GOAL STATEMENT/SECTION

HOW DEMONSTRATED (please note answ

ers /examples given
by student )

I have been In Alhanan advanced school,

and it was in Ajman, I was in a classroom
that

has

26

students

in

the

class.

Further, I had two teachers Mariam and

Shamsa, ms Shamsa was my mentoring
teacher and she was teaching math and
English while ms Mariam teach the
children Arabic, Islamic, science and
math in arabic. I actually learn lots of
things such as classroom management,
how to phrase the students and how to
treat with Stubborn students. In the
begging, they weren't has a curriculum
and in last two weeks in my practicum,
they bring the curriculum for them and
my MCT was very nervous from that new
curriculum.
Professionalism and Understanding:
Please give a brief description of the school, i.e.
boys/girls, size, location. Curriculum and texts
used
What different subjects are taught?

During my teaching practice, I enjoy

teaching the student the six lessons,
because when I taught them they were
so happy and I prepared the lesson in an
enjoyable

way,

and

like

teaching.

However, there are some challenges that

I faced such as students behavior, being
nervose and afraid to give the students
wrong information.

I show my commitment to my job as a

teacher in the school through coming
early to the school help the teacher and

Planning for Learning

Talk about the process of planning for lessons.
How did your MST go about this? How did you
plan to ensure you worked within the curriculum?

What did you learn about planning during the

practicum?
2

First I sit with the teacher, and we

discuss what they should learn or about
the curriculum, then the teacher gives
me the titles of the lessons and she give
me the opportunity to choose what I
want to teach.
Before I planned the lesson, I contact her
and ask her what the most important
that the children should learn in this
lesson first, my MST was helpful, and she
gives the steps that help me to provide
the lesson.
Making a lesson plan is the most
significant thing that you ever do before
giving a lesson, that helps me lots in
many aspects such as manage time,
making activities, be organized, and give
each of the student chance to being
involved in the lesson even if the
students was low level.

What challenges did you face when preparing

your lesson plans?

Explain how you planned for teaching speaking

and listening.

I think when I make a lesson plan I was

afraid that the students misuse the
activities or misunderstand me, further I
always afraid that there is no space in
the class and they are 26 students.

I planned a story that will let them listen,

and after the story, I will ask them
questions, and that will let the student
speak.

Implementing and Managing Learning

What strategies did you use to manage the
children?
Which were the most effective strategies you
observed your MST using in the classroom?

Describe a lesson you taught and the way in

which you implemented the lesson class work,
group work, and individual work. How successful
was this for you?

Explain the stages and how you taught listening

and speaking as an integrated process.
What

strategies

did

you

employ

to

To manage students behavior,

I try to use many strategies,
but the one that was effective
for the children is the reward
system I always try to put
their names or take their
names and that helps me to
control the classroom.
However, the teacher uses her
strategy which is remind them
about the rules, and they start
to be quiet and listen to her.
During my teaching practice, I
taught six lessons and one of
them was about number 4.
In this lesson I taught them
number 4, then I start to ask
questions about the number,
and they will answer me
individual by coming to the
board and solve the questions,
that was successful I think
because I let every child in the
classroom to involved. After
that, in the learning centers I
let them explore the number
in the group and some of them
individual, the lesson was
successful for the students
and me.

teach During my teaching practice, I

tell the student a story about
speaking /listening activities?
plants need, and they were
listening carefully I use puppet
to take their attention, After
What do you have to take into consideration
that I repeat the story again,
when teaching speaking/listening activities?
and while reading the story I
ask them questions, and that
will give them the opportunity
to speak.

Organization
What did you do to appear well organized when
in the schools? (refer to organizing your time,
portfolio, tasks etc).

Why do you think its important to be well

organized when in the school?
4

Have your organization and planning skills

improved? Yes - in what way? No - what steps
can you take to improve in this area?

Coming early.
Doing my task and
lesson plans on the
time.
Being with the teacher
and the student the
whole day.
Doing my portfolio on
the time.

To give my MST, staff and

administration the impression
that I'm a real good teacher
and Represent the collage.
Further, to be a professional
teacher.

I think I improve in planning

skills and being organized and
punctual.

Reflection
What has been your most powerful learning
throughout the practicum?
What was the most helpful feedback you
received during the placement?

What challenges did you face when writing your

reflections?

I think the square shape

lesson it was very powerful
lesson.

My MST gives me a lot of

comments in each lesson that
I taught, but the most helpful
for me was how to manage
the classroom and how to deal
with the children. Further, she
reminds me to use the rules
and use the reward system for
them. Also when I teach them
numbers, she advised me to
bring real objects into the
classroom because it's easier
for children to count the actual
objects.
I had two challenges during
writing my reflection the first
one is an aspect that I did very
well at and when I did not do
well at, these both are so
difficult to me, and I think that
I want to record myself to
observe me and write.

Were you able to make links between what you

did at college and what you observed or
experienced during TP? Give an example.

I ask my MST to help me after

each lesson that I taught, such
as "what you feel about what I
taught?" and "what you think
that I should change or stop
doing it"?
I learn in ECE 2203 (Learning
through Visual Arts ) many of
art technique, and that helps
me in many lessons in the
school.

this task the strategies that
the teacher uses because I
was focusing on what she did,
for example, I learned how the
teacher let the student stand
up and let them make a line
and how let them to clean up.

What changes would you make to the

observation tasks?

Adding a column that we write

in it our strategy. For example,
in transition task, I would add
a column that indicates
"writing your strategy that you
would use if you are the
teacher."

Refer to one artefact / other task / journal you

found interesting and tell about it.

Portfolio-Assessment Criteria to be completed

post interview.

I found out that the last

journal was interesting
because it has many feeling
and I'm sad that I will leave
