Milling

The technical conditions contained in this section are common for both the options
and will be applicable to option selected. Scope of Facilities summarized hereunder
and also detailed in subsequent parts of this bid. The Contractors scope of work is of
turnkey nature and comprises of following;

Any equipment, device or material even if not included in the original bid but found
necessary for the safe and satisfactory functioning of the units under the bid shall be
supplied, erected and commissioned by the Bidder at no extra cost to the Employer
as if such equipment, material or work were originally specified and formed part of
the scope of work.
1.1
Equipment/Items
List of equipment for supply and installation under the scope is furnished in Section
VI D. The equipment numbers are same as they appear in the Technical
specifications, Section VI D.
1.2
Contractors Activities
1.2.1
Offshore Activities
The Contractor shall design, specify, manufacture and supply facilities as set out in
this Specification; he shall inspect and test the same and its packing prior to its
dispatch from its place of manufacture; shall transport the same to his chosen export

port or ports and carry out all associated inspections, handling storage, loading and
unloading activities to deliver the same on board of his chosen carrying vessel on
DDU Project site basis; shall provide every reasonable facility for the Employer to
check test and verify the Plant and Equipment at all reasonable times; and shall
provide in accordance with the Program or otherwise accordance with the Project
Managers instructions all of the Plant and equipment, technical information and
services necessary in order that the Employer, Project Manager and any other
participating contractor may carry out their roles and tasks in an orderly and efficient
manner and in order that sugar production shall commence within the Time for
Commencing Sugar Production or any extension thereof allowed under the Contract.
1.2.2
Onshore Activities
The Contractor shall undertake all the site erection and commissioning works which
will include landing of plant and machinery, Djibouti port clearance, Customs
clearance at Ethiopian boarder post, checking, transit storing and protecting when
and where necessary, transporting to Site, re-checking and inspecting all the Plant
and Equipment supplied on DDU Project Site basis. The Contractor shall also
undertake the supply of any other imported supplies required by the Contractor for
his work; of erection, installation, testing and commissioning of the process house
and all its accessories, within the battery limits, proving the performance, and
carrying out any necessary Corrective engineering; testing and commissioning, on
DDU Project Site basis. He shall provide all supervision, labour, Contractors
equipment, Temporary Works and all other materials required for the process house,
erection and commissioning, training of personnel on turnkey basis.
1.2.3
General obligations
The Contractor shall inspect and test the materials and constructions, used and to be
used for the Onshore Works; he will provide every reasonable facility for the
Employer / Project Manager to check and verify the same; he shall report damage or
loss and take all necessary steps to make good with all speed any damage or loss
which might occur or have occurred to the Facilities (other than such reports and
steps to be taken by the Employer, as set out in the Contract); he shall execute any
Corrective Engineering required by the Project Manager and he will provide in
accordance with the Factory Crushing Program or otherwise in accordance with the
Project Managers instructions all of the Onshore Works technical information and
services necessary in order that the Employer / the Project Manager and any other
participating contractor may carry out their roles and tasks in an orderly and efficient
manner and in order that sugar production shall commence within the time for
commencing sugar production or any extension thereof allowed under the Contract.
1.2.4
Training
Training the local staff in operation and maintenance of process house forms part of
the scope of supply.
