There are indications all over the world about gold specially when hearing old accounts that
said the gold was obtained and worked out for the gods, if you know the Incas when asked

by the spaniards why they have so much gold stacked into chambers in Peru, the Indians
said that the gold was for the gods that were going to return for it, and that the Inca was only
keeping it for them. Pizarro takes it for himself, and that was unthinkable for the Indians that
were still thinking the Spaniards were some kind of lesser gods... The joke is that the
Spaniards use it as coins but not taking in consideration any of the other uses of gold
because their society lacks development in Sciences, stuck on Religion up to their necks?

Here's a Google Books find, by way of HathiTrust (not on Carlo's List) of another post-1922
book which HathiTrust has researched and declared public domain and made available for
full view.
It's a complete cover-to-cover Google Books scan in .cbr and .pdf formats of the 1955
Ballantine Books hardcover First Edition of Far And Away: Eleven Fantasy And ScienceFiction Stories by Anthony Boucher.
Regarding this scan: This was a Google Books scan of a copy of the book from the library
of the University of California, which was lacking a dust jacket.
It really wasn't too bad for a Google Books scan - fairly even margins, no fingers shown
flipping the pages or other weird anomalies, maybe a little warping of some lines at the top
of pages near the back of the book, but there were a lot of stray black marks on the pages
(which sometimes looked like a period plopped down in the middle of a sentence) and
missing or damaged portions of letters.
It took a good bit of work but I'm fairly pleased with the final result, though I probably spent
way more time on this project than I should have. I removed all of the Google and university
logos/watermarks and HathiTrust timestamps at the bottom of the pages. I next went pageby-page and cleaned up library markings and the stray black marks on the pages with
Windows Paint and filled in or fixed the missing or damaged portions of letters.
In one case, the punctuation mark at the end of a sentence was just a humongous blob. In
the context of the characters' conversation it seemed most likely that it had been a question
mark rather than a period. I was able to confirm this by checking a scan of the issue of
Astounding in which the story had originally appeared and used Paint to repair the question
mark.
Finally I created both a .cbr and a .pdf version, adding to the files scans of the front panel of
the rare dust jacket that I had found online.
I've uploaded the two files to Mega.

Far And Away is an anthology of eleven science fiction and fantasy short stories by Anthony
Boucher, which had first appeared in pulps and digests of the 1940s and 1950s (one story
comes from the 1954 hardcover anthology of original SF stories, 9 Tales Of Space And
Time). It was originally published simultaneously in both hardcover and mass market
paperback formats in 1955 by Ballantine Books.
This is a scan of the rare hardcover edition which had a much smaller print run than the
paperback and different cover art by Richard Powers. There are currently only three copies
of the hardcover edition for sale on the major used book websites (and none on eBay),
priced at $450.00, $650.00, and $850.00. A copy was sold for $448.13 by Heritage
Auctions in September 2011.

About The Author:
Anthony Boucher (born William Anthony Parker White; August 21, 1911 April 29, 1968)
was an American science fiction editor and author of mystery novels and short stories. He
was particularly influential as an editor. Between 1942 and 1947 he acted as reviewer of
mostly mystery fiction for the San Francisco Chronicle. In addition to "Anthony Boucher,"
White also employed the pseudonym "H. H. Holmes," which was the name of a late-19thcentury American serial killer.
In a 1981 poll of 17 detective story writers and reviewers, his novel Nine Times Nine was
voted as the ninth best locked room mystery of all time.

White was born in Oakland, California, and went to college at the University of Southern
California. He later received a master's degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
He pronounced his adopted name Boucher phonetically, "to rhyme with voucher."
Boucher (as he was more commonly known) was admired for his mystery writing but was
most noted for his editing, his science fiction anthologies, and his mystery reviews for many
years in The New York Times. He was one of the first English translators of Jorge Luis
Borges, translating "El jardn de senderos que se bifurcan" for Ellery Queen's Mystery
Magazine. He helped found the Mystery Writers of America in 1946 and, in the same year,
was one of the first winners of the MWA's Edgar Award for his mystery reviews in the San
Francisco Chronicle. He was founding editor (with J. Francis McComas) of The Magazine Of
Fantasy & Science Fiction from 1949 to 1958, and was seminal in attempting to make
literary quality an important aspect of science fiction. He won the Hugo Award for Best
Professional Magazine in 1957 and 1958. Boucher also edited the long-running Best From
Fantasy And Science Fiction anthology series, 19521959.
Boucher wrote short stories for many of the most distinguished popular fiction magazines in
America, including Adventure, Astounding, Black Mask, Ed McBain's Mystery Book, Ellery
Queen's Mystery Magazine, Galaxy Science Fiction, The Master Detective, Unknown
Worlds, and Weird Tales.
His short story "The Quest For Saint Aquin" was among the stories selected in 1970 by the
Science Fiction Writers of America as one of the best science fiction short stories of all
time. As such, it was published in The Science Fiction Hall Of Fame, Volume One, 1929
1964.
Boucher was the friend and mentor of science-fiction writer Philip K. Dick and others. His
1942 novel Rocket To The Morgue, in addition to being a classic locked room mystery, is
also something of a roman clef about the Southern California science fiction culture of the
time, featuring thinly veiled versions of personalities such as Robert A. Heinlein, L. Ron
Hubbard and rocket scientist/occultist/fan Jack Parsons.
Boucher also scripted for radio and was involved in many other activities, as described by
William F. Nolan in his essay, "Who Was Anthony Boucher?": "The 1940s proved to be a
very busy and productive decade for Boucher. In 1945 he launched into a spectacular
three-year radio career, plotting more than 100 episodes for The Adventures Of Ellery
Queen, while also providing plots for the bulk of the Sherlock Holmes radio dramas. By the
summer of 1946 he had created his own mystery series for the airwaves, The Casebook Of
Gregory Hood. ("I was turning out three scripts each week for as many shows," he stated. "It
was a mix of hard work and great fun.")."
With respect to his scripting of the Sherlock Holmes radio dramas, Nigel Bruce, who played
Dr. Watson, said that Boucher "had a sound knowledge of Conan Doyle and a great
affection for the two characters of Holmes and Watson."
Boucher left dramatic radio in 1948, "mainly because I was putting in a lot of hours working
with J. Francis McComas in creating what soon became The Magazine Of Fantasy And
Science Fiction. We got it off the ground in 1949 and saw it take hold solidly by 1950. This

was a major creative challenge and although I was involved in a lot of other projects, I stayed
with F&SF into 1958."
Throughout his years with the magazine, Boucher was involved in many other projects. He
wrote fiction for the SF and mystery markets (primarily short stories). He taught an informal
writing class from his home in Berkeley. He continued his Sunday mystery columns for the
New York Times Book Review, while also writing crime-fiction reviews for The New York
Herald Tribune as Holmes (he also reviewed SF and fantasy (as H. H. Holmes) for the
Herald Tribune) and functioning as chief critic for Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine. He
edited True Crime Detective, supervised the Mercury Mystery Line and (later) the Dell Great
Mystery Library; hosted Golden Voices, his series of historical opera recordings for Pacifica
Radio, and served (in 1951) as president of Mystery Writers of America.
Boucher was a devoted poker player, a political activist, a rabid sport fan (football,
basketball, track, gymnastics and rugby), an active Sherlockian in the Baker Street Irregulars
and a spirited chef.
Boucher died of lung cancer on April 29, 1968 at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Oakland.
Bouchercon, the "Anthony Boucher Memorial World Mystery Convention," was named in his
honor. Descriptions of those conventions from the first, in 1970, until that in 2004, appear in
Marvin Lachman's The Heirs Of Anthony Boucher.

Editors note: Well, its undubitable that the truck hitting frenchies today must be a headline
story tomorrow in the newspapers, and also the four sonic bombs in a Stadium (that only
frighten people) will be attached for ever (at least as "for ever" endures in the mind of a
modern man (or woman) to the fourteen of July in France- the national day, so to speak.
I imagine a dark cloud over every man and female alive in that country, specially the ones
living in a big city, or traveling by airplane, bus or in the family car. A cloud of terror hanging
over them must be destructive for their enterprises, communication and conversations alike.
I cannot forget what French people did in Libia, and what they still made in Siria, with the
fleet of airplanes Monsieur Le President sents there not a month ago, to happily bomb the
people on the ground, and so I think what you do today, will have consequences tomorrow,
and please dont cry over the spilled milk.

this is actually the third issue of this magazine. The magazine was originally called Smashing
Novels Magazin in 1936, then the name was changed to Adventure Novels and Short
Stories in February 1937 while continuing with the original numbering, then in January 1938
the numbering was reset to vol 1 no 1. The magazine was shut down in Dec 1939 after three
more issues.

Zotz! was originally published in hardcover in 1947 by Rinehart & Company. The dust jacket
art and interior illustrations were done by the author himself, who had studied art at the New
York School of Fine Arts and Ecole Julien in Paris, France.
Zotz! is a satirical fantasy novel about a professor who, after deciphering an inscription on an
ancient disc, acquires the power to kill any living thing by simply pointing at it and saying the
word "Zotz!". He also finds that he has two additional powers: the ability to cause pain and to
slow down time.
Because the novel is set during World War II, there is a patriotic flavor throughout the story,
much of which revolves around Professor Jones efforts to see President Franklin
Roosevelt with the hope that he can convince the President that the Allies can use his
supernatural abilities to help the war effort. His attempts are stymied by bureaucracy.
Karig wrote himself into the novel as a beleaguered officer working at a naval public
information office, where dozens of people parade by his desk daily all trying to obtain
appointments to meet the highest authority in the government.
In the book, Karig points out that mankind has not changed much in a thousand years
technology may have improved, but humans still have a strong desire to destroy and to kill.
With his novel, Karig managed to blend a splendid satire of wartime Washington
bureaucracy with ethical questions relevant to the advent of nuclear war.
The novel's odd name was inspired by Karig's chance meeting with a member of the Zotz
family: "Some years back I met a man whose last name was Zotz. The strange name was
from Austria or Bavaria where his ancestors came from. Immediately after hearing this
name, it seemed a magic spell had been cast. I felt "Zotz!" possesses magic power, and
thus the title of my novel was born. The meaning of this strange name was a mystery even
the bearer could not solve. I tried to find more information on this. One noted family of the
name was from Peoria, Illinois, one member of which, Alois Zotz, went on to found the
"Deutsche Zeitung" Newspaper in America. When I finally learned that "Zotz" was the name
of a Mayan bat god, I thought the proposed title of the book was perfect." ?Walter Karig,

The book proved to be a huge best-seller and was a selection of the Book-of-the-Month
Club. For years, it was hard to not find a copy of Zotz! in any given thrift store or library sale.
Zotz! was the basis for a 1962 film adaptation of the same name, starring Tom Poston and
Jim Backus, which was produced and directed by legendary B-movie showman William
Castle.

"When a shy professor in a southern theological seminary accidentally acquires the power
of taking life by a modest digital gesture, he is confronted also by the choice of using his
power for the good of the world, or for the most horrific ends possible to man. One could
imagine these United States in the terrifying position of Professor John Jones as it holds the
atom bomb in its collective hand. But Professor John Jones in spite of his past reputation as
a bookworm, is a Man, and though terrified at having unwittingly acquired the power of the
Evil Eye by a grave mischance (accompanied by thunder and lightning) he's fully capable of
coping with a naked and very beautiful lady who simultaneously appears.
It soon develops that his powers are, to say the least, tremendousfor when he points at
anything and mutters the incantation "ZOTZ!" the results are disastrous. We could go on for
two or three more jacket flaps in describing what happens to the unhappy professor and his
powerful finger his tangles with the FBI, with the Democratic National Committee, with the
White House, the Press and most of all with the women in his life: his landlady and that
ubiquitous lady who arrived with his Great Power. But that would be giving away too much.
We can say though that this latest Karigiana bears no resemblance to anything you've read
or will read. ZOTZ! is more than a fantastic, fast-moving story to be read in hungry gulps. It is
really a devastating comment on a good segment of our political, journalistic and
religious life. Here, rampant on a field of red tape, top brass and human foible, is all the
crafty maliciousness of the Karig satire and wit. What more can you say?
The musty corridors of the Navy Department in Washington used to shudder with fantastic
rumors about a benign Public Relations four-striper by the name of Walter Karig, who, by
some demonaic alchemy always succeeded in doing the impossible, and, more incredible,
even the forbidden. These feats, although still shrouded under Top Secret labels in the
Admirals' archives, are known to be of
such impossible magnitude that they could only be accomplished by the use of . . . What?
When Walter Karig sent us the manuscript of ZOTZ! we began to understand what used to
go on in Room 3403 of the Navy Department. Karig, of course, tried to palm this story off as
somebody else's story as told to him. Between ourselves, this is a patent bunch of
nonsense. Putting two and two together it becomes obvious that . . . well, you'll have to
decide for yourself.
Captain Karig is also editor and co-author of the BATTLE REPORT series, the authorized
narrative of the U. S. Navy in World War II."
About The Author:
Walter Karig (November 13, 1898 September 30, 1956) was a journalist, novelist, U.S.
naval captain, and Navy historian. Karig wrote under his own name and under at least four
pseudonyms.
Walter Karig was born in New York, New York on 13 November 1898. He was the son of
Martin and Elsie (Ellis) Karig. He received his early education in schools of New York City,
and studied art at the New York School of Fine Arts and Ecole Julien in Paris, France.
Karig served in the Infantry in WWI, then worked as a journalist, contributing to the Newark
Evening News, The Guardian, The Saturday Evening Post, Liberty, and Colliers. He was also
book editor at the Washington Post. He worked for the US Navy from 1942 to 1954, earning

a Legion of Merit award, and was in charge of the Navy Narrative History Project, which
chronicled Allied naval operations during WWII and released a series of six books. He was
one of the writers and a technical director for the television documentary series Victory At
Sea.
There is also, according to the Washington Post, some speculation that Karig worked as a
spy, and that his house was the setting for secret meetings for the military in the months
leading up to the U.S. entry into WWII.
Karig wrote detective novels under the name Keats Patrick (a pseudonym which combined
elements of the names of his daughters Keating and Patricia) such as Death Is A Tory
(1935) (retitled The Pool Of Death, 1942), and genre novels under his own name such as
Lower Than Angels (1945), and Zotz! (1947), a fantasy novel later made into a 1962
Hollywood movie starring Tom Poston and Jim Backus. His titles also include the memoirs
The Fortunate Islands: A Pacific Interlude (1948), and The Pig In The Parlor (1949), cowritten with his wife Eleanor Karig. In addition, he wrote twenty mysteries and adventure
books for children, including books in the Doris Force Series (under the name Julia K.
Duncan), and in the Perry Pierce Mystery Series (under the name Clinton W. Locke).
Most notable among his ghost writing credits are three of the Nancy Drew mysteries that he
wrote under the name Carolyn Keene (Books 8-10, 1932-33). He earned a bad reputation
with the Stratemeyer Syndicate by writing to the Library of Congress and requesting authorial
credit for the three Nancy Drew volumes he wrote. The Library staff assumed that he wrote
all of the books. Both the fact that he revealed himself as "Carolyn Keene" and the mistake
on the part of the library catalogers were a source of tremendous consternation for the
Syndicate. At one point, Harriet S. Adams wrote to Mildred Wirt (the author of the first 25
volumes in the Nancy Drew series, except for the three written by Karig) and said that the
Syndicate would rue the day that they ever hired Karig, and that if anyone could claim to be
"Carolyn Keene" it would be Wirt.
A former member of the Cosmos Club and the National Press Club, he is buried at Arlington
National Cemetery.

About The Acolyte:
The Acolyte was a fanzine devoted to H. P. Lovecraft and his circle. Fourteen issues were
published by Francis Towner Laney (d. 1958) and Samuel D. Russell from 1943 to 1946.
The first two issues were hectographed, the remainder were mimeographed. In spite of the
poor format, the content was impressive, with contributions by Fritz Leiber, Jr., Clark Ashton
Smith, Anthony Boucher, E. Hoffmann Price, Donald Wandrei, and many more.
The first issue appeared in 1942, published in Washington state, U.S.A. Editors for the
fanzine included Francis T. Laney, Samuel D. Russell, and Duane W. Rimel. R. A. "Rah"
Hoffman was listed as Art Director.
Issue One featured the "Map of Arkham", drawn by H. P. Lovecraft. Other issues of The
Acolyte included "The Cthulhu Mythology: A Glossary" by Francis T. Laney, essays by Fritz
Leiber about Lovecraft's fiction, as well as fiction in the fantasy and supernatural genres, and
poetry. Also featured were contributions by Robert H. Barlow and Clark Ashton Smith, as
well as many previously unpublished essays by Lovecraft.
Later issues list F. Lee Baldwin, Duane W. Rimel and Harold Wakefield as contributing
editors.
Other contributors included Forrest J. Ackerman (as "Weaver Wright"), Virginia Anderson
(a.k.a. Hyacinthe Hill), Robert Averett, Manly Banister, Rita Barr, Sara Barschow, Stuart
Morton Boland, Anthony Boucher, Barbara E. Bovard, Vil Bryant, Charles Burbee, Shirley

Two works of writing from The Acolyte are considered essential in the creation of the
Cthulhu Mythos, including "Music Of The Stars" by Duane W. Rimel, and "Horror At Vecra"
by Henry Hasse. Laney's essay, "The Cthulhu Mythology: A Glossary", initially published in
the Winter 1942 issue, was expanded at the request of August Derleth and became part of
the 1943 Arkham House Lovecraft collection Beyond The Wall Of Sleep.
Four issues of The Acolyte were published in Washington state in 1943, and three in 1944.
The winter of 1945 saw one issue released, after which the publisher, Francis Laney, moved
to Los Angeles, where he released three more issues that year. In 1946 the last two issues
were released, making 14 issues in all.
It was nominated for the 1946 Retrospective Hugo Award for Best Fanzine, losing to Forrest
J. Ackerman's Voice Of The Imagi-Nation.

