The trunnions at EL (-) 11.00 m at leg A2 and B2 have been removed. Therefore, it is
planned to use chokers in place of the trunnions. Local check at the choke points have
been carried out using Roarks formulas.
A maximum load of 900 MT was applied at the choke point, based on the maximum SSL
obtained from lifting analysis.
From the local check carried out, it was observed that the 2336 x 63 mm jacket leg was
not able to withstand a load of 900 MT. The maximum fibre stress was 760.72 KSI. This
value is massively larger than the yield stress of the jacket leg, which is 50 KSI.
A second check was carried out by increasing the thickness of the jacket leg from 63 mm
to 189 mm. From this check, the maximum fibre stress was 49.61 KSI < 50 KSI.
Therefore is recommended to use a 126mm thk saddle plate on the jacket leg if chokers
were to be utilized.

Refer Attachment 3 for detailed calculations

3) Upending Trunnion Capacity Check

The maximum load the upending trunnion can withstand was 523.47 MT.
This value was obtained by performing a standard lifting analysis using the upending
trunnions at the top of the jacket and the lifting trunnions at the bottom of the jacket.
No DAF was considered to determine the upending trunnion capacity.
Any load greater than that considered will cause other members connected to the
upending trunnions to have a UC greater than unity..

Refer Attachment 4 for UC plot & SSL plot for upending trunnion check.

TECHNICAL NOTE (TN)

SACS Model
The lifting jacket model provided by the client was used in this analysis. The lifting analysis
carried out in this study only includes the base case COG with the jacket tilted in seabed.
The maximum SSL was obtained from factored gravity weight. The structural integrity check
for other members and lifting point was checked with a DAF of 1.35 and 2.00, respectively.
