2.1.4 Mining Method
The operation is an open cast benching mining method using heavy
equipments such as Hydraulic Excavator, Dump truck for its production.
Extraction start from the top portion of the area with a maximum bench height
of 4 meters and slope of 60 degrees. Run-Of Mine materials are brought to
the nearby proponent nearby project or market.

2.3.1
The project site is accessible thru a 10 kilometres all weather barangay
road from the area to Barangay Poblacion,passing thru either Barangay
Malanang o Patag.
2.3.2 Air Access
Opol, Misamis Oriental is about 40 kilometers to Alubijid International
Airport,Alubijid, Misamis Oriental,wherein several flights are available to
Manila and Cebu (vice Versa)and being serve both by CEBU PACIFIC
AIRLINES and PHILIPPINE AIRLINES.
2.3.3 Shipping
Opol, Misamis Oriental is respectively 12 and 32 kilometres from
Domestic and International Port of Cagayan De Oro and Tagoloan
International Container Port,Tagoloan, Misamis Oreiental.

2.4

Power Supply

Electric power is supplied by MORESCO II through a transmission line


from 167 KVA transformers. Power is being used for minor power
requirements of the project such as lighting system in the mining area, Mine
office, Camp house and Housing units.

2.6.2 Housing Options


The project proponent will provide Mine Office and Camp house in the
area. Housing will also be constructed to accommodate personnel who will
relocate their near to the area of operation.

Development Schedule
As soon as the Quarry Permit is approved, a project proponent will
conduct immediately is development specially a mine access road, be area
stockpile pod and its mined benching system of 4 meters high. Development
take to about 1 month followed by its mining operation.

Environmental Impacts and Control


3.1

Land Resources

3.1.1 Acceptable Impacts associated during the construction,


development and mining operation

For Open Cut Mines

Bench site are limited to 4 meters high for optimum


equipment efficiency an angle of repose of not more than 60
degrees for better slope stability. Waste dump well also be
develop for over burden produce during the development and
mining operation.

will not be affected by the development in mining operations.

Water Resources
Area has no water resources, natural artificially created that will
be affected by run off or overflow from siltation pond from the mining
operations

3.2.2 Control Strategies

A series of sediment control dump will be
constructed on the existing creeks to have an efficient
impoundment and collection of run off materials.

Noise
Acceptable Levels emanating from potential source of noise.
The propose mining area is far from existing residence in the
area. Secondly the mining operation will be limited to 8:00 oclock P.M.
so as not to disturb the sleeping time of the residence of Barangay
Malanang Patag and Opol Poblacion, Misamis Oriental.

3.4

Air Quality
3.4.1 Acceptable Levels of Air Quality

To avoid dust generation during the operation, a
proponent will undertake 3 schedule of water sprinkling 1 at 8:00 A.M.,
1 at 11:00 A.M. and 1 at 3:00 oclock P.M., water sprinkling will done in
all used roads.

All loaded dump trucks should be covered by canvas and
properly tide up.

3.5

Conservation Values
The area has no existing natural parks, visual aestitics,
recreation and educational sites and heritage and cultural values to
be taken care by the proponent

3.9 Social Issues


The constituents of Barangay Malang, Patag are engaged in
Small Scale Farming and such as coco plantation and coco farming the
existence operation to generate income of the barangay in terms of
extraction fees and create employment opportunities in the area.
Other Suggestive Initiative are as follows:
1. Conduct training and seminar on livelihood seminar in coordination
with the department of Trade and Industry with the Local
government Unit of Opol, Misamis Oriental and Barangay
Malanang, Patag
