Congratulations on your purchase of the electronic musical instrument!
The keyboard`s ROM contains 142 permanent voices including 12 Chinese traditional voices and 2 Drum
kits.The keyboard also has the 60 ROM Songs which provide MELODY OFF Mode for user learning and
the 100 ROM Styles with the A.B.C (Auto Bass Chord) playing mode. The operating function menu allows
you to perform more easily.
Before you use the electronic, we recommend you to carefully read through this manual. Please keep this
instruction manual for futrue reference.

Care of Your Keyboard


Your keyboard will give you years of playing pleasure if you follow the simple rules given below:

Location

Do not expose the unit to the following


conditions to avoid deformation, discoloration, or
more serious damage.
Direct sunlight.

High temperature (near a heat source, or in

a car during the day time).


Excessive humidity.

Excessive dust.

Strong vibration

Cleaning

Power Supply

Disconnect all cables before moving the


instrument.
Physical shocks caused by dropping, bumping, or placing heavy objects on the instrument can result in scratches and more
serious damage.

Turn the power switch OFF when the


instrument is not in use.
If an AC adaptor is used, it should be
unplugged from the AC outlet if the
instrument is not to be used for an extended
period of time.
Unplug the AC adaptor during electric
storms.
Avoid plugging the AC adaptor into the
same AC outlet as appliance with high
power consumption, such as electric
heaters or ovens. Also avoid using multiplug adaptors since these can result in
reduced sound quality, operation errors, and
possibly damage.

Clean the cabinet and panel with a dry soft


cloth.
A slightly damp cloth may be used to
remove stubborn grime and dirt.
Never use cleaners such as alcohol or
thinner.
Avoid placing vinyl object on top of the unit
(vinyl can stick to and discolor the surface).

Electrical Interference

This instrument contains digital circuitry and


may cause interference if placed too close
to radio or television receivers. If this occurs,
move the instrument further away from the
affected equipment.

Turn Power OFF When Making


Connections

To avoid damage to the instrument and


other devices to which it is connected, turn
the power switches of all related device OFF
prior to connecting or disconnecting cables.

Handling and Transport

Never apply excessive force to the controls,


connectors or other parts of the instrument.
Always unplug cables by gripping the plug
firmly, but not pulling on the cable.

Main Features
Sound Generation:
The sounds are based on PCM and Wavetable technology.

Operation system:
You can select the Voices and Styles conveniently with the Direct Select Button on the panel.

Voice:

Style Chord Mode:


When A.B.C is set to on, the auto accompaniment function automatically generates bass and chord
accompaniment for you to play along with, by using either the 'Single Finger' or 'Finger' method.

Record Mode:
It allows you to record with 3 (2 melody tracks and 1 accompaniment track) tracks separately, and to
play with any tracks.

Memory:
4 banks with 4 memories each.

Other Feature:
DSP effect (on/off),Piano Mode,Modulation and sustain pedal .

Power Supply
This electronic keyboard can be powered by current
from a standard household wall outlet (using the
specified AC adaptor) or by batteries.

Using The AC Adaptor


MIDI IN

Make sure that only the AC adaptor specified for


this electronic keyboard is used. The adaptor shall
be 12V DC output, and center positive type. Be sure
to turn off the electronic keyboard before you
connect the adaptor into the AC wall outlet and the
cord into the unit.

CAUTIONS!
Use only the specified AC adaptor. Use of another
type of adaptor creates a danger of fire and
electrical shock.
For safety sake, be sure to unplug the AC adaptor
from the wall outlet whenever leaving
the electronic keyboard unattended for a long time.

Using Batteries
Always make sure to turn the keyboard off before
inserting new batteries or replacing old ones.

To insert the batteries


1. Open the battery compartment on the underside of
the keyboard.
2. Insert 6 D size (SUM-1, R-20) batteries into the
battery compartment and noting the correct polarity.
3. Replace the compartment cover and make sure it
locks firmly in place.

Low battery indications


Any of the following symptoms indicate low battery
power. Replace the batteries as soon as possible
whenever any of the following occurs.
A dim and difficult-to-read LCD display
Abnormally low speaker/headphone volume.
Distortion of the sound output.
Sudden power failure when playing at high volume.
Abnormal playing of the rhythms or demo songs.
Dimming of the display when playing at high volume.

CAUTIONS!
When inserting batteries, make sure to follow the
polarity marking.
Never use batteries of different types.
Never mix old batteries with new ones.
Replace the batteries as soon as possible after any
sign of discharge.
Always remove the batteries from the keyboard's
batteries compartment when the keyboard is not
expected to be useed for a long period of time.

