To Whom It May Concern,

This letter is in regards to Oliver Zhou volunteering with the Science AL!VEs summer camp
program. Science AL!VE is a student-run, not-for-profit STEM (science, technology, engineering, and
math) education program based out of Simon Fraser University. We provide opportunities for youth
from kindergarten to grade 7 to explore science beyond the textbooks through hands-on, interactive
discovery, with the goal of stimulating interest and fostering confidence in STEM fields.
Throughout Olivers 70 hours volunteering at our camps in 2016, he assisted in supervising and
entertaining the campers during morning sign-in, during lunchtime, as well as during sign-out at the end
of the day. Oliver was consistently punctual throughout the two weeks he volunteered with us and
played a vital role in the success of the camps.
Oliver was always willing to help when assigned a responsibility. He brought energy, enthusiasm
and positivity to the camp room. Oliver was a volunteer instructors could rely on. He was particularly
excellent at working with students one-on-one, keeping them on track, and engaged in the activities.
Overall, Oliver was a great role model for the campers. I highly recommend him for any
endeavors he chooses to pursue as I am positive he will be an asset. Oliver was wonderful to work with
and we would not hesitate to have him return to volunteer with Science AL!VE.
If you have any questions regarding his volunteer experience, please do not hesitate to contact us
by email at volunteer@sciencealive.ca or by telephone at 778-782-5912.
Sincerely,

Alisha Ward
