I. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:
Cognitive:
demonstrates ways of keeping the ears healthy;
Affective:
give some ways of taking care of the eyes and ears;
Psychomotor:
practice health habits in caring for the ears.

Guide questions:
1. What are the different eye ailments and defect?
2. What are the different ear ailments?
C. Science Trivia
The students will present a science trivia about sense of sight and sense of hearing.

D. MOTIVATION
1. Let the teacher show a video clips about the commercial of EO.
2. The teacher should ask the students what is the video all about.
A. Pre Activity
1. The teacher introduces the lessons, the activity and its objectives.
2. Students shall be oriented on the materials to be used in the activity and on safety precautions that
must be observed during the activity and the criteria on how to assess student performance.
3. Student shall be informed of the time limit for the activity as well s the need to show that they
understood the lesson.
4. The class shall form 5 groups.
B. Activity Proper
Group Activity: Lights, Camera, Action!
1. The students will make an infomercial about taking of their eyes and ears.
2. Then they will present their work.

Guide Questions:
1. What should you do to keep your eyes healthy?
2. What should you do to keep your ears healthy?
D. Abstraction
1. Let the teacher shows video presentation in taking care of their eyes and ears.
2. Students will be asked questions to solicit the following concepts:
Caring for eyes
1. Read in a well-lighted place.
2. Do not read while in a moving vehicle.
3. Rest your eyes when they are tired. Limit the time you spend using the computer.
4. Observe proper distance when watching television
5. Eat vitamin A-rich foods such as squash, potatoes, carrots, eggs, cheese and spinach.
6. Never look directly at the sun or at a very bright light.
7. Do not rub your eyes to avoid irritating them.
8. Consult an ophthalmologist or optometrist when you experience any sight problems.

Caring for the ears


1. Clean your ears regularly with a clean cloth or with cotton buds.
2. Keep the volume of your radio, television and other sound devices low.
3. Stay away from exploding firecrackers. The strong force of the air may enter your ear; it can press too
hard on your eardrum and break.
4. When swimming or diving, protect the eardrums by wearing a cap, or using earplugs.
5. When affected by ear diseases, see an otolaryngologist, a specially trained doctor for ear diseases.
6. Know the first-aid treatment for ear injury.
E. Application
You should always be thankful for having healthy eyes.
1. There are people who are not lucky to see the beautiful creations of God. How will you help
them appreciate life in spite of their inability to see?
2. You see a group of children teasing a girl who is deaf or mute. What will you do?
F. Assessment
Directions: Make a poster that gives information how to take care their eyes and ears.
