Entry requirements:
High school certificate Grade 12 or equivalent.
Minimum age is 17 years old. Candidates must
have a minimum IELTS score of 5.0 in Academic
English, or equivalent. Emirates Aviation
University (EAU) offers a Foundation English
course for candidates below this threshold.
Visas:
EAU cannot guarantee the UAE and Schengen
visas but will offer full support to candidates to
facilitate their visas to register as a student.
Foundation Programme (Dubai) 5 Months
The foundation programme offers students a
thorough grounding in the principles of aviation,
which will ensure they are ready to take on
the demanding theoretical studies required to
become a pilot. Subjects will include Maths &
Physics, and a variety of ATPL related subjects.
Screening (Dubai/Lisbon) 1 Week
During the screening week candidates are tested on:
Psychometric and motor skills ( Compass test)
Personal interview
Maths & Physics proficiency exam
English proficiency
Class 1 Medical ( Lisbon)
Subject to satisfactory performance, the student
will be able to progress to the flying academy in
Portugal.

ATPL EASA Pilot Programme

(Portugal) 18 Months
Ground School will consist of 14 theoretical
subjects, followed by 5 flying phases.
Upon successful completion of the ATPL
programme, students will graduate with a frozen
ATPL licence as well as an Advanced Diploma in
Aviation Science awarded by EAU. Full board and
lodging will be provided for students in Portugal,
including return air tickets to Lisbon from Dubai and
local transfers.
All necessary materials will be provided for the
student to undertake the course, including uniforms.
Final Year Degree (Dubai) 9 Months
Successful completion of the ATPL will allow
students to enter the final year top up degree
which is dually awarded by both EAU and
Coventry University in the UK.
The EAU award is recognised by the National
Qualifications Authority (NQA) in the UAE.
Students will graduate with a BSc (Hons.) in Air
Transport Management.
