Arti-Brux
Arti-Brux is a red Occlusal Indicator Paint, which is applied with a disposable brush to check occlusal contacts. Arti-Brux dries within a couple of
minutes, leaving a thin red coating which is resistant to saliva. Arti-Brux can be used on all or restorative and prosthetic surfaces. By penetration of
the occlusal contacts the color layer is removed. For diagnosing parafunction (bruxism) Arti-Brux can also be applied to hard rigid splints (Michigan
Splints). Arti-Brux is good complementary product to regular occlusal indictators (articulation papers, films, sprays, ...) Arti-Brux can be used
as long-term Occlusal-Indicator. Unlike conventional test equipment, which represent only a snapshot of Occlusions contacts, Arti-Brux is like an
Occlugramm which shows contacts and traces of movements on the teeth. Especially for patients with parafunctions a long-term Occlusion-Indicator
is highly recommended to avoid damage to the dentin structure. Parafunctions on implants can have a destructive influence to the osseointegration.
Also checking prosthetic restoration on implants is useful. The paint is designed for temporary use. The patient should use a coated splint not longer
then one night.
After the diagnosis the color layer can easily be removed with a toothbrush and a suitable toothpaste. Arti-Brux is formulated with a natural resin
and a red food color which can also be removed with concentrated ethanol 96%. The set contains a professional polishing brush which can be used
with any handpiece.
When checking splints especially for those patients suffering from Bruxism, the splint should be prepared thoroughly by the dentist. The splint or the
occlusal surface has to cleaned and dried. Then the paint is applied with the enclosed Master-Brush.
The splint should be used during the night. Traces of occlusal contacts are visible. The color layer is removed by penetrating these surfaces. If
necessary the penetrated surfaces can be equilibrated.
Prosthetic restorations can be treated similarly. The long-term test can also be repeated until the splint or prosthetic restoration are in conjunction with
the physiological movement patterns of patients.
