A post at the Musiker-Board was created by a user who was kind enough to do exhaustive research
on the actions of various pro keyboards and digital pianos and share with the world. I have always
been obsessed with the actions of keyboards and how natural they feel to me when playing different
styles. I have always liked Fatar actions and specically the action (Fatar TP9 Piano) in my Studiologic
numa compact purchased earlier this year at B&H.

My latest addition to my keyboard arsenal, the Kurzweil PC3LE6, apparently has the Fatar TP8 Piano
action installed in it. Though the action is a decent and sturdy product, I am nding it a little tightly
sprung for my needs. I am hoping to nd a way to replace the action with the Fatar TP9 Piano like my
Studiologic numa compact or get a retrot sold by Syntaur which may or may not be still available.
UPDATE! In January 2015 I purchased a Kurzweil SP4-7 and sold myKurzweil PC3LE6. I was
really hating the PC3LE6 action. I am LOVING the Kurzweil SP4-7which has theMedeli
KB76FPU action in it lightly weighted without the overly-sprung, spongy feel of thePC3LE6
action (Fatar TP / 8Piano). To me theMedeli KB76FPU feels very similar to theFatar TP9 Pianoin
myStudiologic numa compact. I have never been a huge fan of the weighted actions in any
digital pianos, keyboards, or workstations. No matter how well they are made I always feel on the
fence about them though some are really quite good. No offense to those that love them. This is
just a personal preference as I can play more uidly on the SP4-7 than on any weighted action
keyboard whether I am playing piano, organ, synth or orchestral parts.
The Kurzweil PC3K6 apparently has a TP9S action in it but the specs at Kurzweil dont specify
whether it is the Fatar TP9S unweighted or weighted though the post says they ARE weighted. By
looking at the PC3K6 picture, it obviously does NOT have the organ waterfall or piano type keys.