Connections
The Headphone Jack
MIDI IN

If you prefer to play with headphone for high quality


personal monitoring, plug a stereo headphone set
into the rear panel PHONES jack.
Plugging a set of headphones into the PHONES
jack shut off the speakers automatically.

The Aux. Out Jack


MIDI IN

The AUX. OUT jack delivers the output of the


keyboard for connection to an external amplifier.
Using an audio cord, plug into AUX. OUT jack
located on the rear panel. Then plug the other end
of the cord into LINE IN or AUX. IN of the amplifier.

An optional footswitch can be plugged into the


SUSTAIN jack for sustain control. The footswitch
functions like the damper pedal on a piano-press
for sustain, release for normal sound.

an external MIDI device.

generated by the electronic keyboard to an
external MIDI device.

DEFINITION:
MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a worldstandard digital communi-cations interface/language
that allows multiple electronic instruments, computers,
and other related device to communicate with each
other within a connection.

! WARNING:
To avoid damage to the instrument and other
devices to which it is connected, turn the power
switches of this keyboard and all related devices
OFF when you want to plug in or unplug between
this instrument and all related devices.

Selecting & Playing a Voice


Voice number
142 voice at all (see Appendix), including 128
GM voice, 12 Chinese voices, and 2 percussion
voices.

Voice setting
Press [VOICE] button to enter voice mode .The
default VOICE R1 is No.001; LCD displays the
voice flag and the voice number.

1. Press [UP]/[DOWN] button to select the voice you


want.

2. Use direct select button to select the voice(among


30 voices), 2 direct voices each button(upper &
nether)

NOTE:
When changing the voice, pay attention to the rules:
If press the same button, the voice will be changed
between upper and nether.
When the upper/nether voice is on, and then you
press the other direct button, the corresponding
upper/nether voice will be selected.

Voices & Effects


Dual Voice
The keyboard has the dual voice. You can use this
function to get new voices.
1. Press [DUAL] button to turn on the DUAL VOICE.
VOICE R1 lights off, VOICE R2 and dual flag are
both lightened. The dual voice number is also
displayed on the LCD.
2. Press [UP]/[DOWN] button to select the dual voice
number. The default dual voice number is No. 50:
Strings 2.
3. Press [DUAL] button again to turn off the DUAL
VOICE.

NOTE:
In DUAL VOICE status, only the right area of
keyboard has the dual voice.

Split/Lower Voice
You can split the keyboard to right and left area in
this function.
1. Press [LOWER VOICE] button to turn on the lower
voice. LCD lights the lower voice flag and displays
VOICE L and its number.
2. Press [UP]/[DOWN] button to select other lower
voices . The default lower voice is No. 50: Strings2.
3. Press [LOWER VOICE] button again to turn off the
lower voice. LCD darks the lower voice flag.

Sustain
1. Press [SUSTAIN] button to turn on the sustain
effect. LCD lights the sustain flag. In this mode, the
keyboard has the sustain effect.
2. Press [SUSTAIN] button again to turn off the
sustain effect. LCD darks the sustain flag.

NOTE:
When setting the pedal as the sustain pedal (see
function), the sustain effect by pedal is stronger than
the effect by pressing [SUSTAIN] button.

DSP Effect
The DSP effect is set to ON automatically when you
turn on the power. Press [DSP] button to turn off
the DSP effect.

Touch Response
The default touch response number is 2, and the
touch flag is lightened on LCD.
Press [TOUCH] button to change the touch
response level to 1,2,3 and off.

Modulation
Press and hold [MODULATION] button. You can
hear modulation effect when playing the keyboard.
Release the button to stop the modulation effect.

Pitch Bend

The pitch band wheel can be used to bend the note


lower or higher, range between +/- 2 cent. When
release the wheel, the note will be back to the
normal status.

Selecting & Playing a Style


Style Number
The keyboard has 100 styles at all, from 001 to 100.
The default style is 001. Press [STYLE] button to
enter to the style mode. LCD lights the style flag
and displays the style number.

Style Setting
1. Press [UP]/[DOWN] button to select the style you
want.

2. Use direct select button to select the style(among


24 styles), 2 direct styles each button(upper &
nether)

Style Control
Start the Style
1. Start button:
Use [START/STOP] button to start the style.

2. Sync start:
Press [SYNC] button. 4 beats on LCD flash
simultaneously in current tempo.
Press [INTRO/ENDING] button to insert INTRO
(LCD lightens the intro flag. Playing the keyboard at
that time, the style plays automatically.)

