screenoutofafogandexpandpasttheactualscreen.~Secondly,aLegendaryPictureslogo
willalsoexpandpastthescreenoutofthedarkness.Then,insteadofexpanding,the~Film's
namewillfadeontothescreenstayingonthescreenforalittlelongerthanthe
production/distributioncompaniesasthewillallowtheaudiencetotakeinthenameand
applyittowhatevertheyseeonthescreentoseeiftheyactuallycomeacrossan'Access
Code'.Oncethathascomeontothescreen,itwillthenfadeoffinto~blacknessagain.This
time,thedarknesswillbeextendedtocapturetheaudiencesimaginationofwhattheyfeel
likethey'llexpecttocomeforthefilm.Duringthissequence,therewillbeaslowescalation
soundofbasemusicasthiswilladdtensionandeffect.

2.PROTAGONIST(JOE)WAKINGUP
Afterallofthishashappenedandthescreenhasbeenblackforalittlebit,therewillbean
abruptawakening.Forthis,Iwillneedtoshowanextremecloseupoftheprotagonist()opening
hiseyesandgaspingforbreath.Hewillopenhiseyesquicklyandwidelyasthiswillmakeitout
asifthecharacterisconfusedanddistortedyetalsoabitafraid.Thecharacter,duringthisshot,
willopenhiseyesquicklythenlookleftandrightinaverysharpfashion.Hewillthenclosehis
eyesasiftoblinkthenamatchonactionshotwillbeheld.Afterheblinks,thescreenwillgo
blackforhalfasecondandthentheblacknesswillquicklytransitionintoanotherlongshotofthe
characterleadonahospital(medicalroom)bed.()(~)Thecharacterseyesarenowwideopen
andheislookingaroundtheroomfeelinganxiousanddistorted.Hewillexpressthathefeelsthis
wayintheuseofbodylanguageandexpressionashewillbelookingaround,breathingfastand
rustlingthebedheisin(thisisoverexaggeratedinthescript).Inthisscene,wewillbeableto
hearthestereotypicalbeepsofhospitalequipmentgoingoffaswellasfootsteps.Thescenewill
beasmallroom.Thelightingwillbedimwithaslightgreytintaddedtocreatetheeffectofadull
hospital.Thescenewillthencloseinonacloseupofthecharactersfaceandwewillseehim
breathingfastandlookingaround.Hegivesasquintinhiseyeatsomethingnearthedoorasifhe
isconcentratingonsomething.Thiswillactasatransitioneffecttothenextshot.

3.NURSE()
Thefootstepscanstillbeheardinthebackgroundgettinglouderand,shortlyafterthe
charactersquintsontheobjectnearthedoor,thecamerawillswitchtoaneyeline
matchofwhatthecharacterissquintingat.Thisshotwillbefilmedusingafisheye
lensasthiswillmaketheaudienceknowwearelookingthroughthecharacter's
perspective.Thefisheyesequencewillbefilmedusingshakycam.Thiswillletthe
audienceknowthatthischaracterisdistressed.Theshotwilljustbeapanoftheroom
fromrighttoleft.However,weareintroducedtoanewcharacterinthissequence.

PROTAGONIST:UHHH??
Thecameranowswitchesbacktothefisheyecamera.Weseethe
cameraslightlyshakyandmovingtoshowthemovementofthe
protagonistshead.Wecanseeallcharactersintheroomnow
staringattheprotagonistwithabigsmileandwiththeirhead
slightlytothelefttoamplifytheeffectofthequestionasked.

Protagonist:Imokaythanks.
Whilstthecharacterissayingthis,thecamerashotwillbeaclose
upofhimscratchinghisheadandlookingconfused.Heissatonhis
beadbythispointandhewillbeconfused.

4.ESCAPE
Inthisscene,wewillfollowthecharacterasheismakinghis
plantoescape.Thisisntshownliterallybutitisimplied.All
thecharactersinthisscenearestaringdirectlyintothe
protagonistseyesmakinghimseematease.AstheNurseleaves,
weseealowanglelongshotoftheNurseatthedoor.Thecamera
isfacingthenursefromthepointinwherethecharacteris
sitting.

TheNursethenleavestheroom.Thecharacterisleftdisorientatedand
confusedstill.Asthecharacterstandsup,thecamerawillbebehind
thecharacterinafollowshot.WeseeaDutchAngleusedasthe
characterstandsup.Heisusinghishandsalottoleanagainst
differentobstacleslikethewallorthecountertoshowheisdizzy.
Thereisalotofjumpcutsusedheretomakethecharacterseemanxious
butitwillbeafollowshot.Wefollowthecharacterashewalksoutof
theroomandintothecorridor.Asthecharacterwalksouttheroom,the
camerapanstothenurseassheshouts:

NURSE:WHEREREYOUGOING?!?YOURENOTREADYYET!!
5.THECORRIDOOR
Weseealowangleshotofthecharacteropeningthedoorofthe
Nursesoffice.Heslamsitopenandcontinuestowalkasthecamera
panspasthimandwatcheshimwalkpast.Hislefthandisonhishead
andheisstumblingfromlefttoright.Heisusinghishandsonthe
wallagainhereashestumblesdownthecorridor.Thecamerawillbe
behindhimthewholetimeinthissequencetomakeitseemevenmore
mysteriousandconfusingtotheaudience.Therearemanyjumpcutsas
theProtagonistjumpsfromputtinghishandfromonewalltoanother.

6.THEREALISATION

Thisscenewillfollowondirectlyfromthepreviousone.Wehear
themumbridgingthroughthescenesaying

Asthemumsaisthis,thesceneisstillfollowingthecharacter.
However,theroomiscrumbling.Itisdistortingandbecomingconfusing
towatch.Allofasudden,thescenefadestowhite.Whenthesceneis
completelywhite,thecameraswitchestoanexactmatchincolourofa
closeupofavirtualrealityheadsetthecameranowzoomsoutandwe
seeaboysatinhisroomtakingofftheheadsetandlookingaround.The
cameraisstillslowlymovingaway.Veryslowly.

Protagonist:coming!
Thecharactergetsupslowlyandstretches.Weseethecharacter
walkouthisroomandshutthedoorbehindhim.Indoingso,the
cameraslowlymovestowardsthedoorhandleinthesamepaceasthe
doorisclosing.Asthedoorslamsshut,thecamerastopsmoving.It
isnowattheclosestpossibleangletothedoorhandle.
