Dimsum Break: Dynamic Dim Sum

Experience Now in SM North Edsa

Dimsum is the most common if not famous comfort food. Dim sum refers to a style of Chinese
food prepared as small bite-sized or individual portions of food traditionally served in small
steamer baskets or on small plates. Dim sum is also well-known for the unique way it is served
in some restaurants, wherein fully cooked and ready-to-serve dim sum dishes are carted around
the restaurant for customers to choose their orders while seated at their tables.

Dimsum Break first opened its doors in SM North Edsa Annex around October and I was lucky
to be part of the Media Launch held last November 15, 2012. When I stayed in Cebu for almost
2yrs, Dimsum Break is one of my favorite restaurants there. Its really famous in Cebu for its
combination of great food and simple, fast and interactive service.

At the newly opened store in SM North Edsa, the new interactive service is found. This setup
allows customers to get their dim sum in a dash. All they have to do is line up at the counter,
personally get their dim sum favorites, pay at the cashier, and be on their way to enjoy the food
be it in store or out.

It is perfectly positioned to answer the needs and demands of fast-paced lifestyles while paying
homeage to the tradition of authentic dim sum dining.

The newest store setup of Dimsum Break exudes a warm, light and cozy atmosphere to maintain
customer involvement through its signature interactive setup at the counter. Modernized
equipment and display areas ensure that the freshly cooked food is within easy reach of the
customer without sacrificing food quality and safety.

This is our first fast food chain in Luzon, but including Visayas region, it is already our 16th
branch. We are optimistic that this number will continue to increase. Our confidence is based on

the significant investment and development we have put in the past five years to support our
growing branch network, shares Steven Kokseng Marketing Manager.
Dimsum Break, the fastest growing brand of Harbour City Dimsum House Co., Inc (HCDHCI)
based in Cebu, has a total of 16 branches (11) Dimsum Break branches, (3) Harbour City
brannches and (1) Ding Qua Qua branch, all strategically located all over Metropolitan Cebu.

Heres what was served to us

Transcending the traditional boundaries of Chinese-themed restaurants, Dimsum Break offers a
modern take on the quintessential tea house, attuned with todays urbanized and fast-paced
lifestyles. Ingenuity and innovation gave way to another novel means of serving dim sum, the
interactive style.

We were also introduced to Dimsum Breaks affordable and wide dim sum selection. Compared
to the existing and more popular Chinese restaurants chains in Manila, Dimsum Break has the
widest selection of dim sum. On the counter is a display of over 20 steamed and fried dim sum
dishes ready for customers picking.

And your Dimsum Break experience wouldnt be complete without their famous Steamed Fried
Rice. It is fried rice topped with chunks of pork cutlets in a thick and luscious brown sauce. It
may not win any food styling awards but dont be fooled by its appearance because this Steamed
Fried Rice is incredibly DELICIOUS! The chunky sauce was full of flavor and it perfectly
mixed with the fried rice underneath.

The brand Dimsum Break has become synonymous with authentic, quality dim sum cuisine,
served from the heart at pocket-friendly rates. A complete package meal would cost a customer
only Php133 an order of dim sum at Php65 plus the cost of the rice pot at Php68.

HCDDHCI is highly optimistic about the future as it expands its fast food business outside Cebu.
And I must say, Dimsum Break is definitely ready to conquer Manila.