NOTE:
If A.B.C mode is off, play any key on keyboard to start
the style.
If A.B.C mode is on, only play the chord area key to
start the style with the Auto Bass Chord
accompaniment.

Stop the Style


1. Press [START/STOP] button to stop the style.

2. STOP AFTER ENDING: When the style is playing,


press [INTRO/ENDING] button, the style will stop
after the ENDING over.

3. SYNC STOP: press [SYNC STOP] button and


release the keyboard, the keyboard will stop the
style and flash the 4 beats together.

Fill in A/B
1. In NORMAL mode, press [FILL-IN A] button to
insert 1 measure fill and LCD flashes 'A'. After one
measure is over, NORMAL style will be returned.
2. In VARIATION mode, press [FILL-IN B] button to
insert 1 measure fill and LCD B flashes 'B', After
one measure is over, VIRIATION style will be
returned.
3. In NORMAL mode, press [FILL-IN B] button to
insert 1 measure fill and LCD flashes 'B'. After one
measure is over, VARIATION style will be started.
4. In VARIATION mode, press [FILL-IN A] button to
insert 1 measure fill and LCD flashes 'A' . After one
measure is over, NORMAL style will be started.

Accomp Volume
1. Use [ACCOMP+]/[ACCOMP-] button to adjust the
ACCOMP volume. The LCD displays the ACCOMP
volume value which range between 0 and 31.
2. Press [ACCOMP+] and [ACCOMP-] button
simultaneously to turn off the ACCOMP volume.
LCD displays: ACP OFF.
3. Press [ACCOMP+] and [ACCOMP-] button
simultaneously again to turn on the ACCOMP
volume.

A.B.C
1. Press [A.B.C] button to set the A.B.C mode to on.
The A.B.C flag is lightened on LCD. In this mode,
the keys below the split point are known as the
CHORD area.
2. There are 2 ways to detect the chord: single finger
detect and fingers detect. If the chord playing
accord with fingers detect, it is recognized as the
fingers chord. If not, single finger chord will be
recognized.

1. Press the [TEMPO+] or [TEMPO-] button to change
the tempo.

2. Press the [TEMPO+] and [TEMPO-] simultaneously


to set to the default tempo.
3. The keyboard will take out the default tempo of the
style if you change the style when the style is not
playing.

No action for 3 seconds after pressing the
[FUNCTION] button, it will quit the function menu

1. Press [FUNCTION] button to enter to Transpose
sub-menu. LCD displays the current transpose
value, its default value is 000.
2. Use [UP]/[DOWN] button to adjust the value from
12 to +12 halftones.

Tune
1. The LCD displays the current tune value. Use
[UP]/[DOWN] button to change the tune value. This
function can change the right area of keyboard from
50 to 50 cents.
2. Press [UP] and [DOWN] simultaneously will set the
tune value to the default one.
3. The default value is 000.

NOTE:
When the tune value is +50, the note has changed
100 semitones;
When the tune value is 50, the note has changed 100
semitones.

Octave
1. The LCD displays the octave value. Use
[UP]/[DOWN] button to change the octave value.
This function can change the right area of keyboard
from -2 to 2 octaves.
2. Press [UP] and [DOWN] simultaneously will set the
tune value to the default one.
3. The default octave value is 000.

Split Point
1. The LCD displays the split point value. Use
[UP]/[DOWN] button to change the split point.
The keyboard can also be used to change the split
point.
2. The default split point is 019.

NOTE:
The part below the split point key is the part of the
CHORD area.

MIDI
Press [ FUNCTION] button to MIDI FUNCTION.
LCD displays :CHA ALL.
Use [UP]/[DOWN] button to select the receive
channel from 1 ~ 16.

DSP Effect
Use [UP]/[DOWN] to select DSP ON or DSP off.
It will turn on/off the DSP effect.

Press [MIXER] repeatedly to adjust the items above


and use [UP]/[DOWN] to change the volume.

Memory
Bank
There are 4 banks at all; each bank has 4
memories (M1-M4).
Press [BANK] button. The LCD displays BANK
number. Use [UP]/[DOWN] button to select the
bank.

Store and Load


1. Press and hold [STORE], press M1(or M2-M4)
meanwhile. The data will be stored to the M1 (M2M4), LCD displays the memory number MEM 1.
2. Press [store] and [M1] simultaneously while the
keyboard is power on, the memory data will be set
as the default value. Please note that it will clear
the record data.

NOTE:
If current data is not the same as the current memory
data, the corresponding memory flag on LCD will
flash.