The magazine had several reincarnations in subsequent decades. The first was a shortlived magazine in the early 1970s edited by Sam Moskowitz and published by Leo
Margulies. It lasted four issues. The second was a series of four paperback anthologies
published from 1981 to 1983 and edited by Lin Carter. The series was licensed by Robert
Weinberg and Victor Dricks, who purchased the title after Margulies' death. The rights to the
title reverted to Weinberg when the Carter-edited version was dropped by Zebra Books.
There were two issues in 1984 and 1985 from the small publisher the Bellerophon Network,
though only the first saw much in the way of distribution. Brian Forbes (via a company called
The Wizard in West Hollywood) leased the title from copyright holder Robert Weinberg. It
had been reported that the first issue would be distributed by Pacific Comics with a print run
of 20,000. The fiction editor was Gil Lamont. In August 1984, Forrest J. Ackerman was
contending that he was the editor, with Gil Lamont working for the distributor as first reader
only. Lamont stated he was the fiction editor, with Ackerman in charge of reprints. In Oct
1984 Locus reported that neither Ackerman nor Lamont knew where they stood with the
elusive publisher, but that instead of being printed, the galleys for the first issue (edited by
Lamont) were re-set. Locus magazine reported that most copies went to two distributors
(Seagate and Longhorn) who, among others, never paid for them, causing Forbes financial
difficulties. An A.E. van Vogt collaboration which commenced in the first Forbes issue was
inexplicably not continued in the second. The editor of the second 'Forbes' issue was
Gordon Garb. Both the Forbes issues are rare.

The Journal Of Science-Fiction was a science fiction fanzine which lasted for four issues
from 1951 to 1953. It was published in Chicago by Charles Freudenthal, and edited by
Freudenthal and Edward Wood (of no relation to the infamous movie director, as far as I
know). Lester Fried was co-editor of the magazine's first issue.
This final issue features an article on British fantasy paperbacks, an appreciation of Richard
Matheson's work by Robert Bloch, and material relating to the 1952 Tenth Anniversary World
Science Fiction Convention which had been held in Chicago. The issue includes thirty
photographs taken at the convention and the text of guest of honor Hugo Gernsback's
address to the convention.
Also included in the issue is a listing of the contents of the science fiction and fantasy
magazines which were published in 1952 (the year I was born - and another birthday coming
up June 15!). It's amazing how many different titles were being published that year.

oooooooooooooooooHere's another issue of Popular Mechanics from the Google Books
Popular Mechanics Archive which I've collated and edited. This issue has been shared here
before in incomplete form but this is a complete cover-to-cover scan.
You'll notice a few ink marginal notations primarily in the back portions of this issue. The
copy of the magazine scanned by Google Books was an "office" or "working" copy of the
magazine from the publisher's archives. The notations had been made by the original
editors or staff members and give information on the sources of the stories with names and
contact information.
The front cover as scanned by Google Books is a bit cropped. I found a more complete
scan of the front cover on Flickr and added it to the file. I also used Windows Paint to clean
up some of the stray black marks in the page margins.
I used Adobe Acrobat to create a navigation pane for the .pdf and bookmarked the major
articles in the magazine. With the touch of your mouse pointer, you can instantly go to any
article.
I've uploaded the file to Mega.

An adult male, with considerable military service in both the U. S. Navy and U. S. Air Force,
awakens from sleep, and immediately becomes aware of a pulsing pressure, or a lowpitched sound. He peeks out from his tent, looking for anything that might explain the
phenomenon, but sees nothing, at first. He quickly realizes that even though the sky is clear
and cloudless, he is unable to see stars overhead. He then realizes that an immense
triangular craft is hovering over his remote campsite!
Jacksonville, Florida, Thursday, June 23rd, 2016, 0031 hrs. (EDT)While viewing the
Moons terminator with a 4.5-inch reflector telescope, an experienced amateur astronomer
witnesses a peculiar-looking, dark, five-sided object pass through the field of view of his
telescope, and across the face of the Moon. The only explanation of terrestrial origin he can
imagine is that a satellite in low-Earth orbit passed through his field of view, but that
possibility does not seem to explain the peculiar shape of the object.
Billings, Montana, Thursday, June 23rd, 2016, @ 2255 hrs. (MDT)An adult male

employee, on break from work, looks up at a jet aircraft, which is flying from east to west,
and suddenly notices that it is being followed by a small yellow-, or orange-colored, light. He
quickly calls the aircraft and trailing light to the attention of his co-worker, and both men
continue to watch the aircraft for several seconds. As they watch, they are quite surprised to
see the light apparently maneuver below, and ahead of, the aircraft. The two witnesses
continued to observe the aircraft and light, until they disappeared to the west.

THURSDAY, JUNE 16, 2016
Joshua Tree, California, June 4th, 2016, @ 2200 hrs. (PDT)Approximately 100
attendees of the Contact in the Desert UFO conference were treated a very interesting
display of lights, which were observed both by the naked eye, and with night vision devices.
Ms. Melinda Leslie, a former MUFON investigator and MUFON Board Member for Orange
County MUFON, and some of the attendees at the night sky viewing party she hosted,
succeeded in filming some of the objects, and they have generously shared with NUFORC
some of the interesting footage captured, which can be seen here.(Video compliments of
Oklahoma UFO Paranormal Team members Dick and Marilyn Carlson, Yukon, OK). Ms.

Another sighting was reported for the day before the conference: . The report was
accompanied by this video. We have looked at the video, and our impression is that the
object may be a helium-filled balloon, with something suspended below it, but we cannot be
sure. We share it, and welcome comments from visitors to our website.

Peter Davenport, Center Director, will make his weekly appearance on Coast to Coast AM,
hosted by Mr. George Noory, on Thursday night, June 16, 2016, at approximately 10:15 p.m.

or revised since the afternoon of June 3rd, 2016.
We always warn visitors to our website to be on the alert for the possibility of prank reports
among those we post, but we do so even more fervently than has been the case in the past,
given the number of prank calls that currently are being placed to our telephone Hotline. We
have attempted to remove all the obviously hoaxed reports, but there are other reports
which, although of suspicious nature, we have left in the collection of reports that we have

husband and wife were camping at Sawmill Flats Campground, and at dusk, noticed a red
orb on the other side of the Naches River, at a distance of approximately 100 yards. The
ball of light appeared to split into two similar balls of light, which may have rejoined. The light
was later joined by, and merged with, a blue light, which approached from the west.

Eastpointe, Michigan, Friday, May 27th, 2016 @ 2305 hrs. (EDT)Two medical coworkers witness a peculiar blue light, moving slowly from west to east in the northern sky.
The object comes to a complete stop, and after a short period of time, three or four smaller
objects, also blue in color, were released from the bottom of the larger object. After a
minute or so, the smaller objects returned to, and entered, the larger craft, shortly after
which, the larger crafts color shifted from blue to vivid red. The larger craft then reportedly
descended vertically, and disappeared from the witnesses sight beyond the horizon. The
area of the sighting is approximately 6-8 (statute) miles southwest from Selfridge AFB. 1
Pt. Charlotte, Florida, Friday, May 27th, 2016, @ 2355 hrs. (EDT)After closing the
garage door to his home, an adult male, who describes himself as a multi-thousand hour
instrument-rated pilot, turns around and witnesses a disc-shaped craft, approximately 60
feet in diameter, hovering within 150 feet of his location. The witness runs into his home to
obtain a camera, and exits his house, just in time to see the object accelerate dramatically
rapidly, and disappear from his sight within 1-2 seconds!
Aurora, Colorado, Saturday night, May 28th, 2016, @ 2225 hrs. (MDT)An adult
male, who describes himself as an amateur astronomer and an astronomical photographer,
witnesses in the western sky a rapidly, and erratically, moving object, approximately three
times the apparent size of Jupiter. When the witness first observed the object, it was
directly below Jupiter. After approximately three minutes, the color of the object reportedly
suddenly changed to an emerald green, and the object began a slow descent, exhibiting a
falling leaf pattern, as it did so. The object then arrested its descent and hovered in the
night sky, during which time its color alternated from red to green, and back to green, several
times. The object then suddenly accelerated to the north, and disappeared in the northern
sky. Three similar objects are reported to have approached the area, where the original
object was last seen, shortly after it disappeared.

