Event Reflection

The event that I attended was called the Poetry Slam which occurred on September 17,
2016. At this event, the purpose was for students to express poetry that they may have created
themselves to an audience. I enjoyed the event because some students really expressed to my
issued with the world and also they expressed true pain in everyday life that you wouldnt think
people personally experience. Two concepts that I was most intrigued by was the poems about
police brutality and another student who had a personal life experience about being molested at a
younger age but she still stands strong today. This impacted my experience at NC A&T because
it shows me that its okay the be more open around people and also that we can make a
difference in the world.
