The school has resources that are very important to the teaching
learning process. Electronic resources where used as means of learning
new concepts and new ideas to the learner. Science laboratory is the
place where they can engage in a close-to-reality kind of experience since
the laboratory has many real-like figures and equipments useful for there
learning.

REFLECTION
It is essential to know what students learn and under what conditions, in order to
assess whether schools are useful and effective. As a teacher, the library media
specialists works with students and other members of the learning community to

analyze learning and information needs, to locate and use resources that will meet
those needs, and to understand and communicate the information the resource
provides. The library media specialist is knowledgeable about current research on
teaching and learning and skilled in applying its findings to a variety of situations particularly those that call upon students to access, evaluate, and use information
from multiple sources in order to learn, to think, and to create and to apply
knowledge

REFLECTION
Bulletin boards take time to make, but they add immeasurably to student learning
in your classroom when done carefully and creatively. Visual learners in the
classroom will gain much additional knowledge from the bulletin board displays in
the classroom. Connect a bulletin board to each unit lesson taught to add peripheral
learning to the teacher instruction. Although many teachers attempt to create
bulletin board displays that do not change for the entire year, creating unit displays
that follow lesson plans enhance student learning. Visual learners take in everything

around them in the classroom and often remember specifics from what they see
later when taking tests. Skills teachers need to create an effective board display
could include: 1.

Creativity. Instructional content can be dry and boring in a classroom setting.

Creative teachers try to present concepts and content in an interesting way. 2.

Visual skills. Teachers are somewhat like interior designers; they must be able to
visualize the presentation and impact they want to create, and then apply those to
the display. 3.

Organizational skills. This goes along with #2, but organization includes comparing
and contrasting, grouping and arranging content in a meaningful way. 4.

Communication. Teachers know that words combined with visual content can often
communicate more than words alone. As well, the teacher must be a good
communicator. Lastly, good teachers make visual displays part of the lesson plan.
Displays or decorated bulletin boards are not just to make the room pretty. A good
teacher can use one display to help students build many different skills

My Proposed Board Display

Theme:
Students Previous and Up Coming Activities!

Board Title:

School Activities
Rationale:

For people and students-alike to be aware about

their school activities and what to expect on the up-coming events.
Objectives:
Have the advanced student or group of school
officers put their portfolios in the showcase. Its the students
responsibility to show their work to the best of their ability. Students
may add interesting objects to explore their showcase.
Best features of my proposed bulletin enhancement:
I am going to use boxes to create a broad way
show look. To simulate lights, I am going to use yellow labels and
inside the boxes, I am going to display previous students work or
picture of work, and also I may put there, What for Upcoming
Events, so students will have a knowledge about what will be our
next activities.
Content Resources (Name each needed resource and give each a
brief description)
Colorful pictures, I will be using colored cartolinas,
printed materials, since it can attract learners if you have this
colorful but not disturbing posting in their bulletin board. A glass
cover to protect the postings on the bulletin board.
Materials for aesthetic enhancement:
I may asked donation from the school to have some
sort of glass cover on the bulletin board which I think is very
important, to preserve and protect its content. I may also use a flannel
board so that it would be easy to put things or paste things if theres
changes that to be made.

Learning and teaching is the concern of the trained teacher. But learning is a
complex process. It can however be defined as a change in disposition; a relatively
permanent change in behavior overtime and this is brought about by experience.
Learning can occur as a result of newly acquired skill, knowledge, perception, facts,
principles, new information at hand etc. Learning aids are instructional materials
and devices through which teaching and learning are done in schools. Technology is
a tool for a meaningful learning. During our observation in a particular class a
teacher used chalk board during her presentation of lessons. I think teacher
prompted to choose the materials/learning resources that she
used was its because she conceived that those aids was effective and suit to her
students needs of learning. And in other cares, maybe a teacher cant use a power
point presentation its because there is no availabil
ity or lack of computers those instructional materials that can be used in teaching.
I cant say that all those learning resources/materials were effective in used
to the students. Teacher would still need to adjust her plans to match the changing
interest and needs of the learners. During the discussion, students show boredom
about the presentation of the lesson because visual aid for me describe as a dry
tool to be used to the learners. Maybe, until now, that aid is effective to some but
using technology can create a meaningful learning that transmits students
effectively. It is much better to use power point to present well the lessons clearly
including some examples especially pictures

