ATIVIDADES DE CC:

1. INTRODUCTIONS: SET A PROFILE the students have to create their profiles (for a web site, e.g., or for
an interview). Tell the students to write complete information add things they like to do, hobbies,
preferences, dreams, travelling, pets, favorite things (song, music, artists, movies, books, places to visit,
friends, web sites), and then, introduce their profile to the rest of the class.

SIMPLE PAST: TELLING STORIES the students are supposed to tell a story about their lives, using
simple past and past expressions.

3. SIMPLE PAST: GUESS THE FAIRY TALE Create sentences using verbs in the past form to help your
classmates figuring out the fairy tale or the story. EX: Once upon a time, there was girl who lived in a little
house in the forest
** Another possibility is to ask the students to pick a character from a famous fairy tale, and give tips (using
sentences in the simple past form) to help the classmates to guess who it is.
Suggestions: Peter Pan, Beauty Sleeping, Snow White, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Spider Man, Tarzan, Shrek,
Harry Potter, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Avatar.
4. CONNECTORS AND SIMPLE PRESENT WHICH MOVIE IS THIS? Every student must choose a movie,
and tell the story to the class, so that they can guess the name of the movie. Stimulate the class to ask
questions about the movie.
Steps: Chose a movie; Tell us the context; Give tips to help your classmates guessing it!
5. PAST FORM (VERBS), CONDITIONAL, BETTER/PREFER AND INVITATIONS WORK IN PAIRS ask the
students to complete the following dialogue:
A: What did you do last Saturday? (yesterday, last night, on your vacation, on Xmas past time expressions)
B: I .. (use verbs in the past form)
A: Would you like to (verb infinitive) tonight? (tomorrow, today, on Sunday, etc)
B: Yes, sure! No, Id prefer (Id better .)
6. CAN / COULD: MIMICS working in pair, the students stands in front of each other, and play mimics of
activities, and say a different ability the other student has to play the correct mimic to that ability, and so on.
****Or Mimics in 2 lines students must stay in two lines, one in front of the other, and mimic or mouth
reading every time on students guesses what the other is doing correctly, walk on step.
7. SOME / ANY / NO: DESCRIBING PICTURES Using famous paintings, ask the students to describe the
objects, people, nature, colors, etc., in the painting, using some/any and no. You can also use pictures from
a magazine.
8. COMPARISSONS: Students use pictures from a magazine or different versions from a famous painting
(Monalisa, for example), to practice comparisons.
9. PRESENT PERFECT: THE TRUTH GAME Use questions based on the truth game; the students must
answer the questions using the Present Perfect Tense.
10. NUMBERS: THE NUMBERS CHART GAME The students use a number chart, a colored graphic, deuces
and pines. Using the deuces to walk the chart with the pines, the student must create a sentence using the
numbers and a word given (in the graph). They must create sentences in a sequence to form a story.
11. CONTINUOUS : Students must describe pictures in magazines (or any picture they choose) using
continuous sentences. AND Pictures (what are they doing? )
12. POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS / WHATS YOUR FAVORITE...? Working in pairs, students interview each other
about their favorite (color, artist, Holyday, song, place, subject, food, pastime, TV show, singer, band or
group, book, video clip, movie, best friend, animal, word, party). After that, they write their partners profile
and introduce him/her to the class.

13. Adding subtitles to a movie or a video: students must work in pairs or in groups to add subtitles to a video,
movie or interview. Compare the subtitles theyve written to the original subtitles of the videos.
14. REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS: Explain that we use those pronouns when the subject and object are the same,
used as the object of a preposition, referring to the subject. I brought a present for myself, All by myself.
(criar frases criativas), or or to emphasize the subject (I can help myself, he ate all the cake himself).
15. SPELLING / ALPHABET: One student sits down back to the board. Another student sits right in front of
him/her. Another student goes to the board and writes a word, an email address, a web site, a sentence or a
name. The std. sitting back to the board must write down the words spelled by the std. sitting in front of
him/her (spelling what the other writes on the board). Use punctuation marks.
16. ADJECTIVES: Using famous paintings, students must describe such paintings by using adjectives.
17. STOP: Color, place, name, nationality, adjective, animal, free word, food/fruit, number
18. MOVIE Play a movie scene (without subtitles or subtitles in English), and then ask the students to
describe what happened.
19. WHAT ARE YOU LIKE? Ask students to write on paper three or four personal characteristics they attribute
themselves, and then ask What are you like?. Use the same question to talk about their family, friends, etc.

21. PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS: Students chose an activity (it might be a sport, a hobby, a course,
etc.) theyve been practicing for a while write a short paragraph about it, using Present Perfect Continuous,
since, for, etc.
22. DAYS OF THE WEEK/ REGULAR ACTIVITIES Ask students to set their weekly schedule, adding the most
import activities on each day. POWER POINT Days of the week.
23. CRAZY STORIES: The teacher or any of the students starts a story by writing a short line. In small groups,
all the students must complete each others stories, making sure that the story has a beginning, a climax and
an ending.
24. SHORT BIO - students talk to their partners and write a short bio about their partners life. This is a good
exercise to practice greetings, asking personal questions and adverbs of sequence (FIRST, AGO, UNTIL,
FROM TO, THEN, WHEN, AFTER THAT)
25. ADVICES: If I have .(a problem), what should I do? Students write a problem on a piece of paper, and then
change papers the student who takes the paper must pretend that is his or her problem, create a story and
then ask for their friends help.
26. THERE is are + PARTS OF THE HOUSE students describe their houses and the furniture using there is
are. It can also be done with the class, their best friends house, their city, etc.
27. WARM UP similar words students make a circle, and one of them starts saying a word in English. After
that, all students should say another word that has a connection with the word previously said.Ex: Sky blue
sad movie romance etc.
28. ANIMALS for kids using animal sounds flash pops (internet); the students must listen to the sounds of
the animals, and them write the name of the animal on the board. Working in different teams, the game turns
into a competition.
29. Words and personality: the teacher presents the activity as a new way of students getting to know each other
and getting to know themselves! The teacher writes a few words on the board, like childhood, family, love,
problems, friendship, life, dream, nature, charity, and students must write on a piece of paper the first thing
that comes to their minds when they listen to those words (considering their own personal experiences only).
After that, students try to explain the connection of what they wrote to what was said. Its a funny way to
make students talk about themselves, and introducing abstract themes.
30. Used To: Talking about superstitions: Using simple past expressions and used to, students share with the
class stories about superstitions they used to believe. The teacher shall introduce the exercise by telling a
story of her or himself.
