Annotated Bibliography on Animal Cruelty

Wilson, J. M. (2015, February 17). The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals (ASPCA). Retrieved October 2, 2016, from
http://www.aspca.org/about-u
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is also referred to
as ASPCA. Being the first humane society to be established in North America, it
is now one of the largest known today. Their organization is still founded on the
belief that animals are entitled to rights and that they do have a voice. ASPCA
believes that animals of all kinds should be protected by the law from physical,
mental, social cruelty and financial neglect. Their headquarters is in New York
City, New York. Although they are headquartered in New York, the ASPCA
maintains a strong local presence in smaller cities. The main goal of ASPCA
programs are that they extend our mindset of anti-cruelty. Their mission has
been expanded across the country, they are recognized as a national animal
welfare organization. ASPCA is a privately funded and not-for-profit corporation
their main goal is to help animals, not make profit. Plus with all their global
support they have proudly more than 2 million supporters across the country.
Thats why I chose this website because I know they are doing it for the animals
and they are a well creditable source.

stories.htm

Animal Abused & Abandoned, Inc. is a small local rescue group in El Paso,
Texas. Animals Abused & Abandoned, Inc. was founded in the year, 2007. The
corruption pays veterinarians and vendors for medical/surgical care, spay/neuter
surgeries, and medicines. They provided a unique volunteer work shift because
they are under funded in the animal charity world based on their numbers. Even
though their main goal is to help animals they also provide both a humane and
vitally important community service. The base in El Paso, Texas helps over
thousand animals a year. Thats why I chose this source because even though they
are underfunded, in their numbers, they still want to help and they actually do it.
Additionally, it is an .org source meaning it gives its self credit. They do ask for
donations, but the main handout is a like on Facebook regarding their page. The
whole point of this like is because we are a technology era and a like does
more than money in todays time.
Leigh, J. X. (n.d.). Animal Cruelty Must Stop. Retrieved October 2, 2016, from

The author of this website is expressing in this essay that Animal cruelty Must
Stop. She brings up valid points by the 1997 study done by the Massachusetts
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Northeastern University. The
website is not fully a person opinion but it does share a lot of original ideas.
Throughout the document she explains about her personal experience about
involving animal cruelty. In this paper she states using studies done throughout
the United States to back up her personal stories. She believes in a nation we

need to make it our priority to come together and ensure the safety of our beloved
pets. By her expressing her ideas and conclusions with the Internet and backing
up with other peoples research/studies thats why I used this source. This is a
.com page but the information is justified through many well-educated ad
informed study groups.
Animal Abuse and Neglect. (n.d.). Retrieved October 2, 2016, from
http://www.humanesociety.org/issues/abuse_neglect/
Animal Abuse and Neglect and their affiliates provide hands-on care and services
to more than 100,000 animals each year. Professionalize through education and
training for local organizations field. They do lead animal advocacy organization,
seeking a humane world for people and animals alike. Animal Abuse and Neglect
Inc. are driving transformational change in the United States and around the world
by combating large-scale cruelties such as puppy mills, animal fighting, factory
farming, seal slaughter, horse cruelty, captive hunts and the wildlife trade. I chose
this website source because they are doing more contributors than other
organizations for example the puppy mills, animal fighting, factory farming, seal
slaughter, horse cruelty, captive hunts and the wildlife trade. Plus this source is
an .org; therefore, people have given it value to its name.
Pet finder. (n.d.). Retrieved October 2, 2016, from
https://www.petfinder.com/animal-shelters-and-rescues/
Pet finder is an online, searchable database of animals that need homes right
away. Across the United States, Canada and Mexico, Pet finder has nearly 14,000
animal shelters and adoption organizations. Their mission

Is to use Internet technology and the resources it can generate to people across the
world. It is to increase public awareness of the availability of high-quality
adoptable pets everywhere. Increase the overall effectiveness of pet adoption
programs across North America. Lastly, elevate the status of pets to that of family
member. They do this by presenting the idea of the people never having to leave
the comfort of their home. Pet lovers can search for a pet that best matches their
needs. They can then reference a shelters web page and discover what services it
offers. I decided to pick this source because the website, Pet finder, includes
discussion forums, a pet-care resource directory and a library of free pet-care
articles to help keep pets in their owners homes. Thats why I feel its creditable;
it helps in owners in everywhere possible for owners to keep their beloved animal.

Project, T. S. P. Resources for pet owners. Retrieved October 3, 2016, from The Shelter
Pet Project, http://theshelterpetproject.org/shelters
The Shelter Pet Project is the result of a collaborative effort between two leading
animal welfare groups, The Humane Society of the United States and Maddies
Fund. Their goal is to make shelters the first place potential adopters turn when
looking to get a new pet. Ensuring that all healthy and treatable pets find loving
homes eternally. They do this by breaking down misconceptions surrounding
shelter pets, in local areas and communicating that the idea A person is the best
thing to happen to a shelter pet. Be that person. Adopt. I picked this source
because they do the breaking down process differently than any other

organization. The Shelter Pet Project actually goes in person to pet shelters to
express and plan out their ideas based on what the current shelter needs.
