Bishops Committee June 13, 2010

Attending: Maria, Krista, Jessie, Laura, Wynne, Diane Johnson (with church
profile).

The meeting opened with a prayer from Maria.

The minutes of May 9 were approved.

We discussed the Search document that Diane put together. Minor

suggestions were made but we think it looks very good. The digital version
will include some links to other important Kirksville websites. We expressed
our appreciation to Diane for all her hard work. We will meet with Canon Dan
Smith on Tuesday to discuss this document and the next step in the search
process.

We discussed the meeting with the Canon. Five of us will attend this
meeting. We will start at 5:30 at Jessies house (1405 Janeway Drive).

We discussed the finance committee formation. The current bylaws describe

who should be members of the finance committee. Alan Davis has just
completed an audit (with the help of a student) for the church and made
several suggestions. He has also agreed to be a member of the finance
committee.

We discussed the need for a new treasurer. Several suggestions were made
about possible solutions.

Maria pointed out that we have a new lawn mower. Wynne asked if
instructions for how to start it could be posted in the shed.

Maria also talked about the discernment conference she attended. People
from all different stages of the process attended this conference. She found
it enlightening and helpful and also found out how her discernment
committee will be trained.

Krista mentioned that Food 4 Kids still needs help.

The tract rack will be painted and hung in the narthex.

Maria mentioned the estimate for the drainage problem fix will be about
$2000.
