These are ten web tools or apps that can be used during this lesson as well as most

other Special Education lesson.


Web tools
Kahot! www.kahoot.com
Kahoot is an online game, which can be used as a grading tool or a poll-taking toll.
Kahoot! makes learning fun! When answering, the students press different colored
shapes, which makes it easier for a student how has low motor function to be an active
participant in class.
Popplet www.popplet.com
Popplet is an interactive graphic organizer. This will improve students ability to utilize
technology and also practice their organization skills (life skill).
Storybird www.storybird.com
Storybird is an artful and creative way to tell a story. Students can use an already
designed format and add in the words, or can make it from the beginning. Students will
be able to use this to tell social stories (a resource used in Special Education). A social
story is used for students who have a disability, many students do not adapt well to
change and a social story is the bridge between the present time and the change.
Students can either create their own or read a story, looking in as an outsider, on what
is going happen. For example, there was a fire drill, everyone pushed in their chairs,
left all their belongings in the classroom, and went outside with their teachers

Thinklink is an interactive bulletin board. The teacher can add a background with
interactive buttons, when students click the buttons they will be able to either view a
video, read an article, or be able to access additional information about the topic.This
will make it easier for students to access information visually.
Voki Avatar www.voki.com
Voki is a way for students to receive information about a project, assignment (such as a
do now), homework, or to be used a reinforcer during a lesson. The teacher creates an
avatar, they are able to customize it as well, and change the voice. The avatar will say
what it is that the teacher wants them to hear. The speech is available in many different
languages, genders, and speeds.

Googleplay: Cause and Effect

This app can be used by students can a reinforcer for students learning the concept of
cause and effect. They can practice by putting cause and effect cards in the correct
order to tell a story. This is great tool because it is easily accessible to students who are
not tech savy and also can be accessed on-the-go.
Googleplay: Cause and Effect Light Box
Cause and Effect Sensory Light Box was created for students with complex needs such
as, visual impairment, autism, and varied developmental disabilities. It help a students
visualize the concept of cause and effect, the students drag their finger on the pad
screen and see the effect of it instantaneously.
Googleplay: Touch to speak:Austism AAC
This app helps students on the Autism Spectrum or with developmental delays to
enhance their speech. The app allows a teacher or adult to import commonly used
words by text or voice, in which the student clicks on the word and the voice is heard.
This helps text-to-voice communication, and students will be hearing the language and
how it is utilized.
Googleplay: Quick Notes Free
This app is useful for life skills students with they are on their job sites. This app is used
for either typing out notes or drawing out notes. Students will use their iPad in lieu of
paper and pen which can get lost or dirty. This is also helping students with their
organizational skills.
Apple store: Social Skills
This app is used for students to engage in pre-planned lesson on various social
situations. This app focuses in joint attention, non-verbal communication, greetings,
structured game play, turn taking, classroom rules, and Imitation. Adults or teachers can
also add in in photos/audio notes to make the social stories/lessons more applicable to
the student and they will be able to connect with the lesson/story. This app can also
teach students about social situations at the job sites.
