Marion is the cofounder of a_BAHN (Luxembourg and France), a documentary and
fiction films production company, specialising in new forms of storytelling. She has
focused her productions on citizen-provided content, working on themes such as
wartime sexual violence, modern slavery in Lebanon or how to create an intergenerational community to consider the possible future of our society...
Her first production, broadcast by ARTE, SOUNDHUNTERS, was awarded a GOLD FIPA
and a nomination at the Europa Prize in Berlin. EAVE Producer Workshop alumni, she
orientates her activities toward international co-productions, as her latest features
ARTIC DREAM and AFTERGLOW (supported by Sundance Institute, HBO EUROPE and
winner at Trieste Pitching) can confirm.
For a few years now, Marion has also been active in evangelizing new methods of
storytelling to national institutions, broadcasters, authors etc. She is working with
several funds in setting up an umbrella for these specific contents and helping the
growth of relationships between different national funds, such as Canada and Norway
did with Luxembourg recently. In the same line, Marion is also a cofounding member of
PXN (a French union of producers producing new types of storytelling contents, the
goal being to fight for their interests with the CNC and Ministry of Culture), and is in
charge of the New Storytelling cell within the ULPA (Luxembourg Union of Audiovisual
Producers). Marion also gives master-classes on themes like the challenges of writing
trans-media, or international co-production in this field for DOKFEST Munich or
DOCUDAYS in Kiev.
Marion is also implicated in the Consultative Commission for the Ministery of Culture,
with other representatives of the arts fields in Luxembourg (theater, danse, performing
arts...), to advise on cultural laws, attribute art grants and special artist status. Her
latest project is the creation and organization of FARR, the first international film
festival for virtual reality films. FARR is a celebration of diversity and innovation in
storytelling, a diversity and innovation we can find everywhere in her filmography.

Director Irina Maldea had a happy childhood in the magic environment of the Romanian
film studios at a time when 30 films per year were produced, a record never equalled
before or since. Romania was at its peak, friends with everybody and a greatly
improved living standard. Everybody had homes, jobs, free education, healthcare.
Nowadays Romania is remembered through the prism of the last years of the 80's
and early 90's, when austerity hit hard and a victorious West dismantled the
achievements of earlier decades. Irina tries to explain to her Irish-born daughter the gap
between her own memories and the narrative imposed by the West and tries to create
legacy of which she can be proud.

The Wall is the story of a young female poet in North Korea. The director David
Kinsella wanted to make a real a documentary, but the government in North
Korea brought in over 1000 extras to make Kinsella produce what they wanted:
propaganda.
Under pressure from the North Korean censor, the documentary is filmed in
such a way that the animation could be overlaid onto the images when he
returned to Norway and used to tell the real story.
Understanding that in North Korea all foreigners are spies and evil, David
Kinsella realised that he had also been told this as a boy growing up in Northern
Ireland and so he made a comparison between his own childhood in Belfast,
and his North Korean adventure movie.

Losing his memory after a mugging, a man known only as 'MP' (Missing Person) leaves
his home and sets out on a journey - in search not only for his memory but perhaps also
for a new identity. MP finds himself confronted by a world in which there are no longer
any certainties; an era of crisis on many levels. On his travels from country to country,
portrayed via an associative image montage and through a series of strange,
illuminating, sometimes comic encounters, MP attempts to gain insight into the
complexity of life in the 21st-century West - into what commentators have called an age
of 'rolling catastrophe'.

BIOFILMOGRAPHY
I was born in Cracow in 1978, at the time when Poland had one of the best football team
in the world, Edward Gierek was the head of the communist party and Miroslaw
Hermaszewski as the only one Pole in the whole history was taking a part in a space
odyssey.
Directly after birth I begun learning, I was only learning, learning, learning... Finally in
2006 I came to Lodz to study at the directing department in famous Polish National
Film School (but not finished! I had been thrown away in 2014!).
But earlier, before they had thrown me away, I managed to make my master degree
diploma film: a full-length movie entitled Jaskolka [eng. The Caged Swallow], which is
the second full length diploma film in the Lodz Film School history after Jerzy
Skolimowski's Rysopis [eng.Identification Marks: None] from 1964.
My films have been screened on numerous international festivals including Berlin,
Bilbao, Paris, Chicago, London, Dresden, Monterrey, San Francisco, Shanghai,
Mannheim-Heidelberg and Rio de Janeiro (awarded in Germany, Spain, Italy,
Taiwan, USA, Canada, Mexico and of course in Poland).
In 2016 I was an alumni of Berlinale Talents and also I received a grant from the
Nipkow Programm in Berlin, whose aim is to develop a film project Through the
Woods.

