Educational System in Greece

Greece Education system is influenced by the French in many categories. In which

according to the (Tech-nology) web they have mentioned that the country has replicated the
system into their own. Greece education system is very different compare to American education
system. The system of education follows the one rule that all children must attend school until
they have reached the age of 16.
The education in Greece are sub divided into three categories. There is primary school in
which attends for first grade through the sixth grade. Which children or as they are referred in
Greece pupil spend about five to four hours in school. As well the children in Greece are not
force to attend kindergarten but is an option and do not start school until they are age six. The
schedule for primary schools is either in the morning or the evening. Which the school day starts
at 7:15 am to 1:30 pm. But schedule changes if you start in the evening, classes start at 2:00pm
and do not end until 7:00 pm. For secondary students they are at school about 6 t 7 hours. Their
schedule was not published info that was not provided. But after secondary, one as a student has
a choice if they want to continue school and either go to a vocational school or academic, if
either decide to go to college or a university it is free to go to school. Or the second option is that
they can always join the job market and start working.
With knowledge background of Greece Education system now in the modern time there
is data shown that support of the three most important goals of the UN Global Initiative
priorities. Which the first one is that all children be put to schools which is validated that all

children according to this map supports that goal being met in Greece.

As you can see that there is about 34% total attending either a vocational or academic school.
Which does not include a private school that is there is missing info data of Greece. But with the
provided data there are more males continue attending school after their secondary education.
Which can relate to culture for the lack of numbers in female categories. As well the number
should be expected to be high if after secondary education college and university schools are free
to those who attend. As to have said that many students who attend school should be have had a
higher percentage in vocational and technical schooling which does not meet the 3rd goal in the
UN Global Initiative priorities. Which is to foster the global citizenship. If there are not enough
students enrolled in either vocational or technical schools, how are they going to meet the goal to
be literate in global knowledgeable citizens? Which is the one goal that is lacking to be satisfied
in Greece. But to look at the percentages in the next chart.
According to this chart that was found in the world bank website, with percentage it as
well meets the first goal of putting every child in school. Either this is covered in secondary
education where most have the ability to discontinue attending a type of education. But is not
exactly the case, because there is about almost 100% percent of students attending school in the
secondary education. Which is more than meeting the requirement from other countries. Which
Greece is exceeding as well a high percentage from female category and has a more diverse

students and being global citizens in the secondary education that is half way meeting the goal of
UN Global Initiative priorities. As well has improved the education of learning for both sexes.

There are statistics found through the website from Teach-nology that provide support the
improvement of Greece learning in education for example Greece scored 11th place in advanced
students in science with a score of a 486(Teach-nology) and Greece ranked 96th with on going
for 9 years in the duration of compulsory category (Teach-nology). As well these statistics in
the mathematical literacy Greece ranked 25th with a score of 447 (Teach-nology) which these
statistic supports the ability of students in the secondary schools in Greece have been awarded
and ranked for the positioned that were places in subjects that have been learned from the
education system in Greece. Greece has had improvements and said to be met the goals in UN
Global Initiative priorities.
