Chapter 1
Introduction
To complete my internship of my Bachelor degree I have joined in a institute as a
Assistant IT officer. For this, I would like to prepare my internship report on the
experience of my IT Department. From my experience I observed that, when any
Company takes any IT officer as experience then it includes several important sound
Knowledge of IT. It contains all kind of details information. A IT department
responsibility involves the network of the System, Monitoring the process. Then
another important thing is to find the problem searching by the System operation. The
contains of this report will describe more briefly about all these sectors. So, I found
interest to undertake this report as well.

1.1 About the Institute

Daffodil International Academy (DIA) is a pioneer in running foreign education in
Bangladesh since 1997. During its long journey, DIA has had vast experience in
working with a number of world class universities around the globe like University of
Greenwich, London Metropolitan University, London Guildhall University, UK and
so on. Now, DIA is recruiting personnel in different roles to administer different
programmers of Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK for campuses both in Dhaka and
Malaysia. DIA is inviting applications for the aforementioned vacancies in a full-time
capacity from eligible candidates.

1.2 About the IT Department of the Institute

The IT Department DIT are proficient to deliver quick and quality solutions. With a
blend of experts in system analysis, problem solving, software updating, IP address
setting, quilting assurance and testing with proven track record make it possible to

institute also introduced many upcoming related to networking protocol and concept.
The IT department has extensive and in depth knowledge about the networking
System, IT department and experience in networking System. They select many
mechanism, tools and technology carefully its show satisfactory result.

1.3 Working Environment

Working environment of Daffodil Institute of IT is very calm, polite and
professional. The Department manager of IT helps the department team by giving
correct guidelines. The member of department are very helpful to each others. If
anyone faces any problems in the time of solving any problem, then other members
assist him by providing logical and technical solution. Beside the Department
manager of IT encourage us to introduce with new technology. From my personal
experience, it can be said that the working environment of DIT is very supportive to
me.

1.4 Objective of the Internship:

IT technical support officers are mainly responsible for the smooth running of
computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them. Individual
tasks vary depending on the size and structure of the organization, but may include:

installing and configuring computer hardware

operating systems and applications;

monitoring and maintaining computer systems

and networks

talking staff or clients through a series of

actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone,
to help set up systems or resolve issues;

troubleshooting system and network problems

and diagnosing and solving hardware or
software faults;

replacing parts as required;

providing support, including procedural

documentation and relevant reports;

following diagrams and written instructions to

repair a fault or set up a system

setting up new users' accounts and profiles and

dealing with password issues;

responding within agreed time limits to callouts;

working continuously on a task until completion

(or referral to third parties, if appropriate);

with customers and other professionals, such as
software developers;

testing and evaluating new technology;

Conducting electrical safety checks on computer

equipment.

1.5 Limitation of study:

Like every other others studies, I too faced some constraints during my intern period
Which Otherwise would have enabled me in making my study more appropriate and
Systematical. The limitation is form both side the institute and as well myself. Supply
of more practical and contemporary problem was another short coming. The
allocated was not enough for getting sound knowledge about study. Last but not the
least the report would have more better and practical, as I too have shortcoming with
time, Knowledge and capacity.

Chapter 2
Literature review
For my internship I have joined a Institute of IT sector. Institute supervisor suggests
me to work a tool first of all . Then I have started this work. But it was very difficult
for me as I have no experience of solving a problem of IT technology in networking
language. I have visited many website to collect information to know how to solve it.
Most of fresh graduates start their professional life by making IT sector. In my
internship report I write about two things. At first I try to introduce about my institute.
For this part I collect all information from different website named
http://searchnetworking.techtarget.com/tip/Wireless-network-troubleshootingConnectivity I got huge support from my institute supervisor and other employees
regarding this work.

