
that's the author's argument is because on line 25 it
says,Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA), a member of the House
Armed Services Committee, summed-up the terrorism threats this
way:ISIS doesn't have a navy,they don't have an air force. The
only way ISIS is going to harm Americans is by coming through
the southern border-which they already have. They aren't flying
B-1 bombers,bombing American cities,but they are going to be
bombing American cities coming across from Mexico... All you have
to do is ask the border patrol. This means that the only way isis
can harm us is by going to our communities to make or convince
the people inside our cities/countries to join isis. The last
piece of evidence that made me think the argument is this, is on
line 29 it says, the department of homeland security spends $4

billion annually deploying over 58,000 personal with 16,875

vehicles,269 aircraft,and 300 camera towers.This means that this
is was the government was trying to do to keep out terrorists.
I thought the author's arguments was good because it made sense
to me also he had good facts about are boarders. There wasn't
that much opinion that I saw just a lot of facts and it seems
like are boarders are pretty secure but they still need
improvements to keep terorist out. Why I thought the author's
argument was strong is because the facts were really backed up
his ideas. They all made sense also he didn't just put his
opinion on it. He gave us a idea on why we need improvements and
that it's not necessary to make a wall because we have a lot of
security already. Why I agree with it is because If we would
build a wall if would cost a lot of money also we have two very
large fences and we have a lot of security. I also agree the fact
that we just need improvements on the system for our boarders.