EPISODE 4
(Teaching Aids Bank)
People have different learning styles. Some students learn by best by
listening, others by seeing and reading and others by hands-on activities.
Demonstrations show students exactly how certain concepts were discovered,
students who are not native speakers may have a very difficult time understanding
scientific words, but if they have something visual to see, they can understand the
concept and understand the new vocabulary faster, students who are not
academically inclined automatically tune out when a teacher is standing in the front
and droning on and on about a topic. When there's something for them to watch,
they end up paying attention and becoming engaged.
The materials that Id liked making the most were printed materials and
cut-out letters. I liked it because it is my passion since high school in making printed
materials. I liked cutting letters though it was time-consuming but I enjoyed a lot. I
have not found difficulties in making printed materials. But in cutting letters, I found
difficulties in folding and cutting letters since my hands shake when I was about to
cut the letters. The following should be considered in preparing the teaching
materials: a. they should have decided the topic to be discussed before going to the
learning resource center. b. Teachers should make teaching materials in a creative
way, in order to get the attention of the pupils. c. Teachers should have a survey on
the available resources in the learning center, to lessen the cost/expenditures in
making visual aids if it is available. d. After knowing the available resources, they
should decide what activities to be imposed using those available resources.

EPISODE 5
PAPER WORKS (Preparing Hand-outs)

The posting of handouts utilizing course management systems has become,

in many cases, a standard expectation by students. Perhaps this has been
motivated by the intent to provide more information than can be written
on a board or to make life easier for our students. I would suspect many of u
s have probably commented or heard from students how disappointing it was
that we did not get the handout for class or asked if the handout would be
available after the class.
The difficulties I encountered in making the hand-out were the selection of what
graphic organizer to be used that is best suited to my topic, as well as, the
preparation of the hand-out because it was time-consuming. In preparation of handouts, the teacher should decide what topic to be discussed. After deciding, the
teacher should choose what graphic organizer is best suited to the topic. The
teacher should be flexible in meeting the needs of the learners since learners have
multiple intelligences and varied learning styles.

EPISODE 6
(Slide Presentation)

A presentation program is supposed to help both: the speaker with an easier

access to his ideas and the participants with visual information which complements
the talk. PowerPoint presentations consist of a number of individual pages or
"slides", the ease of use of presentation software can save a lot of time for people
who otherwise would have used other types of visual aid

hand-drawn or mechanically typeset slides, blackboards or whiteboards, or

overhead projections. Ease of use also encourages those who otherwise would not
have used visual aids, or would not have given a presentation at all, to make
presentations. In making a slide presentation the teacher should consider the
learning process of the students, it should be unique and at the same time creative
in a way that the students can understand what you have made. For me, there is no
such thing as difficulties in making a slide presentation as long as you strive hard or
take an effort in doing that thing. In presenting your slide presentation, the teacher
should consider also the interest of the students so that they will listen attentively
and can catch the attention of the students. In making a slide presentation it also
helps the teacher summarize all of his/her discussion and the length of the time
required for discussion can be lessened. Instead of making a visual aid it is better to
make a slide presentation to have an effective and good interaction with the
students. As a future teacher, I will do my very best in doing a slide presentation
and can come up with a good presentation. It can help the students to take
down notes while Im discussing. For me, it is good to make a slide presentation
to make your work faster and easier to handle

EPISODE 7
(On-Line Learning)
Episode 7 REFELECTION Online learning also help make learning environment
interesting and engaging, learners are being exposed to technology and digital
devices so when they come to school, they have little to no patience for lecturestyle teaching. Since not all learners learn in the same fashion, employing the use of
online-learning in the classroom and at home help teachers reach all learning styles.
Engaging all learners will facilitate the comprehension of content and allows for
consistent progression in the teaching of material. On my experiences in surfing the
net to find sites that provide support materials and interactive programs on my
topic, I found out that it easy to get information about your topic because there is a
website that can assist you in your field of specialization like in mathematics. I feel
comfortable in searching information about my topic that I was observed. I saw and
understand what is really the point of my topic and I learned how easily to come up
about my topic. I choose it by means of their specific functions and usage. I always
consider the advantage and disadvantages of using them in school as learning
resources. I already master all the basics in computer operation which is really
helpful for me as a future mentor. I am literate in M.S Office application and other
components that might be very helpful in teaching career like photo editing and
web surfing and etc. Since everyday there is a change in technology, I prefer to
study more regarding it.
