The accord will remain in effect for so long as it is acceptable and desirable
to both signatories. The parties may agree to modifications in writing as
they deem necessary. Either signatory may withdraw from the accord by
giving at least 12 months written notice to the other party of its intent to
terminate the agreement and the effective date of termination. The
terminating party will be responsible for notification of the bodies and
organizations defined in B.2. above of the termination of this accord.

APA accreditation in Canada ends in 2015
First Street Accord establishes mutual recognition of accreditation
between APA and CPA.
CoA will no longer accredit programs in Canada after Sept. 1, 2015, and
most of the remaining Canadian programs will continue accredited status
until that date. The phase-out process of accreditation involved a multiyear
process during which the Canadian Psychological Association
(CPA) formulated its own standards and principles for professional
psychology programs in that nation. As a means of continuing shared
understanding of the core elements of quality upon which specialized
accreditation is founded, APA and CPA signed the First Street Accord in
2012 establishing mutual recognition of each associations accreditation
systems. Although no reciprocal accreditation status is extended to
