Pattern Instructions
This pattern is designed to specifically resemble the Chihuahua named Lucky in the photo below. If youd like to
make it a single color with no design on the head, keep increasing after Rnd 4 until your desired head size, then sc
evenly for a few rounds before decreasing to finish.
Head
Rnd 8:
w - 2sc in each of next 3 sts
t - *2sc in next st, sc*, rep * 2 more times
w - sc in next 5 sts
t - *2sc in next st, sc*, rep * 2 more times
w - *sc, 2sc in next st*, rep * 1 time (35)
Rnd 9: w sc 5; t sc 10, 2sc in next st; w sc 4; t 2sc in next st, sc 8, 2sc in next st;
w sc 5 (38)
Rnd 10: w sc, sc2tog, sc; t sc 14; w sc 3; t sc 13; w sc, sc2tog, sc (36)
Rnd 11: w sc 3; t 2sc in next st, sc 13; w sc2tog, sc; t 2sc in next st, sc 11, 2sc
in next st; w sc 3 (38)
Rnd 12: w sc 3; t sc 15; w sc 2; t sc 15; w sc 3 (38)
Rnd 13: w sc 2; t sc 16; w sc2tog; t sc 16; w sc; t sc (37)
Rnd 14: t sc; w sc; t sc 16; w sc; t sc 16; w sc; t sc (37)
Rnd 15: t sc; w sc; t [*sc, sc2tog*, rep * 4 more times], sc 3, [*sc, sc2tog*, rep * 4
more times]; w sc; t sc (27)
Rnd 16: t sc; w sc; t sc, [*sc, sc2tog*, rep * 6 more times], sc; w sc; t sc (20)
Rnd 17: t sc; w sc; t sc 2, [*sc, sc2tog*, rep * 3 more times], sc 4 (16)
Flip head inside out and place safety eyes between Rnds 8 & 9, about 6-7 sts apart.
You may cut off the white yarn as the rest will only be tan.
I like to start making the snout at this point, put on the animal nose, sew snout to head and
stuff before continuing to Rnd 18 to close it up.
Rnd 18: t *sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog*, rep * 3 more times (12)
