PROBLEM STATEMENT
Sustainable development is defined as development that satisfies the needs of the present without compromising the
ability of future generations to satisfy theirs. Sustainable development insists on the need to protect the diversity of
genes, species, and all terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems in nature. This is possible in particular to protect the quality
of the environment, and by the restoration, development, and maintenance of habitats that are essential to species.
TASK
In order to be sustainable, development must combine three main elements: fairness, protection of the environment,
and economic efficiency. Select one sustainable development problem shown in the list below, and discuss on the
issue. Your discussion should include;

Introduction of the issue and the effect to human society, world, health, culture, legal, etc. and the
challenges faced in managing the issue
Suggestion/Solution - State what others have done with regards to the issue (Malaysia and overseas)
and discuss the challenges in terms of human society, world, health, culture, legal, cost, etc if we were
to follow what have been done by others.
Identify potential un-ethical problems and come up with suggestions to overcome them (the dos and
donts)

2 You can prepare the report in the format of the technical report or slide presentation as long the report
should include part I-III
3 Reading resources (references) must be listed in the report.
4 You are also required to prepare materials such as poster or brochure or short article or video/ animation
etc. to increase the public awareness about your topic. You may upload your material to YouTube or
Facebook or etc. as evidence and for sharing.