After Berlinale Talent 2016 Bartosz Warwas, future director of Through the Woods,
received scholarship from Nipkow Programm for project development. French
distributor and international sales agent Outplay is interested in cooperation. We have
also german distributor interested in our project: BoxeeMedia and Dirk Simon.
We are looking for international co-producers.
Through The Woods is a modern story inspired by Antigone. Just like the play, our film
focuses on the clash of two view points that cannot coexist and a resulting tragedy. A
young footbal hooligan grows aware of his fascination with his sisters new boyfriend.
The fascination turns to desire - something that goes against the core of his beliefs.
Unable to cope with his new discoveries, he falls into a sort of madness.

Synopsis
In the hearth of Dakar, Amala, a radio show host, installed his media shop. This cultural
centre is a discussion laboratory in which people from every horizons debate. Words
bounce from the sidewalk to the mike they call to a reflection, and never make a
concession.
Amala is the pillar around which we will meet other characters. They all live or have
lived immigration one way or another. And theyre all tied to Amala, to his voice, and to
the reggae beats he plays.
His voice says things that most wouldnt even dare think. His words push around the
main beliefs and popular opinions through the Senegalese radio waves: everything is
still to be done in Africa Us Senegalese, we dont have any future in Europe, this is a
dangerous illusion!
The documentary will dance with the rhythms of an Africa believing in its own future,
and messages of rsistance against the desire for immigration will sweat through.

her slate of independent short, art and feature films with directors who have a strong
personal voice and vision. She has been producing commercials for over 20 years and
has a great track record of producing award-winning short films (awards inc BAFTA,
UIP, EIFF, Prix Canal+). Now more focused on feature projects, Ohna is still a regular
guest of European Short Film incentives where she seeks out emerging talent to
nurture. She is always looking for ways to collaborate internationally including through
producing shorts and art films. Her current projects include an original story by UKbased French director Galle Denis called La Fille De LEstuaire | The Girl from the
Estuary. This project, which was selected for Cinemart, was also accompanied through
the Torino Film Labs Framework and has now entered its financing stage with support
from The BFIs First feature fund. She is also developing an original dark comedy project
written by Scottish Artist Rachel Maclean and writer and stand-up comedian Joseph
Morpurgo, and an original female road-movie comedy co-written by Serbian writer
Gorana Jovanovic and UK writer-director Kyla Bruce.
Ohna is currently in production on artists Jane and Louise Wilsons Undead Sun2, in
collaboration with Film and Video Umbrella, with funding from the Wellcome Trust and
the Arts Council. This follows on from the success of Undead Sun, which premiered at
IFFR 2015 and was exhibited at the Imperial War Museum in London in 2014-2015. Most
recently she collaborated with Key Films (NL) to produce Voices of Finance, written and
directed by Clara Van Gool, a short docudance film based on the Joris Luyendijk

December 2015. Ohna also produced feature length art film Feed Me, written, directed
and interpreted by Rachel Maclean, a brash and provocative exploration of the
commercialisation and sexualisation of childhood, and a corresponding infantilism in

Stephen Burke
ENZO, a lonely Italian civil servant works in 1930's colonial Eritrea, running the port at
Massawa on the Red Sea. Seeing other Italian men taking Eritrean mistresses, Enzo is
encouraged to do the same. Enzo advertises for a housekeeper, and hires Aatifa, a
tough and sharp tongued woman she has a complicated family life, and only takes the
job as a last resort. What neither of them count on is falling in love.
But its 1935 and Fascism is on the march. Thousands of Italian soldiers and black-shirt
militia flood into the territory and with them come new race laws banning relationships
between Italian men and local women. Love becomes a crime.

