Hello 2016 Batch! Welcome to the TEP LMS Orientation!

In this document, information would be provided on how to use the LMS portal and on how to access the TEP
Course content.

Important Points to Remember

Each student has to ensure that he/she gets their TEP credentials either through their
registered email Id or from their respective college admins.
The student should ensure that only TEP credentials are used whenever they are
writing to us (any query coming from a personal email Id might not be answered);
also, the student should remember to use only TEP email Id for any communication
with us.
The student needs to constantly monitor their TEP domain email Ids as all the
communication from our side would be done only through that email Id only.
If the student has any query regarding the course or a specific module, please ensure
that you write to us at the TA contact details which are present on the Contact Us
block on the Dashboard (right hand side).
For any technical queries, for instance, login issues, system issues or any other
technical issues being faced, please write to us on the email Id:
tepadmin@tep.isb.edu
1. First and foremost rule is to ensure that none of your personal Email/Gmail Ids are logged in. A simple check
could be performed for the same; and find below the screenshots depicting them.

Open a browser

Type in gmail.com in the address bar

And if a login screen is seen, that means none of personal email Ids are logged in.

Sometimes, there would be a personal account profile present which could be logged off by clicking on
Sign in with a different user, which would navigate the student to a Choose an account screen;
where in all the existing accounts could be removed.
The below screenshots depict the same:

The students are requested to login using their TEP domain email Id and password
initially.
This is the first and foremost check that every student must perform before starting work on their LMS.

2. After this check is performed, please type the following in the address bar:
http://elearn.isb.edu/tep/lms

The screenshot below would be your LMS landing page with a login screen.

Now, here every student has two options; (a) One is a TEP domain
username and password that we had shared with you, (b) Another is a
Sign-in with Google option. But, only the option (b) needs to be used,
as marked in the screenshot above.
Please enter the TEP credentials in the login screen each student is
navigated to after clicking on Sign-in with Google option. Every
student has been shared with their respective TEP credentials on their
registered email Ids. They have also been sent to your respective
colleges admins; so incase, a student has not received his/he credentials
yet, please contact respective college admins for the TEP credentials

After the student has entered the credentials, login to the portal.

3. Now, you will be logged into the LMS portal. As a first time user, you must accept the Terms and conditions.
It has clear instructions on the Dos and Donts for every student to strictly abide to. It is strongly recommended
that the first time students always go through them.

4. On your main Dashboard, the student will find the following the tabs:

Time Table This tab would give the schedule as per the current Term curriculum

My Classes Here is where all the courses that a student is enrolled into would be found. Please
remember, that students cant enroll themselves into courses. Each student would be enrolled into
courses as per the academic calendars shared with them at the beginning of the term. It is also present
on the Portal under the Time Table tab.

1.

Click on the Launch button next to an enrolled course.

2.

This is how the course webpage would look like:

3.

The various components on the webpage are as follows: (Click on each component to direct
the students to a page with the respective component information)
(a) Faculty profile

(b) Introduction to Course: For every module, the faculty would either record a short
introductory video for the module or a text description would be present in this
component, which would cover topics like
What would a student learn in the module
What are the topics that will be covered in the module
What is the intent for the inclusion of the module in the curriculum

(c) Video Session: Every module is divided into multiple sessions depending on the length
of the modules and they would be broadcasted as per the time table on the portal.
Sometimes, few conditions need to be met for the video sessions, which would be
mentioned below the session.

The students are needed to be logged in to their TEP domain for access to
the video session.

(d) Discussion Forum: It is highly encouraged by the students to actively participate in the
discussion forum. This is a place where they can start posting their questions, if any, as
this would be monitored by the teaching associate and help could be requested when and
wherever required by the students through this forum. This also is a medium through
which a student could interact with the other students from various colleges. This is not a
forum where you only ask questions, but could also be used to share information.
For instance, if a student has come across a brilliant piece of information or article or
video etc., which is relevant to the topic of discussion and if the student feels that other
students would be benefitted from the information, then the student is open to post/share
that information on the discussion forum.

(e) Concept Quiz: For every module, the student will have to take a timed concept
quiz/assignment. For a quiz, the format could be ranging from anywhere between 5 to 15
questions and time ranging from 5 to 20 mins. Whereas, for an assignment, the format
would be a group assessment, where the group has to work together on the assignment
and submit the result on the portal and the result would be the same for everyone in a
single group.
The content for the assessment depend on the session.

It is mandatory that every student must take the quiz/assignment at the end of the module
and must secure a minimum pass percentage before they would be allowed to proceed to
the next module. If the student wouldnt have taken the quiz and havent secured the
minimum pass percentage, then the content for the next module will not be accessible.
Please remember that the student must take the quiz and secure the minimum percentage.

Another important point to note is that, all the rules and conditions to be followed and
taken care off for the quiz/assignment would be mentioned at the start of the
quiz/assignment.

(f) Feedback: It is highly recommended that every student gives the feedback at the end of
each module as this is a medium through which we understand what each student thinks
about the module and also helps us to improvise our content and make it more relevant.
Curriculum Here, under this tab, the topics/modules as part of the current term curriculum would be
stated.

These are the various components on the course webpage.

5. Moving forward, click on the Dashboard on the thread bar.

On the right hand side, there would be a Contact Us block with the contact details, where a student could write
to regarding any queries about the content or the course module.