Pt. Charlotte, Florida, Friday, May 27th, 2016 @ 2350 hrs. (EDT)An adult male, who

describes himself as an experienced instrument-rated private pilot, glances across the

street from his house, and witnesses a disc-shaped object, approximately 60 feet in
diameter, hovering in the night sky, approximately 60 feet above ground level, and not more
than 150 feet distant from his location. The object suddenly accelerated, and streaked out
of sight in less than two seconds, the witness estimate.
Eastpointe, Michigan, near Selfridge AFB, Friday, May 27th, 2016 @ 2305 hrs.
(EDT)Two adult medical professionals, a male and female, witness a blue light move
across the night sky, stop, drop three or four objects out of the bottom of it, and change its
color to deep red. After approximately two minutes, the object appeared to the witnesses to
descend almost vertically, and disappear from their sight. 1 2
Lake Coeur dAlene, Idaho, Friday, May 20th, 2016, @ 2226 hrs. (PDT)A husband
and wife, while sleeping on their moored sailboat in Beauty Bay, Lake Coeur dAlene, are
suddenly awakened by violent rocking of their boat, and by intensely bright white light, which
was streaming into the cabin. The husband walked up to the top deck, and witnessed a
strange object, which was projecting a bright beam of light, which was circling the sailboat.
The light suddenly extinguished, and the object went streaking off into the night sky. 1 2

Aurora, Colorado, Saturday, May 28th, 2016 @ 22:25 hrs. (MDT)An adult male,
experienced in astronomy and viewing an photography of the nighttime sky, witnessed a
bright red object, approximately three times the apparent size of the planet Jupiter, he
estimated, in the western sky. The object was changing colors, alternating from green to
red, and it appeared to be moving abruptly, or rapidly. He witnessed the object for at least
three minutes, he estimates, before it moved off to the west, and disappeared from his
sight.
Seattle (Wallingford community), Washington, Friday, May 20th, 2016, @ 2205 hrs.
(PDT)An adult male witnessed, and video-taped, five bright orange lights from his location
in the Wallingford District. The lights appeared as though they might have been over the
University of Washington campus, initially, and they then moved west, suddenly turned south,
appeared to accelerate, and disappeared in the southern night sky, in the direction of
Seattle.
Here is another recent, and interesting, report, from Pt. St. Lucie, Florida, which caught our
attention:

members of the same family witness a cluster of 15-20 red lights, seen moving in formation

Brighton, Colorado, Wednesday, May 25th, 2016, @ 0900 hrs. (MDT)An adult
female reports witnessing three white, circular objects move rapidly across the morning
sky. They disappeared to the northeast of her position. She telephoned a local television
news station, which had received no other reports of the event.
Carlsbad, California, Tuesday, May 24th, 2016, @ 0630 hrs. (PDT)A husband and

wife witness a strange, and rather large, patch of white light on the horizon, as they looked
out over the Pacific Ocean. The witnesses at first assumed that the object was a cruise
liner, but quickly rejected that theory. They went inside their home, and returned to continue
observing the object, but it had disappeared from the horizon during the approximately five
minutes that it had been out of sight of the witnesses. In a telephone conversation, the
husband reported to NUFORC that they had looked at the object with 7 X 50 binoculars, and
they could see no structure that was suggestive of a ship.

adults witness a fiery, triangular object lift off the ground near the beach, rise slowly into the
sky, and then move off at a steady pace to the south.
Seattle (Wallingford District), Washington, Friday, May 20th, 2016, @ 2200 hrs.
(PDT)NUFORC received two reports from different witnesses, describing a sighting of a
cluster of 3-5 bright red lights, seen hovering in the eastern nighttime sky. The lights
probably would have been visible from Interstate 5, and from the campus of the University of

Minot AFB, North Dakota, September 15, 1966 (est.) @ morningA former USAF
launch control officer (1st Lieutenant, at the time of the incident) recounts his experience
regarding a UFO incident, which seems to have caused his flight of Minuteman missiles to
go offline, and become inoperable. The incident is also addressed in a documentary on
the subject, produced by Dr. Robert Hastings, Ph.D..
Jemez Springs, New Mexico, September 18, 2015, @ 22:20 hrs. (MDT)A adult
male reports having witnessed two diamond shaped craft fly overhead at high speed.
Shanghai, China, Thursday, May 12, 2016, @ 23:20 hrs. (local)A husband and wife
were outdoors, walking their dog, when the husband suddenly becomes aware of a strange
looking triangular craft passing overhead at a very high (angular) velocity. The object was
moving so rapidly that the wife was able to witness only the very last part of the sighting.

Lake Coeur dAlene, Idaho, Friday, @ 22:30 hrs. (PDT)A husband and wife are asleep in
their sailboat, which was anchored in Beauty Bay, located in the northeast corner of Lake
Coeur dAlene, when they were both suddenly awakened by bright light, streaming through
the boats portholes. Also, the boat was being jostled about, quite significantly. The
husband went on deck, and quickly observed that an object in the night sky was illuminating
their boat with a very bright shaft of light. The light suddenly extinguished, and then shot off

Phoenix/Tempe, Arizona, Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016, @ 1200 hrs. (PDT)A veteran of
the U. S. Marine Corps witnesses a cluster of disc-shaped craft hovering in the vicinity of
Sky Harbor Airport. The objects maneuvered relative to each other, suddenly formed into a
straight line, and quickly disappeared from the sight of the witness.
Montreal, Missouri, Sunday, May 1st, 2016, @ 0201 hrs. (CDT)A mans game
camera captures an image of two clusters of peculiar lights in the nearby forest. We at
NUFORC have no reason to believe that the lights are in any way UFO-related, but we find
the lights to be of interest, in view of the report that appears below.
St. Paul, Minnesota, Wednesday, May 4th, 2016, @ 2135 hrs. (CDT)A man reports
witnessing a peculiar stack of four brilliantly bright red lights, which descend across the
night sky at an estimated 45 degree angle to the horizon. The lights disappear behind a
nearby building.
Alto, New Mexico, Wednesday, April 27, 2016, @ 2100 hrs. (MDT)An adult female
reports having witnessed a large triangle in the western sky, which exhibited three white
lights in each of the corners of the triangle, and a blinking red light in the center of the ventral
surface. The object appeared to be trailed by a cluster of blinking white lights, and military
aircraft appeared to the witness to be in proximity to the objects. The object was
approximately the size of a twenty-five cent piece, held at arms length.
South Kingstown, Rhode Island, Wednesday, April 27, 2016, @ 1445 hrs. (EDT)An
adult male, who describes himself as a senior public servant, witnesses a peculiar goldcolored object, that appears suspended above nearby electrical power lines. The object
appeared to the witness to be spinning at high speed, and may have frightened a nearby
flock of birds.
Ft. Collins, Colorado, Sunday, April 24, 2016, @ 0230 hrs. (MDT)A security
employee, who describes himself as a former senior DOD employee, witnesses an orange
sphere in the distance. It immediately draws his attention because it is moving at high
speed, and parallel to the horizon. The s that the modern cell telephone system used by the
security firm suddenly began to act bizarrely shortly after the event, and continued to do so
for several hours. Later in the morning, the telephone system appeared to restore itself to
normal, and no faults could be found with the system.
Seattle, Washington, Friday, April 22, 2016, @ 0030 hrs. (PDT)A young woman and
her boyfriend, while standing on their back porch, witness a black, unlighted, seed-shaped
object, seen hovering in the nighttime sky (see drawing). The object was difficult to see,
until it moved closer to the full moon in the nighttime sky, at which time it seemed to be more
prominent. The object moved off slowly into the night sky.
Light, Arkansas, Thursday, April 21st, 2016, @ 2340 hrs. (CDT)A professional
driver, driving eastbound on Highway 412, observes a bright flash of light behind his truck,
and his attention is suddenly drawn to an intensely bright light, visible in his rear-view mirror.
Within seconds of the initial sighting, a very bright white object streaks ahead of his truck on
the left side, which appears to be pulsing, and it disappears into the night sky.

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Saturday, April 16, 2016, @ 1800 hrs. (PDT)
A young woman, trained as an engineer, witnesses a dark, circular object, above
downtown Vancouver, which she at first thought might be a balloon. Then she realized that
two men on the roof of a nearby multi-story building also were observing the object, and they
seemed to be quite intrigued by it. It was at about that time that the woman suddenly
realized that there was something quite strange about the object, and the manner in which it
was moving, and she awakened to the fact that the object was disc-shaped, and not shaped
like a sphere.
Hayward, California, April 11, 2015, @ 2355 hrs. (PDT)Just over a year ago, an
adult male was driving across the San Mateo Bridge, when his van was filled with a blinding
green light. He looked out to the right side of his van, which is the side the light seemed to
have emanated from, and witnessed a very large, green disc, which appeared to be pacing
the drivers van. The s that even though he got only a brief glimpse of the craft, he was able
to get a very good look at its dorsal surface, and was surprised by the peculiarelectrical
circuit nature of the pattern.
Krotz Springs, Louisiana, Saturday, April 09, 2016, @ 2120 hrs. (local)A group of
eight adult witnesses were sitting in a campsite, when their attention was drawn to a peculiar
strobing light, which appeared to be above the clouds. At first, the object was strobing at an
irregular rate, but after a minute or two, it became a bright, solid, unblinking light, and
suddenly appeared to accelerate dramatically, and shoot off to the northwest. At least one
of the group of witnesses has a very responsible job as an emergency responder, with
whom we spoke via telephone. He sounded to us to be quite serious, and sober-minded.
Corning, Arkansas, Sunday, April 10, 2016, @ 2230 hrs. (CDT)An adult male s
having observed two triangular craft, which appeared to him to maneuver in the night sky
independently of one another. The craft radiated bright blue light, and at least the larger of
the two craft had three lights in each of the corners of the triangle.
Ellsworth, Kansas, Wednesday, April 12, 2016, @ 2130 hrs. (CDT)A husband and
wife witness from their vehicle five very bright red, luminescent orbs in the night sky, which
appeared to be pulsing, or strobing. Husbands Report Wifes Report
Wilson, Kansas, Wednesday, April 12, 2016, at 2140 hrs. (CDT)A father and son,
while driving due south near Wilson, Kansas, witness three distinctly yellow lights, which
appeared to maneuver, and which overtook the witnesses car, as they drove at highway
speed. A few minutes later, the witnesses saw three more yellow lights, which then
appeared to streak to the south. (NUFORC is awaiting a written report from the witnesses.)
Lascar, Colorado, Wednesday, April 13, 2016, @ 11:00 hrs. (MDT)An adult male,
while driving along Interstate 25, at approximately Mile Marker 62, witnesses two luminous
spheres, one yellow, and one orange, apparently resting on the ground in the middle of a
field, where cattle were feeding. Because the objects were one the ground, and not too
distant from his location, he could estimate their size fairly accurately, he thought. His
impression was that they were approximately the size of beach balls.

