For students who need support with the concept, teacher will give
additional instruction, provide support during guided practice
(Homophone Rummy). Students who move quickly through the activity
are encouraged to play more than one round of the game. Teacher can
switch out the deck for different homophones for students to identify and
pair during other word study time. Students are also asked to use each
word in the homophone pair to show understanding of the meaning of the
words through context. This will be how students will be able to determine
that the pair is correct.
Guided Practice (20 minutes):
-Guide students through proper gameplay for Homophone Rummy.
