Semester Long Project: Homelessness
Overview:
In our semester long project we will be discussing the lives of homeless people in the
United States, how they became homeless, and the cycle of homelessness that they are a part of.
We will focus more on the lives people who are affected by homeless rather than homelessness
in a broader sense. Through Prezi, we will explain our topic providing statistical data, research,
and video examples.
Project Plan:
To showcase our information we plan on using Prezi to design our presentation. We
believe this will make our project more interactive. By using Prezi, we can make our project
public, allowing future students to take advantage of our information. Most of our media assets
are free through the internet, we will not have to pay for access to certain websites. We will also
tie in a video clip from a homeless documentary on Netflix. Our research will be integrated by
referring back to our recurring motif of the life of a homeless person.
Justification:
Our proposed plan is effective for our topic because it makes homelessness, an
unfathomable lifestyle to most, more personable and relatable. Its easier to understand the topic
of homelessness when people arent just looking at statistics and data and actually seeing

someone elses daily life. The negative connotations associated with homelessness sometimes
overshadow the actual problems these people face on a daily basis. The audience should care
about our topic because homelessness is a growing issue in America. More and more people are
falling out of the middle class and into poverty, which is a stepping stone to homelessness. The
more homeless people there are, the less people we have in the United States to contribute to our
economy. If for no other reason, the audience should care from an economic standpoint and how
it will affect their future.
Roles and Responsibility:
Jeff:I will be responsible for most of the technical aspects of our project. Pictures, data,
graphs, and video will be incorporated into our project. I will also help in all other aspects of
research and information gathering.
Cayla: I will be responsible for the overall flow of our Prezi. I will help find pictures,
videos, and data to integrate into our presentation. I will also be responsible for gathering
information and research.

Conclusion
We plan on ending the presentation by summing up our whole project. We want to put all
the information we researched condensed into a brief paragraph. We will highlight the most
important aspects of our topic. The takeaway message for our presentation is that we want to
showcase a particular persons battle with homelessness. Looking at statistical data and research
is one thing, seeing a person's actually struggle is another. We feel diving deeper into this topic
will allow us and the audience to establish an emotional connection to the homeless. We also
want to rid of the negative connotation associated with all homeless people.
