In coming few days the library is going to be equipped with
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology; order for

andTwoBoysHostelsinthehiredbuildingsatFactoryArea,PatialaandUrbanEstate,PhaseI,
Patiala.InJuly2011allboysandgirlsstudentshavebeenshiftedtoRGNULSidhuwalCampuson
completion of their respective Blocks and necessary facilities /amenities like electricity, water
supply,generatorbackup,sewagesystem,WiFiconnectivity,HealthServices,SecurityServices
etc. Since academic activities are still being continued from the Mohindra Kothi Campus the
conveyance for the students has been provided through two University buses and two hired
buses.Eachbusmakestwotripsbothinthemorningandtheevening.
The hostels are duly furnished and these are also provided with AC facilities at the rates
approvedbytheExecutiveCouncil.SeparateMessContractorsareoperatingattheseHostelsat
SidhuwalCampus.TheViceChancelloraddressedallthestudentsfromthenewbatchandtheir
parentsattheNewCampuson12July2011.
Provision of Faculty Houses: Ablockof12facultyhousesgotreadyinAugust2011.Thesehouses
havebeenallottedtoteachersandatpresent11housesareoccupiedbyProfessor,anAssociate
ProfessorandnineAssistantProfessors.Inoneofthehousesamakeshiftarrangementhasbeen
madefortheHealthServicesandtheCanteen.
Setting up of Plants Nursery: PlantsNurseryisbeingdevelopedinthecampus,tocatertothe
daytodayneedsforthelandscaping,plantationandworkstomaintaintheflowerbedsinthe
campusetc.
Solid Waste Management and Vermiculture: Solid Waste Management is being done in the
campusbyseparatingthedegradableandnondegradablematerials.Degradablematerialwillbe

used for irrigation purposes. There is also a provision for reuse of treated waste water for
flushingifthereisnoirrigationrequirement.
Water Harvesting: Rechargewellsarebeingprovidedtocaterthedisposalofrainwaterintothe
ground.Thiswillsurelyconserve/harvestwater,andwillsafeguardthecampusfromflooding.
