Message from the Tournament Director

Greetings of Peace and Blessings!
It is of our great pleasure to invite your institution to MAHALTA CUP 7: Agree
to Disagree to be held on January 20-22, 2017 at Mindoro State College of
Agriculture and Technology- Calapan City Campus.
For more than six years, the Mahalta Cup has been the largest debate tournament
in the province gathering more than a hundred young debaters from different
secondary and tertiary institutions in our province to show their commitment on
social transformation and a catalyst of change using Asian Parliamentary Format.
The tournament will consist of five elimination rounds and three final rounds. The
registration fee will be Php. 1990 per person inclusive of debate kits and tokens,
meals, accommodations and all other tournament cost for three days.

RULES

Team Classification:

Collegiate Teams- all team members should belong

to and

must be studying in the same university/ college

High School Teams- all team members must belong to the

same secondary schools

SHS debaters/ adjudicators may join HS/ College team as

long as they are on the same institution

Composite Teams- members can come from any institution

and any level (not eligible to break on Augustinus Cup)

Adjudicators Policy

N= 1 rule

Teams who will fail to comply with the N= 1 rule will be

fined Php. 1000 and will be ineligible to break

Adjudicators must send their CV at

Independent adjes are welcomed to join (HS, College,

Alumni)