74, was outside viewing the daytime sky, and admiring the contrails overhead behind
high-altitude airliners, when his attention was drawn to approximately 70-80 (est.) white
objects, seen maneuvering in the sky. At first, the witness thought the objects might be
geese or swans, or some other type of large white birds. However, as they flew in the
vicinity of the contrails, the witness quickly realized that they were above the contrails,
and that they were moving in a manner that seemed to be atypical of birds flight. All of the
objects just suddenly disappeared!

Tucson, Arizona, Monday, March 28, 2016 @ 12:30 p.m. (MDT)An adult male, who
describes himself as a former military pilot with thousands of hours of flight time, was sitting
in front of his computer in his dining room, when the room suddenly became very dark. His
impression was that a very dark cloud was passing overhead, which was obscuring the
sunlight. He stepped outside, and witnessed an unusual and bright ball of light, which,
according to the witness, performed some type of complex interaction with a nearby soaring
hawk!
Meadow Creek, Kentucky, Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016, @ 2300 hrs. (local)Over
the course of 15-20 minutes, husband and wife witness 9 red/orange objects pass
overhead their home, which they succeeded in photographing. The wife insists they were
not so-called Chinese lanterns, citing the fact that they live in a very rural area, and noting
that they have fire restrictions currently in force for their community. Note: NUFORC
recognizes that the objects in the photos appear to be consistent with the appearance of
Chinese lanterns. However, the s that the objects were traveling in a direction almost
opposite that of the prevailing winds. We do not know for certain what the objects are, and
will pursue the case with the local news media, to see whether they might be aware of a
launch of lanterns at the time, and on the date, indicated by the witnesses.
Fairbanks, Alaska, Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016, @ 2100 hrs. (local)A husband,
wife, and their daughter, witness three orange, stationary, triangular-shaped objects, seen
hovering in the nighttime sky. The apparent size of the objects was equal approximately to
that of the planet Venus or Jupiter. The witnesses have pledged to send more reports,
which describe the sighting in greater detail, as well as photos taken with a high-quality digital
camera. NUFORC will post the photos, when they arrive.
South Branch, New Brunswick, Monday, March 21st, 2016, @ 0500 hrs. (local)A
father reports that he was awaked by the baby monitor in his infant sons bedroom, and went
to the room, accompanied by their five grown dogs, to see what the matter was. As the
father tends to his son, he witnesses a tall, slender, black entity through a garage window.
The dogs began acting very strangely, the father reports, and seemed to be profoundly timid
and frightened, and one of them attempted to hide itself under a piano, where it lay,
trembling.

group of police officers, following their morning roll call, become aware of an extremely
loud, low-pitched rumbling sound, which passed directly overhead their location. The sound
was loud enough to drown out their voices, as they attempted to keep talking, and the sound
lasted for, they estimated, ten seconds, even though they witnessed nothing in the sky.
Adelaide, South Australia, Tuesday, March 15, 2016, @ 9:45 p.m. (local)An adult
male, sitting in an outdoor spa in his backyard, when he witnesses three triangular craft,
flying in an unwavering triangular formation, streak across the visible sky in an estimated 5-8
seconds. The witness works in the defense establishment in Australia, and is familiar with all
types of aircraft. He writes that the objects were not terrestrial military aircraft.
We will post again in the next several days. We have been promised video and still photos
by many witnesses, but very little of it has been submitted. If we receive some of the
promised items, we will post them during our next update.
West Topsham, Vermont, Thursday, March 03rd, 2016, @ 2030 hrs. (EST)The
husband/father of a family steps out onto the deck of their home, and he suddenly summons
his family members outside to look at something unusual. Five of the family members
spend the next ten minutes observing two clusters of strange orange lights move rapidly
overhead. The display of lights overhead, they report, was accompanied by a peculiar noise
that sounded like a snow plow scraping a roadway. The objects were seen by another
witness to the north of the familys residence.

male, who describes himself as an experienced amateur astronomer, and a member of the
Mutual UFO Network, witnesses a peculiar yellow light, which is out of place, he knew, in the
nighttime sky. The object suddenly streaks across the sky, stops, and then streaks vertically
into the night sky, all in a matter of seconds.
Edwards, California, on Monday, February 29, 2016, @ 1820 hrs. (PST)Two adult
males, traveling home from work, witness a red object, being trailed by a long string of
yellow lights. The object was approximately 30 degrees above the horizontal plane, and
ahead of their vehicle, as they drove to the north. One of the witnesses is a former senior
non-commissioned officer in the U. S. Air Force. There were other co-workers at the place

report seeing two very large, triangular craft in the early morning sky. The witnesses assert

20-30 seconds, and then suddenly appeared to shoot vertically into the dark sky. The
witnesses assert that their impression was that each object was as large as an oil tanker
ship.

flight at an altitude of 33,000 feet, an airline Pilot and his First Officer witness from their
cockpit a strange blue light, that at first appeared to be stationary, and at a very high altitude.
After an estimated 2-3 minutes, the object began to move to the south, and its luminosity
suddenly increased dramatically. The pilot of a nearby airliner also reported the object over
the radio.

sitting on a ski lift, a father and his 14-year old son, who describe themselves as extremely
experienced night sky watchers, witness two very bright, star-like objects move across the
night sky, almost directly overhead. At first, the witnesses assumed that the objects were
satellites, although they were moving across the sky at a very high (angular) velocity, about
three times that of a satellite in a typical low-Earth orbit, and they were converging rapidly.
The witnesses were even more surprised to see the objects suddenly stop, circle one
another, and then go shooting back in the same direction from which they had just come.

Approximately 90 minutes after a Delta IV rocket was launched from Vandenberg AFB,
witnesses from California, Oregon, Idaho, and Nevada, report a number of very strange
sighting events. NUFORC initially assumed that the witnesses had recorded the incorrect
time, and that they had witnessed the launch from Vandenberg. However, subsequent
investigation has satisfied us that the witnesses observed something very unusual, as further

Southern California, Thursday, February 11th, 2016, @ 0640 hrs. (Pacific)Multiple
witnesses in the Los Angeles and San Diego area witnessed a peculiar blue-green objects
streak across the morning sky, lasting for an estimated 5-15 seconds. The object may have
been a long-duration meteor, but some of the reports provide information that make us
wonder about that explanation. Please see reports for the morning of February 11, 2016.
Bolton (Lake George), New York, Sunday, January 24, 2016, @ 1649 hrs. (EST)A
commercial pilot, on a VFR flight that took him over Lake George, witnesses what at first he
thought was a landing light on an approaching aircraft. However, as his aircraft got closer to
the object, the unidentified object appeared to the witness to change its color to red, or
perhaps yellow, and it began to appear rectangular in shape. Approximately 6 or 7 minutes
after the witness first observed the object, it just suddenly vanished from his sight.
West Suffield, Connecticut, Sunday, January 31st, 2016, @ 2045 hrs. (EST)A
mother, while letting her dog out, suddenly becomes aware of five bright, very prominent
orange lights, which move slowly across the night sky behind some nearby trees. She calls
her son out to look at the objects, which suddenly accelerate abruptly, and streak off into the

