Reflection
There are a variety of ways in which this goal was met during my practicum experience. I
believe, that over that last 5 weeks I have experienced many ways in which the students,
and my teacher associate use technology into the classroom. For example she lets the
student have 1 hour a week to use the computers to research any topic of their liking. This is
called genius hour. One big way that I integrated technology into the classroom is the use of
SMART notebook. This helped me to see where the students where at in the class, as well as
helped integrate participation and class discussion into the class. Here is an example of a
SMART notebook lesson that I used to help teach word problems to my grade 2 class.

Another way that I successfully used technology in the classroom was the use of videos off of
YouTube. For example while learning about the days of the week, it was easier for the
students to learn a song then to memorize the days of the week without. Therefore I used
YouTube to show a video with the song days of the week to the tune of the Adams family.

YouTube, can help the visual and auditory learners in the classroom, because they have a
chance to see and hear the song/the concept.
The last way in which my T.A. and I integrated technology into the classroom was through the
programs called reading eggs and Mathletics. These programs stick students at their ability
levels and it helps them practice the concepts they need to know. Here is what the reading

Reflection
In the past 5 weeks I have really learned a lot about classroom management, and ways in
which to integrate classroom management strategies into the classroom. During practicum is

it very difficult to integrate your own strategies, therefore you need to learn the strategies
from you T.A. some ways that I learned was the call hands on top the students then must
reply that means stop and place their hands on their heads. This management strategy is
used to help grab the students attention so that we can transition from one activity to the
next. Here is a picture to help visualize what it looks like in the classroom.

The next management strategy that I used quite a bit in my classroom was counting down
from 10. This helped speed up the transition from one activity to the next if they were going
to slow. The one thing about this strategy is that sometimes I felt like I was counting down
more than once. However when I wasnt this helped to ease the transition from one activity
to the next

The nal management strategy that I used was classroom dojo. This is a site that helped to
keep students on task. If they are working hard, and on task they can earn more points the
more points they earn the better chance that they will receive a prize. As noted before this
strategy is used to help keep students on task and working hard especially when you want
them working quietly.