In the second part I try to describe how a student solve a networking problem easily.
For this part I have visited different websites for collect in different information. Most
of the information I collected many online tutorial help

Chapter 3
Details of Internship Work
3.1 How to Assign IP Address
3.1.1 Windows 7 or Windows 8.x or Windows 10
To change the computers IP address in Windows, type network and sharing into the
Search box in the Start Menu and select Network and Sharing Center when it comes
up. If you are in Windows 8.x it will be on the Start Screen itself, like the screenshot
at the top of this article. If youre in Windows 7 or 10 itll be in the start menu.

Figure:1

Then when the Network and Sharing Center opens, click on Change adapter settings.
This will be the same on Windows 7 or 8.x or 10.

Figure:2

Right-click on your local adapter and select Properties.

Figure:3

In the Local Area Connection Properties window highlight Internet Protocol Version
4 (TCP/IPv4) then click the Properties button.

Figure:4

Now select the radio button Use the following IP address and enter in the correct IP,
Subnet mask, and Default gateway that corresponds with your network setup. Then
enter your Preferred and Alternate DNS server addresses. Here were on a home
network and using a simple Class C network configuration and Google DNS.
Check Validate settings upon exit so Windows can find any problems with the
addresses you entered. When youre finished click OK.

Figure:5

Now close out of the Local Area Connections Properties window.

Figure:6
Windows will run network diagnostics and verify the connection is good. Here we
had no problems with it, but if you did, you could run the network troubleshooting
wizard.

Figure:7

Now you can open the command prompt and do an ipconfig to see the network
adapter settings have been successfully changed.

Figure:8

3.1.2 Windows Vista

Changing your IP from DHCP to a Static address in Vista is similar to Windows 7,
but getting to the correct location is a bit different. Open the Start Menu, right-click
on Network, and select Properties.

Figure:9

The Network and Sharing Center opensclick on Manage network connections.

Figure:10

Right-click on the network adapter you want to assign an IP address and click
Properties.

Now change the IP, Subnet mask, Default Gateway, and DNS Server Addresses.
When youre finished click OK.

Figure:13

Youll need to close out of Local Area Connection Properties for the settings to go
into effect.

Figure:14

Open the Command Prompt and do an ipconfig to verify the changes were successful.

Figure:15

3.1.3Windows XP
In this example were using XP SP3 Media Center Edition and changing the IP
address of the Wireless adapter.
To set a Static IP in XP right-click on My Network Places and select Properties.

Figure:16

Right-click on the adapter you want to set the IP for and select Properties.

When youre finished click OK.

Figure:19

You will need to close out of the Network Connection Properties screen before the
changes go into effect.

Figure:20
Again you can verify the settings by doing an ipconfig in the command prompt. In
case youre not sure how to do this, click on Start then Run.

Figure:21

In the Run box type in cmd and click OK.

Figure:22

Then at the prompt type in ipconfig and hit Enter. This will show the IP address for
the network adapter you changed.

Figure:23

If you have a small office or home network, assigning each computer a specific IP
address makes it a lot easier to manage and troubleshoot network connection
problems.

Chapter 4
Acquired knowledge
From my personal experience, I can say that joining in a IT institute for internship is
very fruitful for computer Science students. There is enough scope and opportunities
to learn many things from a Department. This experience could play a vital role for
future professional life. After completing this chapter, you will be able to:
1. List the common questions to ask when troubleshooting.

List the set of TCP/IP troubleshooting tools provided with Windows Server
2003 and Windows XP and describe how each is used to obtain
troubleshooting information.
List and describe the guidelines, tools, and techniques for troubleshooting
Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) communications including IPv4
connectivity, Domain Name System (DNS) name resolution for IPv4
addresses, Network basic input/output system (NetBIOS) name resolution, and
IPv4-based TCP sessions.
List and describe the guidelines, tools, and techniques for troubleshooting
Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) communication including IPv6 connectivity,
DNS name resolution for IPv6 addresses, and IPv6-based TCP sessions.

2. Professional manner: Ive learned about the professional behavior and manners
of an office. Ive learnt how should I make conversation with client, what behaviors
are perfect to talk with seniors, How a deal can be managed, how to work in a team
etc.