Fife, Washington, Wednesday, February 03rd, 2016, @ 1900 hrs. (PST)A family,
driving south on Interstate 5 in Fife, located just north of Tacoma, has its attention suddenly
drawn to a very bright green light, that illuminated the sky to their left. The illumination lasted
for approximately 3 seconds, and then occurred on two more occasions. The father, who
was driving, is an aviation mechanic in the aerospace industry, and states that he has never
seen anything like
it.Orbs that appear to change colors: Over the last several years, we have focused attention
on the strange appearance of clusters of red and orange fireballs. Interestingly, NUFORC
has received a few reports recently about these peculiar orbs which appear to have
changed colors. One such report was just submitted regarding a sighting of just such an

object in Amsterdam, New York, on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 2300 hrs. (Eastern).
The witnesses managed to capture rather good video footage, which appears to show
clearly the sudden color change of the object from green to red. We will post this shortly.
Orbs that appear possibly to be ascribable to lanterns: Some sightings of orbs appear to
involve the launching of so-called Chinese lanterns, or Sky lanterns, which are powered
by candles, or by other pyrotechnic devices. Based on the photos that have accompanied a
report from Huntington, Texas, , for a sighting there on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016, @
2015 hrs. (Central), we wonder whether this report might be an example of such lanterns.
The objects in the photo seem to us to indicate a pyrotechnic device, illuminating a lighter
colored envelope. We cannot be certain what the objects are, but the quality of the photo is
such, so as to make us wonder whether this might be a relatively rare example of lanterns.
Sonic shock waves over the East Coast: On Thursday, January 28th, NUFORC received a
number of reports from the east coast of peculiar sounding sonic booms, which seemed
to some witnesses to shake the earth. The events were reported by the press from a
number of states along the eastern seaboard, and U. S. military sources quickly reported
that the events had been caused by military aircraft, specifically U. S. Navy F-18s and the
newly introduced F-35s, which apparently is undergoing field testing. However, based on at
least one of the reports submitted to our Center. ((Note: Date is flawed in database, and
should read January 28.)), we have come to question whether the description provided by
the military provides the full story, and another gentleman, Mr. Kurt Story, has come to the
same conclusion. We provide below his analysis of the event:
Description: This is an analysis of the details of a sonic boom event reported along the
New Jersey coast and surrounding areas. The shaking was reported to have occurred
around 1:23:45 PM local time on January 28, 2016. After initial reports of ground movement
came in, the USGS determined this was not an earthquake, but originating in the
atmosphere. They estimated that as many as 9 sonic booms were reported, which the U. S.
Navy has since attributed to a supersonic flyover by two jets in Naval airspace, located
approximately 14 miles offshore.
However, when one digs deeper, this explanation doesn't adequately explain the facts. To
clarify the details, I have included a diagram. The diagram is based on the USGS Did you
feel it? map of the event, which recorded eyewitness shaking reports made to the USGS. I
should point out that people generally contact USGS to report an earthquake, not a loud
sound. In my personal experience with several low-altitude supersonic flyovers, I have
heard a sharp sound/air blast, but felt no ground movement. However, in this case, ground
shaking was reported as far away as 70 miles from the Navy airspace, as shown on the map.
The effects and range of sonic booms has been carefully studied. Ground width of the
boom exposure area is approximately 1 statute mile (1.6 km) for each 1,000 feet (300 m) of
altitude (the width is about five times the altitude); that is, an aircraft flying supersonic at
30,000 feet (9,100 m) will create a lateral boom spread of about 30 miles (48 km). In this
case, we have reports from as far away as 70 miles. So if the sonic booms were generated
offshore in Naval airspace, that means the boom width is twice that, or ~140 miles. Plugging
that value into the equation gives us an altitude of 140,000 feet. This is more than twice the
stated operational altitude of the F-35C, and 3.5X the operational altitude of the F-18.
Therefore, I find it rather difficult to accept the official Navy explanation, as it simply does not

explain all the observational data. Even at first glance, it's hard to imagine how two small
aircraft could displace enough air to cause ground shaking 70 miles away! All the
observational data should be considered to find a better explanation, wherever the facts may
lead us.
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Saturday, June 07th, 1980, @ 1300 hrs. (Central)A
group of high school students, university undergraduates, and at least on Ph.D., sight a
strange, metallic-looking object, seen hovering above a nearby empty field. They are so
taken by its appearance that they exit the restaurant where they are having lunch, in order
to get a better look at the object, and satisfy their curiosity as to its nature.
Tacoma, Washington, Friday, January 22nd, 2016, @ 2355 hrs. (Pacific)An adult
male, who describes himself as a pilot, among other talents, witnesses a fireball fly by his
residence near Interstate 5 in Tacoma, Washington. He estimated it was at an altitude of
500 feet, and traveling at approximately 60 miles per hour.

witnesses observe a total of seven orange objects pass overhead. The objects appeared
to maneuver, and several of them suddenly accelerated and shot up into the night sky.

(local)A father and his two teenage sons, looking out over the ocean from their private
cabin, witness a yellow light in the distance, which suddenly appears to approach the cruise
ship they are aboard. The light draws to within an estimated 100 feet of the ship, both
vertically and laterally, and then accelerates from a dead stop, to gone over the horizon,
within approximately 60 seconds.

If you received reports from Thailand and neighboring countries, of a meteor-like object
seen on Jan 2, just before dawn (6:36 AM), that was the re-entry of 2015-074C / 41107,
which was the second stage of the Zenit-2SB rocket, that launched Russia's Elecktro-L 2
satellite. Its empty mass was 8900 kg.
REPORTS OF FIREBALLS CONTINUE INTO THE 2016
For more than a decade, our Center has attempted to call to the attention of the public the
frequent reports of clusters of red, orange, and yellow fireballsa phenomenon which
appears to us to have suddenly increased in magnitude, beginning in approximately late May
2012. If anything, the frequency of such reports has increased over the last 3-4 years, and
the approximately 289 new reports we post, as of this date, appear to be evidence of that
fact.
We have not counted the reports in this posting that allude to these colorful orbs or
fireballs, but we estimate that type of report constitutes easily half of the reports for the last
two months, and we believe ranges to as high as 70-80 percent of them. What makes the
reports of keen interest to NUFORC, and to other UFO organizations, as well, is that no one
understands what the fireballs are, or where they come from. The only possible prosaic
explanation we can imagine is that the objects are so-called Chinese lanterns, but in many
cases, the objects are reported to be drifting in a direction that is counter to that of the
prevailing local wind at altitude. If that is the case, then the objects are self-propelled, which
rules out the possibility that they could be lanterns.

Canadian air traffic controller witnesses 10-15 distinctly yellow fireballs move slowly across
the southern nighttime sky. He estimated that they were in the vicinity of Bellingham,
Washington State, but he could not be certain of their distance from his vantage point. In a
telephone conversation with NUFORC on January 05th, 2016, the witness averred that the
objects might have been sky lanterns, released at a celebration, but that he had no
objective data as to their nature.

witnesses, and captures on video tape, approximately 20 red fireballs move across the
nighttime sky. One of the fireballs is alleged by the witness to have moved across the sky at

190 Description: The lead mechanic for ((deletedan aviation company)) in Madison, MS,
came inside the FBO and requested that all the employees on staff step outside to witness
the objects.
We initially saw five, red, spherical objects in the western sky, traveling southbound at a
rapid but steady pace. (The objects were approximately two hand widths vertical distance
from ground level). The red light on the objects was not blinking.
All of the objects began to disappear (their red lights faded slowly, as if burning out) once
they all reached the same point in the sky.
A sixth and final object emerged, appearing to lag behind the initial objects but heading in
the same direction and traveling at the same approximate speed. It, too, disappeared once
it reached the same point in the sky.
The entire event lasted between four and seven minutes. The sighting was witnessed at an
airport by personnel who have had numerous years in and around aircraft. This was not
typical aircraft behavior.

male witnesses a dramatic display of square yellow/orange lights in the western sky.
Mitchell, South Dakota, on October 23, 2013, @ 20:50 hrs. A husband and wife
witness a strange light above the interstate highway, which alarms them. Later that evening,
they witness a similar light above their farm, which splits into two separate lights.

California (Pacific Ocean), Saturday, November 07th, 2015, @~5:55 p.m.Seemingly
reliable news reports have confirmed the fact that a U. S. Navy submarine, reportedly the
USS Kentucky, conducted a test firing of an ICBM missile off the coast of California. We
have posted perhaps 50 or 100 of the approximately 250-300 written reports we have
received about that event. In March 1998, our Center received approximately 30 reports of
another submarine ICBM launch off the east coast of Florida that took place on Saturday, the
07th of that month. In that instance, two missiles were fired in rapid sequence, and both
were visible simultaneously in the night sky. Those earlier reports can be accessed among

hours after the so-called Phoenix Lights sightings had ended, an adult male witnesses in
his front yard a tall, bipedal, human-like creature, with a large head, which approaches, and
attempts to enter, the witnesss home. The creature then jumps over a nearby fence, and
disappears in the night. The s that shortly after watching the creature leave his yard, he
witnessed a disc rise out from a nearby field and pass close to his home.
Odessa, Washington, March 17, 1969, @ ~8:00 p.m..We alluded to this report in

SKYMany people have reported witnessing the three bright objects in the early morning
eastern sky, and many have questioned whether they are, in fact, planets. Hence, we
provide below a short video, available through NASA Science News, which addresses the
dramatic display of Venus, Jupiter, and Mars, visible from as early as 2:00 a.m., to as late as
sunrise. We hope that this will resolve the issue of what the three bright objects are.

