How will the island be ruled?

Our island will by be ruled by a democracy where a leader is elected and
makes decisions with members of parliament.
A member of Dream Island will be called a Sleepwalker.

How will laws and decisions be made?

When everyone has settled down on the island, the adults will convene to
decide upon rules that must be set that are conducive to healthy and happy
living.

How will laws and decisions be enforced?

Our island will have specific law enforcement officers that will fairly punish
those who disobey the rules of our society based on the severity of their
crimes.
There will be a section on the island secluded and made to hold offenders so
that they will be prevented from committing crimes again and can serve time
as a penalty for their actions.

How will leaders be elected? How long will they

lead?
Adults who would like to lead will be potential candidates and those over the
age of 17 will anonymously vote for the person they feel to be the most
competent. The leader chosen must abide by the laws and make decisions
only with the support of parliament.
There will be general elections every 18 months and there will be no limit on
how many terms a leader can serve.

Power and Responsibilities given to Leader

Must abide by the laws and rules set for society

Hold more power than general citizens in terms of making decisions
Responsible for ensuring the people are happy and safe
Responsible for making changes to the way the society works if necessary

Who will work? How will work be distributed?

Everyone needs to work 3-6 hours a day in order to survive. Anyone under the
age of 6 or over the age of 60 will be exempted from work unless they want
to.
However, 25% of the population is under the age of 12 and will not be able to
do hard tasks. Their job can be to gather fruits and other foods in the safe
parts of the island to bring back to the adults.

The 25% of the population up to the age of 17, if strong enough, can work on
building shelters or can gather materials like branches and leaves to help the
people working.
The 50% of the population that is over the age of 18 can do the manual and
heavy labour like actually building homes. They will also be in the parliament
and help on making decisions for the society.

No murder or other types of physical harm to other Sleepwalkers

No stealing property or belongings from fellow Sleepwalkers
Sleepwalkers who do not complete their work for no legitimate reason
shall be punished and then supervised to make sure they do not repeat
this mistake
Sleepwalkers over the age of 18 are required to vote
Sleepwalkers should treat fellow members with respect and friendliness
