Karate: Students will be introduced to basic karate skills and excersice that will

improve cordination, strength, conditioning and reflexses. They will also develop
confidence, self-esteem and respect for others
Martial Arts: Students will be introduced to basic matial artsskills and exercises
that will imprive coordination, strength, conditioning and reflexses. They will also
develop self-esteem, confidence and respect for others.

Painting & Drawing: children will explore drawing & painting using quantities of
materials, such as pencil, watercolor and more
Painting & Drawing (S.K.): children will explore drawing & painting using
quantities of materials, such as pencil, watercolor and more. Plus, we will focus on
the individual needs of each child more in this class

Printmaking, Collage & Mosaic: Children will learn a variety of print making
techniques. Explore collage with many recycled and found objects. Make mosaics
using tiles, shells and more
Weekly Curriculum Student Assessment
Week 1: Introduction. Teach half of strings, how to tune and importance of tunning.
Simple sturmming patterns.
Week 2: Warm up with sttrumming patten , have students tune one string by
themselves. Go over name of strings, teach first chord.
Week 3: warm up, teach new strumming pattern. Tune two strings, go over 2nd &
1st chord. Teach FACE on staf.
Week 4: two strumming pattern warm up. Tune two strings, go over chords, start
switching between D & G with 4 seconds in between.
Week 5: tune 2 strings, review FACE & teach the Every Good Boy Does Fine.
Review chords, switch between chords in 3 seconds.
Week 6: have 3 strings tuned, test them on notes on staf. Switch between G & D in
2 seconds. Start G&A and D&A, 4 seconds

Week 7: tune 3 strings, switch G&D in zero seconds, the other two in 2 seconds.
Teach C,D,E,F on strings
Week 8: tune 4 strings, test students on C,D,E,F on strings. Play chords in the
prigression of song, 2 seconds in between
Week 9: tune 4 strings, go over C-F. Teach them G,A,B. Play song chords with 1
second in between.
Week 10: tune 5 strings, play C scale while reading notes. Try song with zero
seconds in between.
Week 11: tune 5 strings, play scale forward and backward. Play song, should be
smooth.
Week 12: tune G string, test on reading notes on staf. Play song together, ask what
they want to learn next time.

Week 1: name of strings, tunning, spider scale, Introduce chords teach cord
Week 2: going over spider scale chords, teach them to read tabs
Week 3: test them on chors, test them on spider scale, increase tempo, introduce
tabs
Week 4: go over chords teach them the first riff (tabs) for the first punt of the song
in the E minor scale
Week 5: go over riff and chords give them the next riff for homework
Week 6: go over riff and chords and start on the next riff
Week 7: go over riff and chords incorporate next riff
Week 8: going over chords and passing tunes
Week 9: go over chords and passing tunes and riff
Week 10: test students on chords, riff and passing tunes
Week 11: test students on the whole song
Week 12: introduce the chords and the riff on the music staf

Week 1: introduce all drum parts on drum set. Introduce paradiddle and warm-up
excersice

Week 2: warm-up/ introduce first drum beat/ practice 1st beat


Week 3: warm-up/ go over 1st beat/ show drum video/ practice
Week 4: warm-up/ introduce 2nd beat/ practice 2nd beat/ go over 1st beat
Week 5: warm-up/ go over 2nd beat/ prafcftice both beats/ introduce off beat
Week 6: warm-up/ introduce 3rd beat/ practice 3rd beat/ show video
Week 7: warm-up/ go over 3rd beat/ practice combiining the 3 beats learned
Week 8: warm-up/ introduce 4th beat/ practice 4th beat/show video
Week 9: warm-up/ go over all beats learned / introduction on drum fills
Week 10: warm-up/ go more into fills (if student is able)/ go over beats
Week 11: warm-up/ practice everything learned/ introduce crative thinking
Week12: warm-up/ practice everything learned/ go more into creative thinking with
drums

Week 1-3: Color mixing: red, yellow and blue, using warm colors, using cool colors
Week 4-5: Making tone and shade using black and white
Week 6-7: charcoal drawings, chalk pastels
Week 8-10: self-portrait (small), self-portrait (Large)
Week 11-12: create a portfolio and finish all projects.

Week 1-4: 4 weeks of printmaking; monoprints, woodblock printing , finger paint


prints and more,
Week 5-8: 4 weeks of collage: revisit "Matisse" style of collage and create a
variety of collages using diverse materials and paper.
Week9-12: 4 weeks to create a mosaic: possibly a flower pot or tea pot mosaic.
Finish all projects.