3. Introduced new Technology:-Technologies are developing day by day and if

someone fails to understand/realize this, then he/she will lag behind. Then he/she
would get negative performing rate from the office. Business class software firm
always seeks for productive person.

5. Task performing in giving time: Its very important to perform the tasking the
given time. Because when the project manager makes a deal with the clients, then
he/she declares an estimate time to deliver the project. So keeping the consistence of
the business its very necessary to complete the system in the meantime.

6. Problem solving: It is very common scene to fall in different kinds of problem

during the implementation of any system. So if someone faces problem in completing
his/her task then he/she must should ask help from the other team member or IT
manager. if the problem is relates with the common then searching in the internet is
the best option to get solution. if should be kept in mind that IT department always
keep expectation on their sector about solving all kinds of networking problems. So,
one must try to solve the problem related with his/her task.

Chapter 5
Evaluations & Limitations
5.1 Evaluations:
1. Curriculum connection
2. Authenticity
3. Feedback
4. Differentiation
5. User Friendliness
6. Student Motivation
7. Reporting
Still while evaluating the system control and performance, the system enables the
synchronization of records through its server-client architecture with a single
database. Therefore data entered from one recording station will be seen station using
the same system.

Critical Evaluation
For an evaluation process to be fully comprehensive, it should also include a critical
assessment of the system. Therefore, despite the fact that the findings obtained after
an evaluation showed that the system met its expectations to a large extent, it had a
few shortcomings. These limitations are discussed in the next section.

5.2 Limitations of the System

Throughout the development of the IT system, a few areas were overlooked by the
researcher. Some of these limitations can be presented as follows;

Usability
This may present a problem for non- English speaking users

Security
Unfortunately, the IPv4 TOS field has limited functionality and, over time, has been
redefined and has different local interpretations. The current standards for IPv4 use
the TOS field to indicate a Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP), a value set by

the originating node and used by intermediate routers for prioritized delivery and
handling.
Additionally, payload identification that uses a TCP or UDP port is not possible when
the IPv4 packet payload is encrypted. To address these and other concerns, the
Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has developed a suite of protocols and
standards known as IP version 6 (IPv6).

Chapter 6
Constrain/Challenges & Suggestions
6.1 Challenges:
During the internship period in Daffodil Institute of IT , Ive faced several challenges.
Those challenges can be categorize as learning challenge, dealing challenge,
programming challenges, completing task in the given time, testing challenge etc.
From my internship experience, thats type of challenges that Ive faced.
The top five, in no particular order, were:

How to connect IT with the strategic priorities of the organization

Communicating and marketing IT more effectively

Compliance, governance, metrics and risk management

Supplier relations

System is not the problem

6.2 Suggestions:
With the experience of my internship program, I request to my university authority
about some points which is given below:
1) University authority can open a course in which students know how to learn the
professional manner /behavior of company/Institute
2) IT department and quality assurance course should be added in core curriculum of
the bachelor of CSE program.

3) Student should be learnt how to write software requirement specification. If this

subject already is included in some order course then it must be added on the core
curriculum of the bachelor of CSE program.
4) Every student should have the sound knowledge of any sector.

Chapter 7
Conclusion
During my internship my job was very crucial for my office. As a fresher I worked in
a new environment, it was a challenging task for me to perform well. On the whole,
this internship was a useful experience. I have gained new knowledge, Skills and met
many new people. I achieved several of my learning goals, however for some the
condition did not permit. I got insight into professional practice I learned the different
facets of working with this institute.
Throughout the three months internship period 1st month was my training period.
There was some lacking in my work too.
The work of networking is for computerizing the working. The work takes care of all
the requirements of an average working store and is Capable to provide easy and
effective storage of information related to system. The proposed system is networking
problem solving system. We can enhance this system by including more facilities the
system could be modified suitably to high level security system.
My future target is to complete my running networking security system successfully
and build my carrier in IT development sector. Ill try my best to utilize my academic
lesson and internship experience to build my carrier.