wife witness an estimated 30-40 peculiar looking, dark objects hovering in the vicinity of
the Fresno-Yosemite Airport. The husband is former military, and a long-time public

male and a female, report having witnessed a huge, triangular-shaped craft, which blotted
out the sky above their heads. The male witness is a former member of the Civil Air Patrol,
and also was a member of NICAP, a UFO investigative organization.
Austin, Texas, on Friday, October 02nd, 2015, @ 0436 hrs. (CDT)An adult male
reports that as he was driving to work, the engine of his vehicle stopped, and all the lights on
his instrument panel extinguished. The driver became aware of a very bright light, many
times the size of a full Moon, which he photographs. After the object disappeared the

FREQUENT REPORTS OF VENUS
Over the last several weeks, we have received many reports of the very bright object that is
visible in the eastern, or southeastern, sky during the early morning hours. It is so bright that
it apparently draws peoples attention, the moment they witness it, and atmospheric
conditions can make the object appear to move and change color. However, the object is
the planet, Venus, and it is not a UFO. We post this statement, hoping to reduce the number
of telephone calls we receive over our Hotline, and the number of written reports, submitted
using our report form.
Ashland, Oregon, Saturday, September 05th, 2015, @ 2330 hrs. (PDT)During their
third night of camping out in their family yard, two young boys suddenly become alert to the
fact that there is an intensely bright, pulsating, source of light above them, and illuminating
their tent. They peek outside, and apparently are seriously frightened to witness a brightly
illuminated disc-shaped object above them. They race inside the house and alert their
father to the event.
Gibbon, Minnesota, Sunday, September 06th, 2015, @ 2100 hrs. (CDT)A husband
and wife, out walking their dogs, become aware of a thin, dark object, which appeared to be
located between them and a distant lightning storm. They quickly realize that it appears to
be getting smaller, suggesting to them that it was moving almost directly away from them.
The object appeared to move slowly into the mass of storm clouds. Husbands Report

Mayflower, Arkansas, Thursday, September 10th, 2015, @ 2021 hrs. (CDT)Three
adults witness a very bright white light move across the night sky, make several abrupt
maneuvers, and then stop motionless in the night sky. The object appeared to display a
complex pattern of blue and white lights. The s that the power in the town of Mayflower was
temporarily interrupted, until the object flew off and disappeared from sight, approximately 2
minutes later.
We also would like to encourage visitors to our site to read the many reports posted for
September 05th and 06th, 2015. NUFORC received 73 written reports for those two days.
Many of those reports describe clusters of red and orange lights, which NUFORC has been
reporting on for many years. This photo, taken over Mt. Washington, Kentucky, on the night
of August 13, 2015, is exemplary of the many such reports our Center has received.

witnesses a very peculiar fan-shaped object in the morning sky, which appeared in the
morning sky only briefly. During the short sighting, the object was seen to spread the top
portion of the object, and then suddenly snap closed. The s that he felt humbled by what
he had just seen.
East Providence, Rhode Island, Saturday, July 25th, 2015, @ 0048 hrs. (EDT)An
airline pilot reports having witnessed an object hovering motionless in the early morning sky,
with strobing red and blue lights. The object starts moving very abruptly, and then descends
quite suddenly, and almost vertically.
Spokane, Washington, Tuesday, July 28th, 2015, @ 1815 hrs. (PDT)An adult male,
and his grown son, witness two very bright objects in the evening sky, almost directly
overhead. Over the course of the next half hour, the two objects appear to move closer to
one another, and drift to the southeast.
Colorado Springs, Colorado, Thursday, July 23rd, 2015, @ 0945 hrs. (MDT)A
group of at least eight co-workers, standing outside during a morning break, witness a gold
colored object hovering motionless in the cloudless blue sky. After approximately 30
minutes, the object just fades away. A photo was taken, but the image of the object is very
small and indistinct.

St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday, July 17, 2015, @ 1544 hrs. (CDT)An adult male was
driving along a perimeter road on the eastern edge of the Spirit of St. Louis Airport, west of
St. Louis, and reports witnessing a very bright object, approximately one tenth the perceived
diameter of the Sun, hovering to the west of the airport. The witness is an aviation specialist,
and reports that the object could not have been an aircraft. (Written report from the

witnesses observe a cluster of three orange lights drift across the nighttime sky. They

Lamoine, Maine, on Wednesday night, July 08th, 2015, @ 2130 hrs. (EDT)An adult
female looks out her bedroom window and sees an estimated 8-10 lighted objects, each
about the size of a baseball, flying in a sporadic manner around her back yard. After a few
seconds, the objects just suddenly disappeared, but they appeared a second time, a short
time later. They disappeared again, but returned for a third visit. The entire event lasted an
estimated 10 minutes.
Germantown, Maryland, on Friday, May 15, 2015, @ 0945 hrs. (EDT)An adult male,
driving on I-270, looked to the west, and witnessed three strange looking objects, flying very
rapidly from his left to right. The two objects in the lead looked like railroad tank cars, but
larger, he thought. They were being followed by a much smaller, dark-colored object, that
appeared to be traveling at the same velocity, and in the same direction, as the other two
objects.
Seattle, Washington, Thursday, July 2nd, 2015, @ 2157 hrs. (PDT)An adult male,
while taking a photograph of downtown Seattle from the vicinity of Lake Union, observes a
streak of light across the viewfinder of his camera. Upon inspecting the photo he had just
taken, he notices two disc-shaped objects, seemingly caught in flight above Lake Union.

Wadley, Georgia, Monday, June 29th, 2015, @ 0128 hrs. (EDT)Enroute from their
home in Georgia to their new assignment location in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a husband
and wife report witnessing a bizarre looking, disc-shaped, metallic-appearing craft cross the
highway in front of their vehicle. The husband, who has 15 years of service in the military,
estimated that the object to have been perhaps as long as 250 meters in length. He also
reported that it was spewing flames out the trailing edge of the disc. The object appeared
to accelerate, ascend, and then it quickly disappeared in nearby clouds. Two renderings

females witness an anomalous red-orange light maneuver overhead for less than a minute,

adults, as they drive south on Interstate 5 near Marysville, witness an estimate 11-13
anomalous orange lights in the night sky.

Lively, Virginia, September 29, 2012, @ 0650 hrs. (Eastern)An adult male
witnesses a tube-shaped object, with strange lights and a transparent nose, hovering just
outside his bedroom window. The strange object suddenly accelerated toward the witnesss
home, and passed directly overhead his location. The next morning, September 30, 2012,
a military helicopter passes directly over the same location, where the object had been seen
hovering, at very low altitude. Witness is an academician. The witness provided the
rendering at right and this photo of the helicopter.
La Grande, Oregon, June 23rd, 2015, @ 0022 hrs. (Pacific)A female truck driver
and her co-driver witness an intensely bright light ahead of their truck, as they are driving
eastbound on I-84, near the Grande Ronde River canyon. As the object continues to
approach their truck, they realize that it is not just one light, but at least four, which appear to
be part of a light bar. The lights are so bright that the witnesses have to avert their eyes
from it. The object passes above the cab of their vehicle, and disappears from the
witnesses sight.

PASSIVE RADAR UPDATE
For the past many years, Peter Davenport has been discussing the possibility of using a
passive radar system for the direct detection of UFOs in the near-Earth environment.
Depending on conditions, a passive system could detect the presence of a UFO, and
other targets, at a distance of thousands, or perhaps tens of thousands, of kilometers above
the surface of the planet. For a discussion of Peters proposal, we would like to direct
visitors to our homepage to the article he wrote in 2004, for presentation at a MUFON
symposium in Denver in July of that year.
We also link here an advertisement for a commercially produced passive radar system,
built in Germany, which exploits the same concept Peter proposes in his paper for detecting
targets, using the reflected signals of commercial radio and television signals off of radar
targets. The advertisement illustrates that passive radar is no longer just a pie in the sky
solution to target detection. It is already being used by governments for the clandestine
detection of aerial targets, and there is no reason that it cannot be used for detecting UFOs,
if they are present in the vicinity of our planet.
In addition, we include a link to a recent (June 15, 2015) article that appeared recently on
BBC news regarding the use of passive radar for air traffic control in the U.K.:
The radar system discussed in the article would detect all targets that reflect
electromagnetic radiation, and not just aircraft of terrestrial origin. The equipment, e.g.
computers, GPS system, etc., are now available which will allow humans, for the first time, to
detect directly the presence of UFOs in the near-Earth environment. We will discuss this
subject again, in the near future.

(Pacific)An adult male, standing outside to watch an overflight of the International Space
Station ISS), sees two small lights that appear to him to be in proximity to it, and pacing it.
(NOTE: Satellite witnessed by witness may not have been the ISS, which would have been
15 degrees above the horizontal plane, during the overflight at 22:36 hrs. Possible sighting
of a triplet of Chinese naval surveillance satellites, we wonder. We will investigate further.