Data Store in Memory


1. VOICE DATA
VOICE:VOICE R1, VOICE R2, and VOICE LOWER;
VOICE EFFECT:TOUCH NUMBER, DSP ON/OFF,
SUSTAIN ON/OFF, TRANSPOSE VALUE, TUNE,
OCTAVE.
2. ACCOMP DATA
STYLE NUMBER, TEMPO, BEAT, A.B.C ON/OFF,
ACCOMP VOLUME, NORMAL/VARIATION
STATUS.
3. MIXER VOLUME
VOICE R1 VOLUME, VOICE R2 VOLUME, VOICE
LOWER VOLUME, DRUM VOICE, BASS VOLUME,
OC1, OC2, OC3 VOLUME.

Recording
Record Waiting
1. Press [RECORD] button. Four beats on LCD flash
simultaneity, which indicates the record waiting
status. Voice, style, memory and recording tracks
can be selected in this status.
2. The ACCOMP track and MELODY track can be
recorded together and also can be recorded
separately. But notice that 2 MELODY tracks
cannot be recorded at the same time.
3. After selecting the recording track, the relevant LED
will flash, Which indicates that the track is ready for
recording.
4. If the track you selected has record data, it will be
played when recording.

Record Start
After having set all the settings in record waiting
status, play the keyboard (the chord area when
recording ACCOMP) or press [START/STOP]
button. It will start recording and the beat will follow
the current tempo.

The chord area

NOTE:
Once start recording one track, the original data in the
track will be overwritten.
If there has data in the ACCOMP track, then the
playback tempo will accord to the tempo of ACCOMP
track.
If there has no data in the ACCOMP track, then the
MELODY tempo will be one of the MELODY track's
tempo when playing record.

Record Stop
1. Stop Automatically:
If the capacity is full, the recording will be stopped
automatically when recording is in process, and it
displays :FULL on LCD. When the style is playing,
press [INTRO/ENDING] button, then after the
ending, it will stop recording automatically.
2. Stop manually:
Press [RECORD] button again in recording to stop
recording immediately. In the same time, the LED of
record track will be lightened, indicates that this
track has record data and be ready to play.

Record Play
1. Select the tracks to play, and the LED of the track
will be lightened, which indicate that the track is
ready to play, and the darkened LED indicates that
the track is not ready to play. If the LED cannot be
lightened, that means it is an empty track.
2. After selecting the track, press [PLAY/STOP] button
to start playing the track data. Press [PLAY/STOP]
again to stop playing.

Record Delete
Press [RECORD] and [PLAY/STOP]
simultaneously when power is on the keyboard. It
will clear all the record data.

Song
There are 60 songs at all (see Appendix)
1. Song Start/Stop:
Press [SONG] button to enter to the song mode.
It will play all the 60 songs one by one.
After pressing [START/STOP], [UP]/[DOWN] or
[MELODY OFF] button, it will play the current song
repeatedly.
2. Song Setting:
Use [UP]/[DOWN] button to select the song.
Change the song when the song is playing.
In the song mode, press [MELODY OFF] button
can mute the melody track. The melody off flag
lightens on LCD. The keyboard voice is
automatically changed to the same voice as the
melody track. You can learn to play the song by
following the notes displayed on LCD. The original
voice will be got back after it quit the song mode.

Demo
There are 5 Demos at all (see Appendix)
1. DEMO Start/Stop
Press [DEMO] button to enter to DEMO mode.
The DEMO flag lightens on LCD. Hold the [DEMO]
button over 3 seconds, it will play the current demo
repeatedly with the current demo's number shown
on LCD.
Press [DEMO] again or press [START/STOP] to
Stop playing the demo.
2. DEMO Selecting
Use [UP]/[DOWN] button to select the demo. New
demo can be selected and played while demo is
Playing.

Piano
1. Press [PIANO] key to turn to the piano mode. The
LCD displays:PIANO.
The voice is set to piano automatically and it turns
off the A.B.C mode.
2. Press [DEMO], [SONG] key and recall the memory.
It will quit the piano mode.
3. The style can be selected and played in the piano
mode. Press [STYLE],it will display the style
temporarily, then turns to PIANO after 5 seconds.
4. The style playing in this mode only via the drum
channel.

Chord Dictionary
Chord dictionary is a function to help you to check
the Chord notes.
1. Press [CHORD DICTIONARY] button to enter the
dictionary mode, the flag is lightened on LCD and
Dict is displayed.
2. Specify and play the Chord type and the Chord root
you want on the keyboard as follows:
