Summary of Periods Activities

Dewatering Switchroom fit out is progressing. Installation of the MCCs and VSDs are in progress.
Switchroom legs, platforms, stairs and handrails are ready to ship. A 20ft open top container is to be
delivered to Plummers when a ship is found. A 20ft flat rack will also be delivered for the Compressors
MCC.
The FAT for the Compressors MCC has been completed and the UPS Power Supply problems have
apparently been resolved but this needs to be verified. Phoenix has reported that there was a software
problem and now believes that all the Power Supplies are OK.

During functional testing of the MCC it was found that the main Incoming Circuit Breaker could not be
closed if the UPS batteries are not charged. This is due to the under voltage coil requiring UPS power to
allow the CB to close but the UPS cannot be charged unless the CB is closed. This was referred to CPC
as it was another error in their design. This has now been resolved with the installation of a changeover
switch and a 220Volt inlet which will need to powered from an external source (most likely a small
generator) if the UPS batteries are flat. This should not need to be used very often. This also applies for
the Dewatering MCCs and the same changes will be made.

Power Electronics has replaced all of the damaged panels on the VSDs but has not yet issued the test
reports. Plummers are following this up.

The current Plummers schedule indicates a further delay of 1 week due to the MCCs not arriving from
Perth. It was thought that the schedule could be brought back on track with additional manpower but
Plummers has since discovered that the air conditioners require a Neutral to operate but CPC have not
allowed for this. The MCCs need to comply with AS3007 requirements for electrical equipment within a
pit or underground. AS3007 requires an IT wiring system where by all 220V services are supplied from
an isolation transformer, thus removing the requirement for a floating neutral. This is done to primarily
avoid stray leakage currents within the pit environment which may accidentally setting off electric
detonators. Plummers has ordered the isolating transformers from Perth but they may not arrive before
the switchroom is shipped. They will need to be shipped separately and installed on site. But this is not
a big job. They will issue a CV early next week for these. This now means that the delay cannot be
completely made up but Plummers expect to be able to dispatch the Switchroom by the 9th November.
