Kahoot is a free game-based learning platform that makes it fun
to learn any subject, in any language, on any device, for all ages.
Kahoots are best played in a group setting, like a classroom.
Players answer on their own devices, while games are displayed
on a shared screen to unite the lesson.
Kahoot! is typically used for formative assessment, to monitor
each students progress towards learning objectives, identify
strengths and weaknesses, and to identify areas where the
students would benefit from more one-to-one teaching, more
challenging learning opportunities, or a review of foundational
knowledge for that subject. The majority of Kahoots users are
students and teachers in K-12 classrooms
Kahoot was developed by Johan Brand, Jamie Brooker and
Morten Versvik, as a joint project between Mobitroll and the
Norwegian University of Technology & Science.
Edmodo is an independent web site that helps students bridge
the gap between how they live their lives and how they learn in
school.
Edmodo was founded in 2008 in Chicago, IL by two school
district employees.
Features include: unlimited storage, quickly create groups,
assign homework, schedule quizzes, manage progress. It is
available online, and for Android, iOS, and Windows
Edmodo was created to bring education into a 21st century
environment.
It is now the number one K-12 social learning network in the
world, dedicated to connecting all learners with the people and
resources they need to reach their full potential.

Skype is for doing things together, whenever youre apart.

Pin just about any image you find interesting on this site,

Quizlet is an online learning tool created by Andrew


Sutherland as a tool to help him study for a high school French
vocabulary test. It was originally conceived in October 2005 and
released to the public in January 2007.

spelling, play learning games, test their knowledge, collaborate
with other students, and more.

Google Docs is a free Web-based application in which documents

worry about which version of a document is the most current -- it
will always be saved in the Google cloud. Multiples users can

QR codes (quick response codes) are showing up with greater
frequency in education. A QR code consists of black squares
arranged in a square grid on a white background, which can be
read by an imaging device such as a camera
The QR code system was invented in 1994 by Denso Wave. Its
purpose was to track vehicles during manufacture. Users can
generate and print their own QR codes for others to scan.
With the posting of a QR code, you can lead students to
information by just using their computer's or mobile device's
camera.

Schoology is an online learning management system for K-12


schools, higher education institutions, and corporations that allow
users to create, manage, and share content and resources. It was
designed by Jeremy Friedman, Ryan Hwang, Bill Kindler and
Tim Trinidad in 2007 while still undergraduates at Washington
University in St. Louis, MO. Originally designed for sharing
notes. Schoology is offered to educators free of charge.
Features include: Instructional Tools, Communication and
Collaboration, Mobile App, and an Assessment Management
Tool.
Schoology will allow teachers to develop, manage, and distribute
course materials, create auto-graded tests and quizzes, give
parents visibility into childs activities and progress
Remind is a free text messaging app that helps teachers, students,
and parents communicate quickly and efficiently. Messages are
sent in real time to an entire class, a small group, or just a single
person. You can also schedule announcements ahead of time and
attach photos and other files. You can send text messages and
translate your messages into more than 70 languages before you
send.
Remind is based in San Francisco, CA and is actively used by
more than 20 million people. Remind was founded by Brett and
David Kopf.

Socrative is a web-based smart student response system used to


deploy polls and quizzes for instant feedback and self-assessment.
Socrative works with any device that has internet access. It may
be used for formative assessment, exit polls, and to acquire
general feedback. You can also create fun games and exercises for
small teams. Teachers can create their own Personal Learning
Network to share resources and assessments with other teachers.
