Context of the lesson
This lesson will be about literacy. It is going to be taught for grade six.
Teaching goal
The overall aim of the lesson is to present the featured of newspaper articles.
Learning objectives
Students will be able to:
Identify 3 featured of newspaper articles.
Determine the direct quotes in the newspaper article.
Act and write examples of direct quotes.

Assumptions about prior learning


Most of students have a knowledge about 2 featured of newspaper article
Anticipated problems and possible solutions
Some students may not remember features of newspaper articles. So, the teacher will review
them orally and she will use burger sandwich parts to represent the featured.

Personal focus for this lesson


I will move around the class and I will use eye contact for everybody, to produce quiet
environment and reduce the misbehavior.

Summary
At the beginning of the class I revised with students the 2 elements of newspaper article. I used oral
questioning, and the students were responding. I was walking around them during that. I forgot to write the
LO (learning objective) on the board. So, after that I asked them if they like burger and I asked them how to
do the Burger sandwich. I observed that the children were very excited. They liked when I asked them about
the Burger sandwich. Then, I relate the elements of newspaper article with the Burger sandwich. I think it is
important to make relation between the lesson and what does the children like. For example, the food,
sports, animation characters, etc. because they will engages and that will encourage them to learn with
interesting. After that, I introduced the new element which is the "quotes" as a beef. I pretend as interviewer
and I walked around them and asked them several questions. I wrote their answers on the board. And put
quotation marks on the sentences. And I explained the quotes. I think this part was very funny because the
answers of the students were very funny. I asked them about their suggestion about the wolves in the walls
story. After that, I asked them to search for quotes on their newspaper article and they have to rewrite them
on new page. I forgot to ask them to check their work with their friends.

Suggestions
I need to write the LO on the board and the headline of the lesson.
I need to do different level activities for the children.
I suggest to make an activity to encourage them to work together as group or peer.
I need to use strategies for transformation.

Personal Focus for next lesson

I need to make eye contact to all students to make sure that all of them are paying attention.
I need to walk around the students and between the groups not only the front students.
I need to use strategies for classroom management.
