Pride of Providence Marching Band- (9, 10, 11, 12)
-Marched Trumpet and Baritone my freshmen and sophomore year.
-Became the Assistant Drum Major and Head Drum Major my junior and senior year.
-Ran rehearsals consisting of over 140 members (averaging 28 hours a week for a 13-week
period)
Cuba Mission Trip (Summer before 10, 11, 12)
-Spent a week each summer in Santiago de Cuba ministering to the locals, helping expand a
church, a seminar, a retirement facility, and farm.
-Reached out to the natives and spread the gospel in the outskirts of Santiago.
Mens Varsity Tennis (9, 10, 11, 12)
-Was the 2015 Varsity Captain of a tennis team of around 20 members.
-Named to the All-Conference Team in the same season and received the Coachs Award.
-Tennis team last season was the 2015 South Mecklenburg Conference Champion. (12 hours a
week over a 14-week period)
Intern at the Gene Therapy Center (Summer before 12th grade)
-Participated in a volunteer internship at the Samulski Lab at the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill.
-Assisted in were DNA Isolation and splitting cell cultures. (40hr/week over a period of 1-week)
Joy Prom (10, 11, 12)
-A two-night event is held at Carmel Baptist Church and is designed for people with special
needs.
-Was a host/date each night for the past three years. (8hr/wk over a period of 1 week a year)
Habitat for Humanity Restore (11, 12)
-Volunteered at the Restore, mainly over the summer (6 hours a week over a 3-week period)
Model UN (9, 10, 12)
-Won the Most Improved Delegate in the 2012 SPECPOL Committee at the Southern United
States Model United Nations at Emory University.
-Won the Outstanding Delegate in the UNICEF Committee at the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte Model United Nations. (4 hours a week over a period of 30 weeks)

-Inducted into National Honor Society my senior year.
-Participated in many school wide service projects such as Campus Beautification. (1hr/wk)
