Your first assignment was to write a paragraph about your own understanding & Philosophy of Islam and
now with the help of this reading excerpt you will write another paragraph to elucidate the following;

What ideas were in congruence with your own?

The ideas that were congruent in mine were, believing in Faith, five pillars of Islam, and teachings about
our prophets.
What new ideas did you discover in the reading?
I learnt that what were the punishments for people, who were disbelievers and disobeyed Allah and his
messenger, who was sent to spread Islam. I learnt Allah has divine Decree over all and worshipping Him
alone is the basis of all the teachings, sacred texts and revelations . I learned more about the five pillars
of Islam. The stories of the prophets.

What questions arise as a result of your reading and still need discussion?

Why doesn't God change people's paths if he knows people's destiny? Why does he want them to suffer?
Allah is Almighty, He has power over everything.
What are your thoughts to others (class students) responses?
