A Scary Night

It was a dark and stormy night. I was about to go to bed when I heard a tapping
sound on my window.
"Who's there?" I shouted. Suddenly there was a
flash of lightning; I saw a face at the window. It
looked like an alien ... an alien that I had seen
on the television show, "the X files."
I felt very scared. I ran to my bed and pulled my blanket over my head. I started to
shout for my parents but there was no reply. Then I remembered that they were at a
fancy dress party.
I peeped out of my blanket but it was too dark to see anything. Then I heard
footsteps. They were getting louder and louder. It was dark but I knew the way to
my drawer where I kept my camera. I ran there and took out my camera and started
to take pictures in the direction of the window. Soon the footsteps died off.

The grandfather clock struck ... ... It was 12 midnight. I went

back to my bed and tried to sleep. But I could not sleep. I
felt too frightened. I sat up, my mind was full of thoughts.
Time passed ... one o'clock, two o'clock, three o'clock, and
four o'clock. Finally, I fell asleep.

I woke up only after eight and decided to investigate. I found some footprints
outside my bedroom window. I measured them with a tape and found them to be
exactly the same size as my father's shoes. The footprints ended at the door of my
house. I then went to town to get the film developed. But when I saw the photos I
was shocked. They were black and I could hardly see anything. Then I remembered
that I did not use the flash.
When I reached home I told my father the whole incident and he started to laugh. I
started laughing too when he told me that he had dressed up as an alien for the
party. Today, I am still amused to think I was so afraid of my own father.

Bangladesh Cricket
Cricket in Bangladesh has gained utmost popularity in recent times. People in the
cities and villages equally love cricket. Cricket has been so popular that football
and others playing grounds are gradually being transformed into cricket grounds.
There is a strong domestic league which on many occasions also saw Test players
from many countries (Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, and England) gracing the cricket
fields of Bangladesh. In the year 2000 Bangladesh became a full member of
the International Cricket Council, which allows the national team to play Test cricket.
The Bangladesh national cricket team goes by the nickname of the Tigers after
the royal Bengal tiger.
Bangladesh had staged first-class and even Test cricket when it was part of
Pakistan. The Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka was first used for Test
cricket when Pakistan played India there in January 1955. It was used for numerous
important matches, including Tests, right up to the declaration of independence in
1971.
Bangladeshi international cricket began in 1976/77 when the Marylebone Cricket
Club (MCC) came to play against the Bangladesh national side. MCC played their
first match against a regional team in Rajshahi with the match ending in a draw. The
first unofficial Test against the MCC was played at Dhaka on 4 January 1977.
In 200102, Ispahani Mirzapore Tea became the sponsor of the National Cricket
League in addition to the One-Day League. Now Sahara sponsor the national team.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) (known then as the Bangladesh Cricket Control
Board) was established in 1972. Bangladesh is a full member of the International
Cricket Council and the Asian Cricket Council.
The Bangladesh Cricket Control Board was established in 1972. Soon after, a cricket
league commenced in Dhaka and Chittagong. A national level cricket tournament
begun in the country in 197475. During this time the cricket league started at
the district (regional) level. Other tournaments that were organized were aimed at
school, college, youth and university level.
Bangladesh has achieved both one day and test status in the world cricket that
clearly holds out the strength of our cricket. However, our cricket is still has various
problems. We are yet to attain appreciable standard at international level. So, we
have a lot of do.

Our School Campus

A school is an institution for acquiring education. It can be said a workshop that
produces educated figures. It is such an institution where the students acquire
knowledge; learn discipline behavior and moral character. Students learn how to
show respect to the elders in the school.
The name of my school is -----. It is situated at-----.
The school is a four-storied building. It is a famous school in our district. It is a

A Good Student
Student is a person who learns and for this purpose, he visits schools, colleges, universities and other
institutes. A persons life is a big school itself on which we learn at every step.

Every student is not same. Some follow all the rules while some dont want to study
and some waste their entire time in playing. School time is the period where
character of a person builds. Students who are good in this period, do best in the
future and who are dull, find it hard to establish in life.
A good student should be hardworking since it is hard to get good results and
academic success without training and effort.
A good student should also be active in the community. He should be appreciated
not only by his academic success but also by his social activities as well.
A good student should be active. He should have good communicating skills and by
being active in society, this widens his chance to make friends with everyone
around him and to make his college life more fun and increase his confidence.
A good student should be well prepared for the future. As much as students are
taught to have ambitions and high dreams this cannot come true if they do not
know how to turn their dreams into reality. Students should be practical and realistic
as life is not always fair with everyone and every step to success takes time and
patience.
The foremost duty of a good student is to study and work hard. An ideal student
also manages playing with the study to stay healthy and fit. He goes to school daily
and always remains punctual. He takes all his lessons quietly. He is the obedient
student who respects teachers and elders. He is also good with his class fellows and
his juniors.
An ideal student considers book as his best friend. He is hard working and honest.
He co-operates with others. He never uses unfair means to pass his exam. A good
student is the good citizen of the future on which a nation can be proud. A good
student is the one who balances his studies with sports and extra-curricular
activities and tries to be the best in all.

Food Festival
A food festival is a festival, usually held annually, that uses food, often produce, as its
central theme. These festivals have always been a means of uniting communities through
celebrations of harvests and giving thanks for a plentiful growing season. They can be traced back
thousands of years to celebrating the arrival of harvest time, the autumnal equinox, and the honoring
of earth gods. Some food festivals are also harvest festivals. Note this list includes festivals focused
on beverages, such as wine festivals and beer festivals, as well.
