Strengths of the lesson:

Jawaher has decided to tackle the middle of the lesson. She begins by asking
students which level/center they want to participate in. During our post-lesson
discussion, Jawaher was able to justify this choice and to explain why it was
successful (ie. because the girls are fairly good at self-assessment).
What was very clear: the students appreciated being given this choice, and this
resulted in them taking on the task enthusiastically!!

Overall, Jawaher understands her role as a teacher: she is attentive to the students
needs and tries to address these by using varied and differentiated strategies. Jawaher
is very intuitive.

Jawaher came across as being very knowledgeable about the topic; she was very well
prepared for this lesson and did not show any signs of stress or being nervous.

Jawaher addressed her students SOLELY in English; and the students always
addressed Jawaher in English as well (despite the difficult subject matter). Fantastic!

Jawaher spent most of the lesson (the Middle part she chose to teach) working with
the lower level groups. She still kept an eye on the other groups (who also had support
from the MST). Excellent!

Jawaher spent the entire lesson actively supporting students!!! She did not
stop for a minute!

Also, Jawaher understands the necessary balance between teacher support and
independent student work.

Overall, Jawaher has good classroom management (although even better

management will come with experience). She managed transitions (from tables to
carpet area) very effectively and with great confidence!

Jawaher has an excellent disposition in class: she is very pleasant and positive, helpful
and accessible, but her body language conveys to students that she is here to work and
she expects the students to seriously engage in work.

At the end of the lesson, Jawaher supported the instructions given to students by her
MST by (1) repeating the instructions and (2) by listing examples to student who were
not engaging in the task. Very well done!

For a 2nd semester student, Jawaher is progressing extremely well!!! The areas that
she needs to develop pertain to 3rd and 4th semester students!
I encourage Jawaher to keep taking initiative and to take risks practicing new
methods and new strategies. Jawaher has the natural teacher intuition and she is
