WMS being a prominent player in wealth management and banking area, there was a
constant need to generate a large number of reports which were used both for internal and
external purposes. In an effort to reduce the print consumption all the internal reports were
routed to a report management tool built on Mainframes. Over a period of time the number
of reports which were put on the Report Management tool became enormous and started
holding up critical system resources.
Roles and Responsibities
As the module lead for developing the backend processing engine, the main task is
to understand the overall requirements and designing the process flow for the solution.
Following are major responsibilities
Designing the overall process flow along with multi-node data ingestion design
Loading data into HDFS using Sqoop.
Pig script for reading the semi-structured data and loading them into HDFS
Hive script for extracting valid data from the Pig script output files
Integrating Pig and Hive scripts with HBase tables

Wealth Management solutions is a TrustDesk Systems Development. TrustDesk,
comprehensive UI software at frond end and Mainframes as back end-to-end solutions,
provides portfolio management, investment performance measurement, administrative and
investment compliance functionality, retirement distribution, enhanced relationship
reporting and Web access portals for customer account access. Its browser-based
functionality and a user-efficient design provide simple and intuitive navigation to more
than 200 institutions

Roles and Responsibilities:

Involved in preparation of unit test plan

Coding the program as per the client specifications mentioned

The Royal Bank of Scotland is one of the retail banking subsidiaries of the The Royal Bank of
Scotland Group plc, and together with NatWest and Ulster, provides banking facilities throughout
the British Isles. The Royal Bank of Scotland has around 700 branches, mainly in Scotland though
there are branches in many larger towns and cities throughout England and Wales. The Royal
Bank of Scotland and its parent, The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, are completely separate from
the fellow Edinburgh based bank, the Bank of Scotland, which pre-dates The Royal Bank of
Scotland by 32 years.
The VARS system exists as a discrete online and batch application. The online application resides
in the Back Office system and can be accessed via the Flexible Loan menu in both Enquiry and
Input modes. It currently possesses a number of functions to enable users to display and / or
update the Loan information for accounts that exist on VARS.
However, these functions and the underlying VARS loan information are not currently available to

TTP or any other system. The purpose of this project is to make some of the loan information that
is stored on VARS accessible to other systems via creating a new VARS function which will
subsequently call the existing VARS online functions to return the required VARS loan information.
