At the
314th zieeting,
the Fresident
informed
the Council of his consultation
vith
the 3iediator regarding the interpretation
of the Council's resolution
of
29 IMay 1948 (docurrant s/801).
The representative
of the USSR requested that the Security Council
clarify
the method by which military
observers Were to be sent and assigned
to the Mediator end the Truce Commission for the supervision
of the
cease fire and truce agreement.
At the 31'7th meeting, the President drew to the attention of the
Council two communications (documenti s/830 and s/831) from the Mediator
concerning the acceptance by the parties of a truce in Palestine. Discussion
w+s tLeen resumedwith regard to the implementation of that part of the
Council~s resolution of 29 Xay where it was aeciaea that military observers
would be sent to Palestine to essist the Mediator and the !Cruce Commission.
