In Homework Response 3, try to notice whether or not your feelings towards Alex have changed.

If so, how have they changed? What is Alex doing (as the narrator) or Anthony Burgess doing
(as the author) to affect your feelings towards Alex? Revisit our discussion about whether or not
Alex is evil and about whether or not Alex can be redeemed.
Next, respond to at least one thing that stands out to you from Jimmy Carter's TED talk and at
least one thing that stands out to you about Bret Easton Ellis's essay. Find at least one thing in
each of these texts that you found particularly true, that you connected with, that annoyed you,
or that sparked your curiosity.
Finally, write at least FOUR possible inquiry questions based on the novel or on the other texts
assigned for today.

In my previous HW response I stated that I thought Alex was a good kid that is lost. Im starting
to reevaluate that thought. I have taken psychology classes before and I honestly think Alex has
antisocial personality disorder. A person with antisocial personality disorder often feels little or
no empathy toward other people, and doesnt see the problem in bending or breaking the law for
their own needs or wants. In the very beginning of part 2, Alex is happy to hear about the death
of his friend Georgie. Only someone who is mentally sick would feel joy when hearing about the
death of someone no matter what they may have been through. I think that the 2 week program
that Alex went through was effective for the moment but wont last forever.

I agree with most of what Mr. Carter has to say except the "misinterpretation of scripture" part.
There is no misinterpretation of scripture here, there are several accounts of misogyny in the
Bible, it is very clearly stated, there is no interpretation required.

I think the Generation Wuss article is a bunch of crap. This article makes it seem like my
generation is the worst generation of all times. Does the generation above us not realize that
theyre the ones that raised us? The author of this article says, The only way to elevate yourself
in society is through your brand, your profile, your social media presence and that is not entirely
true. Social media is just another way for us to express ourselves freely and connect with people
from across the world. Some people do use social media as a platform to get famous but thats
not the case for most people.

1. Will the punishment Alex endured be used in the future for criminals who have no
remorse?
2. Will women work just as hard as the LBGT groups to fight for their rights?

3. If social media is such a great concern to the generation above us, will they find a
way to more closely monitor their children?
4. In what ways does womens rights need to be reformed?