PHENOMENON OF UNEXPLAINED FIREBALLS CONTINUES INTO ITS FOURTH
YEAR
Although our Center has received reports of clusters of fireballs for at least the past 17
years, the number of such reports suddenly increased, beginning sometime during May
2012. We have no idea why this apparent change in the nature of reports, and if so-called
Chinese lanterns can be ruled out, which we believe is typically the case, we then have no
idea what the objects are. We post below a number of reports that will provide an overview
of both the very early reports the Center received, over the past decades, as well as some
of the more recent reports of the same phenomenon:
Rockford, Illinois, February 16, 2000, 2130 hrs. (Central)Many citizens from this
city, including an FAA Air Traffic Controller, reported witnessing a cluster of peculiar orange

Carteret, New Jersey, July 15, 2001, @ 0030 hrs. (Eastern)Hundreds, or perhaps
tens of thousands, of people were witness to a large cluster of yellow lights. The incident

The reports of the fireballs suddenly increased in number, and dramatically so, in May
2012. In fact, they have been so numerous that they now constitute the majority of the
reports submitted to our Center, during most calendar months. We estimate that over the
last three years, we have posted approximately 12,000 such reports! Despite the large
number of the reports we have collected, we have yet to arrive at a conclusion as to what the

Fairfax, Virginia, Thursday, May 07, 2015, @ 2000 hrs. (Eastern)A husband and wife
witnessed a peculiar, round, stationary, brightly illuminated object in the nighttime sky. They
observe the object with binoculars, telephoto camera lenses, and a telescope, and later
determine that the object probably was a weather balloon, or radiosonde. Similar object
reported from Fallston, Maryland, for a sighting there at 1830 hrs. (Eastern). Full Report 1

reports, not because we believe they are related to the sightings of a genuine UFO, but
rather, because the incident illustrates how a motivated witness often is able to investigate a
sighting of an unidentified object, and answer, to his own satisfaction, what the object was.
Based on the photos, and on the investigation by the source of one of the reports above,
our assumption is that the object was, indeed, a radiosonde/weather balloon.
CORRECTION: On April 8th and 17th, we posted reports from two witnesses, who
reported a cluster of tiny white objects seen moving in the nighttime sky above the cities of
Kamploops and Lake Williams, British Columbia. However, we have been apprised by Mr.
Ted Molczen, a volunteer with the SeeSat-L group of volunteer satellite trackers, that the
objects were probably fragments of the Dragon 2nd stage rocket of the Falcon 9 supply
capsule, which had been launched just a few hours before the sightings. We express our
sincere gratitude to Mr. Molczen for sharing the information with NUFORC. We would like
to note here that the three witnesses described the objects they had witnessed in perfect
detail, for which we compliment them. They reported having witnessed at least four tiny
white objects, possibly more, two of which were quite noticeably larger than the others. That
is almost exactly what several of the SeeSat-L ground observers reported, as well. The
larger objects are thought to have been the shrouds around the satellite, which were
jettisoned from the satellite, once it had exited the Earth s atmosphere. Full Report 1 Full

and he had the presence of mind to take two photos of the object with his cell phone. The
object accelerated away from the area so quickly that the witness almost did not have time

a very peculiar object being hauled westbound on Interstate 10, which appeared to straddle

(local/estimated)A massive, blue flash occurred, which was visible from at least as far
away as 280 kilometers. Witnesses thought that the flash had been caused by neither
lightning, nor a meteor, although no definitive conclusion had been reached, at the time news

And yes, you have right in there, every pen or fountain pen or charcoal pen or graphite,
whatever, have its personality, and the letters come out different, some with a little
difference, others with a big one. it kind of magic. I used to buy tons of ball pens, but always
having four or five fountain pens. The fountain pen for me was always a nuisance as they
tend to clog and didnt right, and then I went to the dishwasher and clean it with soap and a
cup, but no matter that, sometimes in the writing process it clogs again. And the secret of it
is the ink. If its not micro-filtered, it clogs. The one I buy its the Parker, and never again a
problem, except if the fountain pen has the nib not well adjusted from the factory, but looking
at videos here on youtube, I have learnt how to deal with it. I begin looking a man from
Netherlands that always speak about fountain pens, and I begin increasing my four fountain
pen "collection", and now I guess I have more than 300 fountain pens, really nuts but here I
go buying every fountain pen that I didnt have. I am a science fiction writer, and in my youth
I used ball pens, then when the computers come along, i begin writing with them, but since
about 12 years ago, the machine just distract me a lot, so I come back to handwriting and
then I edited with the computer. To write a lot a fountain pen is easier. Well, since a couple
of years I quit "editing" with the computer- I guess the age catch up with me, and I only scan
the copybooks and made pdf with them. Of course, they are not edited, so some errors gets
in between, but I guess I prefer to keep on writing instead of "edit" what is already there.

About The Monster Times:
The Monster Times was a horror film fan magazine created in 1972. Published by The
Monster Times Publishing Co., it was intended as a competitor to Famous Monsters Of
Filmland. Although the main editorial focus of the magazine was horror media, it also
featured articles and reviews of modern and classic science fiction/fantasy movies and
television series, as well as comic books. Each issue featured a fold-out centerfold poster
usually based on that particular issue's feature story.
The Monster Times was edited at various times in its formative years by Chuck R.
McNaughton, Allen Asherman, Joe Brancatelli and Tom Rogers. Joe Kane (who later
assumed the nom de plume The Phantom of the Movies for newspaper columns and
books) took over as editor with Issue # 11 (June 14, 1972), and remained in that capacity
until the periodical's demise. The publishers were art directors Larry Brill and Les Waldstein,
who were the original designers for the pornographic weekly tabloid Screw and also worked
for Famous Monsters Of Filmland and other Jim Warren publications in the late 1960s.
The first issue is dated January 26, 1972. Printed on newspaper-quality paper stock, with a
more refined white paper for covers and other content in earlier issues, the magazine was
published on a biweekly schedule for its first fourteen issues, then switched to monthly until
1975, at which point it became a bi-monthly publication.
Its final few issues were published erratically, and the title ceased publication in July of 1976
with issue # 48.
Contributing writers and photographers included Michael Uslan, Joe Kane, Doug Murray,
Allan Asherman, Phil Seuling, Buddy Weiss, Frank Verzyl, Dean Latimer, Edward Summer,
Joe Brancatelli, Manny Maris, and Jason Thomas (aka Tom Rogers). Contributing artists
included Gray Morrow, Jeff Jones, and Bernie Wrightson.

I have another here. One day, being a toddler, I realize the sky was the ground and the
ground was hanging over it, my feet were on the ground but the ground was upside down.
For me to come back to the normal situation we call "to see things" cost me a lot of effort,
so the time "suspended head down" was terrified and lasted I think two or three minutes. I
was alone, and nobody in sight, at that time. And thinking later on it, we are like flies walking
by the ceiling. The ceiling being this ball of Earth. In that time I begin to think I must pretend
all goes well, looking at the rest of the people around me... I , so to speak, begin to "play the
game" pretending it was normal to see the sky and pretends it "over" me.
Second occurrence. My broter died in a ship explosion, I decided to be at the sea, so with
my family we went to the beach. Being there, my sister told me to see at the sky, and there I
read the name of my brother in low flying white passing clouds. I was astounded.
Third occurrence. I saw in my imagination something moving fast to and fro at my garden
(about 14 meters long) and it did moves about six times. I say I saw in my imagination: it is
difficult to explain, but I was knowing "something" was moving fast, perhaps a blurr or
something. That was in the night- well , the foster grand mother of my woman died at that
exact night.
Fourth occurrence. My wife calls me to see the three lamp bulbs lamp at her bedroom that it
was moving without pause. I went there and I saw her bedded and looking at the lamp; this
lamp moved about five minutes, never before or after it has been this happening: the room
has no windows! That day , 1500 kilometers away, an old lady who was very attached to my
woman, died.
I saw with my imagination a woman in white smiling at me inside the room I was painting. It
dissolved after passing between an armchair and a furniture- there was no way to escape
from there as the door (an old big one) was closed and the furniture was close to it. I told my
woman: I saw a ghost. She said: Was a woman in white? - And I said yes. She said she have
seen her but that she doesnt told me so because I could have think she was crazy.

One day, tired of to feel myself "looking upon", I ask whoever was near, to presents before
me. It did not !present" before me, but with my imagination , later on, I saw a being 1.20
meters tall, come from behind me, walk fast and stay in front of me, smiling broadly and with
a big mouth- it was black and it has round black and big eyes, not resembling a human being
but indeed a humanoid of some kind. I never "see " him again- nor i will it !
That is all I have seen and "seen". I say that when not looking with the eyes but with the
mind, its "imagination", but as you read this, people has seen the same . This occurrences
are not one after the other: I have more than seventy years of age, and in that scope of time
I have had these six occurrences, that you could conccur with me, it has been in scant
occassions, taking in account that I have 72 years, and this occurrences appears very
erratically through the years.
So I am sure there is something more than we could not grasp. There is something more
than humans in here.
