1 What is the System Unit?

R/ It is also called the computer case, computer chassis, or computer
tower. Cases are typically made of steel or aluminum, but plastic can
also be used. While most computer cases are rather dull, black, metal
boxes, some manufacturers try to give the unit some flair with color and
special design elements.
2 What there are inside of System Unit?
R/ Inside the box or system unit are the following components:
Motherboard
CPU/processor
RAM (random access memory)
Hard drive
Power supply unit
Video card
Sound card
Network card

3 What are most important components?

R/ The most important component of the computer is the CPU because it
is the heart of the computer, but the computer is a chain each component
depends on each other.
4 Function of Hardisk drive.
R The hard drive is where your software, documents, and other files are
stored. The hard drive is long-term storage, which means the data is still
saved even if you turn the computer off or unplug it.
When you run a program, or open a file, the computer copies some of
the data from the hard drive onto the RAM. When you save a file, the

data is copied back to the hard drive. The faster the hard drive, the faster
your computer can start up and load programs.
5 Where is located CD or DVD?
R/ The CDs or DVDs are located in the Optical Disc Drive, which is
responsible for reading and copying content from these discs.
6 Explain the use memory stick and its function.
R/ Is a type of computer data storage. A RAM device makes it possible
to access data in random order, which makes it very fast to find a
specific piece of information. Certain other types of storage are not
random-access.
RAM devices are used in computer systems as the main memory. RAM
is considered volatile memory, which means that the stored information
is lost when there is no power.
7 Explain the use of Mouse.
R/ is a pointing device that detects two-dimensional motion relative to a
surface. This motion is typically translated into the motion of a pointer
on a display, which allows a smooth control of the graphical user
interface.
8 How many buttons has mouse explain them.
R/ Has 2 buttons regularly and a scroll wheel Mouse buttons are microswitches which can be pressed to select or interact with an element of a
graphical user interface, producing a distinctive clicking sound.
9 Explain the functions of Keyboard.
R/ The most essential component to keyboards are the letter keys which
allow an operator to write letters of the alphabet on programs on the
computer. Keyboards can be found in nearly any language to match the
settings on the computer. Aside from letters, numbers and basic

navigation functions like arrow keys and the "enter" button are typically
included on keyboards.
10 Explain the functions of Monitor.
R/ Monitors make it much simpler to see what information has been
inputted through a keyboard, mouse or other input device, and also to
see what information the computer has output. While the monitor is
typically considered part of a personal computer, no computing actually
takes place in the monitor hardware.
11 How many types of monitor there are?
Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)
Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
12 Explain about Printer functions.
R/ A printer is a device that accepts text and graphic output from a
computer and transfers the information to paper, usually to standard size
sheets of paper. Printers vary in size, speed, sophistication, and cost. In
general, more expensive printers are used for higher-resolution color
printing.
13 How many types of Printer are there?
R/ There are two types of printers: impact and non-impact.
14 Explain speakers functions.
R/ Speakers are one of the most common output devices used with
computer systems. Some speakers are designed to work specifically with
computers, while others can be hooked up to any type of sound system.
Regardless of their design, the purpose of speakers is to produce audio
output that can be heard by the listener.
15 What is a Modem...?
R/ A modem is a device or program that enables a computer to transmit
data over, for example, telephone or cable lines. Computer information

is stored digitally, whereas information transmitted over telephone lines

is transmitted in the form of analog waves. A modem converts between
these two forms.
16 Draw the correct connection Modem from the phone line jack to the
computer.
