How would you feel if somebody just walked in a movie theatre and just
shoot it up because they thought it will be a cool prank? Where you just drop
off your child with their friends to go watch the new batman movie. Your child
is dead now because somebody thought they could be joker, and kill
everyone in the theatre, what do you think they should do to that killer. I
believe that would should have capital punishment in all 50 states instead of
having them in 30 states.
I read an article online on teenink that said the death penalty violates the
right to life as proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
(adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948). We treat
prisoners like animals. Committing a violent crime does not make someone
any less of a human being, and sadly, it seems a human trait to commit
heinous crimes. The death penalty will not prevent a person from repeating a
crime he or she did not commit in the first place. On the contrary, one study
found that the death penalty causes juries to acquit murderers due to the
fear of making a mistake that would result in an innocent person being
executed.
More and more states are adopting the death penalty. As of April 1, 2008, the
death penalty was authorized by 37 states, the Federal Government, and the