Operation Liberland is about a disparate group of dreamers, who joined forces one
summer and tried to start a new country.
In April 2015, Czech Libertarian Vit Jedlicka set a flag on a no-mans-land between
Croatia and Serbia, and declared a new country called Liberland. When more than
300,000 people applied for citizenship, Jedlicka became a President and an
international celebrity over night.
The road to sovereignty however, would not be a smooth one. Operation Liberland
builds from the story of a dream, into an absurd game of cat and mouse between
Croatian police and the Liberland pioneers.

Synopsis
Battle Arena is a feature length documentary, which explores the world of ice hockey
through the professional ice hockey players' perspective. During an ice hockey game
the distance between players and spectators is so far that the viewers are not able to
experience the game close enough, whereupon they miss the true beauty of the game.
At its best, ice hockey is like a modern day gladiator battle with great physical as well as
psychological struggle in the aim for victory.
The project will show this great sport closer than any film or television broadcast has
ever managed before and revealing the unique brotherhood among the players. At
heart the film is an insight on the concept of ambition - what are we willing to sacrifice
for achieving greatness?

Agafya Lykova, a 70-year-old woman, has spent her life surviving in isolation in the vast
Siberian forest, 150km from the nearest town.
From this snowbound timeless dreamscape, cut off from the world of mass
communication and modern technology, The Forest In Me looks back at the outside
world to explore our sense of time, interweaving three visually stunning threads from
around the world:
We time-travel with the crew of a simulated manned mission to Mars in Hawaii, we leap
through years of a life documented on film in the UK and we return back to the isolated
Siberian homestead, where the existence of this singular woman is witnessed by the
vast forest that surrounds her.

brings with it sexual, moral and emotional awakening that threaten to pull his life apart.
As COLM begins to grow close to JAY, his own sense of identity is thrown into disarray
and his relationship with both his wife and son become more strained. Haunted by his

Synopsis
Bolt is a comedy-drama about the struggle between the idea of romantic love versus
the messy reality of relationships. Grace is a struggling store stylist who is finding it
increasingly difficult to engage with the demands of her erratic clientele. Their
unglamorous ways lay in stark contrast to her fantastical dream world of old Hollywood
glamour and pzazz, their faults a stark reminder of her own mother's flaws. More and
more distressed with the pressure to start a family of her own, she decides to leave her
loving husband Robbie before he becomes a victim of the person she most fears she will
turn out to be.
She finds a job with Verity, an eccentric but charismatic woman in her 80s who worked
as a dresser in the heyday of Hollywood's most glamorous era. Plunged into her fantasy
world of glamour and style, Grace feels that she has found her perfect outlet but she
begins to learn that style is dependent on understanding the substance and success is
dependent on the ability to engage and communicate on an intimate level.
By way of a messy new relationship with Veritys handsome nephew, George, and by
opening herself up to allow Verity to guide her professional life, Grace begins to
discover a new perspective on the world: that life in all its messiness may be worth the
living. But will Robbie still be waiting for her...?

Larry and Sophie have been waiting for this moment for weeks the chance to steal
away from a trip to the cinema organised by their training centre. Larry knows he may
never get another chance: the training centre is finishing up its last contract and so his
destiny is unclear.
Tom, their care-worker and conspirator, smuggles Larry and Sophie across the road to a
hotel, where they can be alone together at last. But when Larry asks Tom if he can
borrow a condom, Toms return to the cinema is delayed and the others seize their
moment.
Matthew and William flee the pictures for the pub. Andrew and Alice go shopping. And
Sandy and Peter find themselves alone in the cinema a situation which delights her,
but dismays him. And then there is Rita, who longs to go to the park, but not because
she wants fresh air.
While Tom searches frantically for his missing group, they each embark on their own
adventure, relishing freedom, booze, cheap costume jewellery and possibly sex and
romance.
But will Larry be able to make the most of his moment or will the pressure be too
much? And will Tom be able to keep their whereabouts secret from the others and from
the Big Boss, who would fire him in a heartbeat if she knew he was helping two people
with intellectual disabilities break the law?
Set in the world of people with intellectual disabilities, Sanctuary is a touching and
funny love story about Larry and Sophie, two people who long to be together in a world
that does everything to keep them apart.
