Crop tool

The Crop tool allows you to select an area of an image and discard everything outside this area. The tool is
located third from the top in the photoshop tool, on the left side.
Although cropping reduces the dimensions of an image, it is not the same as resizing. Whereas resizing
reduces or enlarges the entire image and everything in it, cropping does not alter the size of the image content
at all.

Using the Crop Tool

Select the crop tool in the toolbox.

Select an area of the image to retain (just the same as making a normal selection).

When you release the mouse button, the area to be retained is highlighted. This is what the new image will
look like.

You can move or transform the crop area by dragging the selection or the selection handles.

press enter key to perform crop.

This is how your new image will look like

4. Healing Brush Tool

The Healing Brush tool allows you to fix image imperfections such as scratches, blemishes, etc. By sampling
the surrounding area or using a predefined pattern you can blend the imperfections into the rest of the image.
The healing brush tool is located in the photoshop tool, on the left side

Select the healing brush in the toolbox.

Check the settings in the options bar and adjust if necessary. Options include:
- Brush size
- Blending mode
- Source (Sampled from the image or pre-defined pattern)
- Aligned

If you're using sampled mode, Alt-click an area near the imperfection to define the starting point.

Click and drag over the imperfection. If aligned is selected, the healing brush will remember the starting
point between mouse clicks.

5. Spot healing brush tool

Spot healing brush

The spot healing brush is the default healing tool in Photoshop and can be used to clone areas from an image and
blend the pixels from the sampled area seamlessly with the target area. The basic principle is that the texture from
the sample area is blended with the color and luminosity surrounding wherever you paint. The main difference
between this and the standard healing brush is that the spot healing brush requires no source point. You simply click
on the blemishes you want to get rid of (or drag with the tool to paint over the larger areas you wish to repair) and the
spot healing brush works out the rest for you. It is in many ways a lot easier to use than the standard healing brush
and extremely effective e at removing most blemishes and marks. To see examples of the healing brush and the
patch tool in action, check out some of the repairing and retouching tutorials shown in Chapter 8

7. Clone stamp tool

Clone Stamp tool selects and samples an area of your picture and then uses these pixel to paint over
any marks. The Clone Stamp tool acts like a brush so you can change the size, allowing cloning from just
one pixel wide to hundreds. You can change the opacity to produce a subtle clone effect. Also, there is a
choice between Clone align or Clone non-align the sample area.
