Course Description
In grade 7, instructional time should focus on four critical areas: (1) developing
understanding of and applying proportional relationships; (2) developing understanding
of operations with rational numbers and working with expressions and linear equations;
(3) solving problems involving scale drawings and informal geometric constructions, and
working with two- and three-dimensional shapes to solve problems involving area,
surface area, and volume; and (4) drawing inferences about populations based on
samples. The standards are fully explained on the California Common Core Standards
website http://www.cde.ca.gov/be/st/ss/documents/ccssmathstandardaug2013.PDF

Late/Make-Up Work
If a student is in class, late work will not be accepted. In case of an absence, it is the
responsibility of the student to set a time with me to make up missing assignments. If
the student is not able to complete an assignment due to emergency personal reasons,
it is also their responsibility to communicate with me.
Extra Credit Policy and Procedures
Extra credit assignments are given periodically. It is the students choice whether they
would like to participate or not. Extra credit will be offered at the teachers discretion.
Students should not rely on extra credit as a means for getting a high grade in the class.
Office Hours
Math tutoring is available before class every Tuesdays (7am-8am) and after class on
Thursdays (2pm-3pm). If any of these times dont work for your schedule, it is the
students responsibility to get in contact with the teacher and set a different time.
